Amazing place, just as everyone else describes. Monkeys wake you up early each day. Definitely a place for animal lovers. It is a bit of a walk to downtown Quepos, and is not on the road to Manuel Antonio, but this was not really too much a problem. Many of the people in town (taxi drivers) know Thomas, and getting around isn't too bad. We spent a lot of time at the treehouse and in the pool, and saw a dozen monkeys, a sloth, many geckos, birds, etc... Definitely one of the most memorable places we have stayed. Thomas made himself available and was helpful, even though we booked things last minute.
WOW! So toll!!!
Thomas was there at the airport when we landed. On the way to the treehouse he showed us some points of interest in town. After just a few minutes we were at the treehouse...AMAZING! It may seem a little sketchy, being up in a tree with barely any walls, mostly mesh, but NO! Monkeys, lizards, all kinds of birds. The walk into Quepos was quick, a little hilly, but quick. And if you're tired a cab is only 3 bucks. Every restaurant we went to was very good. Especially "Raphael"s. All in all, very good place to hang out and enjoy the jungle. Oh, almost forgot, Manuel Antonio park...definitely get a guide. Thanks Thomas!
My boyfriend and I just came back from a week spent in the Treehouse. We had an amazing time - Thomas was a great host: very welcoming and helpful. We took advantage of several of the tours recommended and set up by him, and they were all fantastic (especially the guides).
The Treehouse was perfect for our needs: a comfortable bed, kitchen/dining area, laundry, refreshing pool, and great view surrounded by wildlife. We were greeted by Capuchins almost every day (they really like throwing a party on the roof...), as well as Squirrel monkeys, all kinds of lizards, geckos, and birds. The location is also high up enough that it catches a good breeze, which definitely helps in the humidity, but be prepared for a hike in/out of town ;). If you want to live a simple life in the rainforest, this place is for you!
We also had fun exploring Quepos and Manuel Antonio. It's a very friendly area and we felt safe the whole time.
All in all, an incredible trip!
Thanks Thomas and Lili for hosting us!
What a special place!! The mornings were amazing - we got up early and were out on the porch by 6 with our tea watching the wildlife. We saw all 3 types of monkeys, 2 of which spent a lot of time with us on the porch - our most memorable experience in Costa Rica!
Thomas was great - picking us up at the airport and setting us up with 2 fantastic day trips - Canyoning and Sunset sail - both of which we'd recommend.
We enjoyed the walk into Quepos everyday and had some nice meals and the market was really great. We spent a couple of nice afternoons at the pool with it's beautiful surroundings - paradise:)
We saw stars lying in bed and waking up to the jungle is something we'll never forget!
Thomas was an excellent and friendly host. Tree house was exactly as pictured if not better.
We were met by Thomas in town and made the drive to the little hideaway in the forest. On the afternoon of our arrival, a large family of Capuchin monkeys showed up. The juveniles had a great time jumping back and forth from the trees to the roof, jumping up and down on the roof, and then peering over the edge of the roof at us on the balcony, perhaps to see if they had our attention. The roof top seemed to be a source of amusement for them ; ). The adults did not bother with this and instead we could see them foraging for food in the trees. We also had two howler monkeys (male and female) swing by, just off the balcony in the morning. You can understand the necessity and the rule for not feeding these monkeys as they would become a nuisance but for us they were a source of amusement.
Nighttime started with the chattering of geckos and insects. We had several geckos in the room the first night but the second night we only saw two. The night is quiet and you can even hear the surf in the background. The bed is comfortable.
We were awoken on both mornings by the rooster and dogs next door, but this is Costa Rica, and a much nicer way to wake up then to an alarm clock or traffic.
The pool is a two minute walk (probably less) from the tree house, and is quite refreshing. We did not attempt to walk into town as we were only there a short time and cooked our own meals here. The grocery coming into town was probably the best of the two we visited.

About the Host, Thomas + Lili
Moved from Switzerland 16 years ago, just love it here! The people are "pura vida", life is so easy, the climate is very healthy! Very lucky to have purchased a big piece of property in the Playa Macha area, declared as green zone, where I offer the Tree House and Villa Malinche. It's almost like the National Park, lot's of wildlife and very peaceful, surrounded by lush rain forest!
My wife Lili is a licensed physic therapist, also with a great dedication for massage treatments, she can make you feel in heaven.... Don't miss an onsite treatment during your stay!
We are happy to share this relaxed jungle feeling on our property with the people we meet through Airbnb. Just lay back in the hammocks, taste the famous coffee and watch the monkeys fly by...
