The drive takes about 10 minutes, also by car (parking along the beach or at the entrance of the NP)
Closest airport is San Jose (SJO), with several options for transportation to Quepos:
SANSA AND NATURE AIR are the two local airlines, taking you to Quepos or back to San Jose, the flight is 25 minutes, the ticket cost $ 75.-/pax one way. Both airlines can be found in the web and tickets can be easy purchased online.

The other option is a van transportation, pick up at the airport upon your arrival and drop off at the Tree House. Like that you can already enjoy your drive from the Central Valley to the Pacific Coast.

When a blue morpho butterfly greets you as you walk the path to the tree house, it is going to be a great time!
That is exactly what happened to us. I had a wonderful experience with my husband at the tree house! This was my first tropical vacation and the only word for it was WOW! Monkeys, parrots, butterflies, lizards, geckos and more, along with beautiful plants and pool made the tree house a paradise.
We saw monkeys nearly every day. The squirrel monkeys were my favorite - so playful! There was a cool gecko we made friends with who liked to hang out in the shower. Butterflies galore! Every morning we would watch the parrots fly overhead. I really loved how close we were to nature!
After a long day of adventuring (zip lining, jungle tours, hiking, shopping, etc.) it was great to come back to the peaceful tree house and relax on the deck or take a dip in the pool. Very relaxing!
Thomas was awesome! He made us feel welcome and answered all of our questions while giving us a quick tour of the town of Quepos. He also helped us book additional activities during our stay and arranged for our taxi back to the airport when it came time to leave. I could not have asked for better host! Thank you for sharing your tree house Thomas!
Just like it says in the description, the town of Quepos is about a 15 minute walk down the hill. We enjoyed it. Quepos is an interesting and beautiful town. If you are there on a Friday evening or Saturday morning, check out the farmer's market. We felt welcomed at most places - knowing some Spanish is helpful.
When we have the opportunity to visit Costa Rica again, this will be one of our stops!
The tree house was just as pictured. It was so neat to wake up to all the monkey activity. We even enjoyed the little lizards that were staying in the tree house with us. Thomas was very kind and picked us up from the Quepos airport. Our stay at the tree house was cut short. We were visiting during the hottest part of the year and not having any breeze come through was making it very hard to sleep. So we decided stay somewhere else but we hope to visit the tree house again, during cooler weather.
We had an amazing time at the Tree house but too short. Woke up with monkeys sound every morning and had squirrel monkeys and white face monkeys visiting us during the day.
We loved how they thought of small details (e.g. the small barbeque on the balcony, abundance of plugs etc)
Really great location; Very hard/impossible to find the first time, but once you know where it is you are 5 min drive from downtown Quepos and the Marina (where you can go sailing etc). Make sure to accept Thomas offer to meet up somewhere in Quepos to lead you to the property since the road to it is not even on (website hidden) map.
Highly recommend the place for an unforgettable experience.
We had a great stay at the treehouse.
Thomas and Lili were extremely welcoming and helpful. Thomas has lived in the area for a long time so has a lot of knowledge about the local area.
We found Quepos to be a charming town with a nice mix of locals and tourists. We were there for 4 days and went to the farmers market, the fiesta, watched a local football match and of course went into Manuel Antonio. We also really enjoyed the area around the house that used to belong to the United Fruit Corporation - Thomas was great in telling us the history.
The treehouse has everything you need for cooking etc - and is very popular with spider monkeys and capuchin monkeys - we saw loads of them swinging in the trees you can see in the photos.
We enjoyed the walk up the hill from town (or a taxi is only a couple of dollars). The pool is an amazing end to what were very warm days.
We also stayed in the villa 'Malinche' that is Thomas's other listing - it was great to mix the more rustic treehouse with the luxury of the villa.
Highly recommended - I'd definitely stay here if returning to the area.
The tree house gives a unique experience of being in the middle of the jungle among birds and monkeys. The little swimming pool in a lovely tropical garden is divine. We definitely enjoyed our stay and Thomas is great host.
I flew to Quepos from San Jose. Thomas was there at the landing place and helped me with my bags. The good gent he is!
Thomas is a very nice fellow. He is the king of Quepos with his property residing on top of the peak of the mountain.
The tree house is sweet! I believe he is already booked up for next years winter and I am not surprised.
Loved the shower and the lay out of the tree house. Insects weren't a problem in general, even so, there was a mesh night to put over the bed that helped out. One morning there was a monkey on top of the tree house roof.
Wifi was really poor, but whatever, good to get away from the electronics. The neighbors were loud at times. I could hear the bass of their music go on for hours and the dogs barked a lot too.
The stars were magnificent as the top of the mountain is the darkest area.
Quepos is in walking distance to his house (15 minute walk) and Manuel Antonio is a quick bus or taxi ride away.
Their is a restaurant in Quepos that is recommended on trip advisor, it is near the Interbus station. That is the best place to eat in the town of Quepos.
The Republik was the night life in the town or the club scene if you will. It was kind of lame and I'm talking about on a weekend late at night.
Manuel Antonio public beach doesn't have a lot of shade, the sand is boiling hot and it is a bit crowded.
The national park is good for about 4 hours. You will some monkeys...and the beaches inside the park are nice.
The breakfast places near the national park are both very good! Costa Linda is one. They serve you more than one plate of quality food and coffee on the cheap!
I don't recommend the cities of Manuel Antonio or Quepos in general, but the Tree House was Awesome!
Thanks to Thomas for being a great host!
This was our 2nd year at the tree house and it definitely did not disappoint us! Everyday we could expect the white face and squirrel monkeys to come visit and play on the deck! Birds, geckos, howlers near by, hummingbirds, and more! So much to see and hear right from the private deck! Unusually rainy for February but a welcome surprise as it lulled us to sleep at night. Thomas and Lily are 5+ star hosts, there for you when you have questions or requests but allow their guests privacy. The pool was refreshing and peaceful and night dips before you sleep is recommended! While I had the flu on arrival I cannot complain as everything I needed to relax and get better was right here at Thomas and Lili's tree house. See you next year. Pura Vida!
TIP: book very early as this tree house is always booked up well in advance!!!

Moved from Switzerland 16 years ago, just love it here! The people are "pura vida", life is so easy, the climate is very healthy! Very lucky to have purchased a big piece of property in the Playa Macha area, declared as green zone, where I offer the Tree House and Villa Malinche. It's almost like the National Park, lot's of wildlife and very peaceful, surrounded by lush rain forest!
My wife Lili is a licensed physic therapist, also with a great dedication for massage treatments, she can make you feel in heaven.... Don't miss an onsite treatment during your stay!
We are happy to share this relaxed jungle feeling on our property with the people we meet through Airbnb. Just lay back in the hammocks, taste the famous coffee and watch the monkeys fly by...
