Thomas was an excellent and friendly host. Tree house was exactly as pictured if not better.
We were met by Thomas in town and made the drive to the little hideaway in the forest. On the afternoon of our arrival, a large family of Capuchin monkeys showed up. The juveniles had a great time jumping back and forth from the trees to the roof, jumping up and down on the roof, and then peering over the edge of the roof at us on the balcony, perhaps to see if they had our attention. The roof top seemed to be a source of amusement for them ; ). The adults did not bother with this and instead we could see them foraging for food in the trees. We also had two howler monkeys (male and female) swing by, just off the balcony in the morning. You can understand the necessity and the rule for not feeding these monkeys as they would become a nuisance but for us they were a source of amusement.
Nighttime started with the chattering of geckos and insects. We had several geckos in the room the first night but the second night we only saw two. The night is quiet and you can even hear the surf in the background. The bed is comfortable.
We were awoken on both mornings by the rooster and dogs next door, but this is Costa Rica, and a much nicer way to wake up then to an alarm clock or traffic.
The pool is a two minute walk (probably less) from the tree house, and is quite refreshing. We did not attempt to walk into town as we were only there a short time and cooked our own meals here. The grocery coming into town was probably the best of the two we visited.
Thomas and Lili were great hosts. The treehouse was truly an amazing experience, never to be forgotten. Quepos will stay with us forever! We'll be back!
Our stay in Thomas & Lili's Tree House was simply amazing. It is in a perfect location, nestled in a private jungle paradise, but just a short walk down the hill into the town of Quepos with its shops and restaurants, and an easy bus ride to amazing beaches in Manuel Antonio.
My favorite part of the Tree House itself was the porch: I feel like I saw more wildlife up close on that porch than in the entire rest of my vacation (which is really saying something). The Squirrel Monkeys were particularly playful. My husband's favorite part was the pool on the premises: it was perfect for cooling off with quick dips through out to day (usually immediately after hiking up the hill, which we really enjoyed doing on foot, even though you can easily catch inexpensive cabs in Quepos).
We didn't get the chance to meet Lili during our stay, but Thomas is an amazing host. He picked us up in town upon our arrival, booked several guided tours for us. We are so grateful that we chose to spend our vacation in his magnificent Tree House.
When a blue morpho butterfly greets you as you walk the path to the tree house, it is going to be a great time!
That is exactly what happened to us. I had a wonderful experience with my husband at the tree house! This was my first tropical vacation and the only word for it was WOW! Monkeys, parrots, butterflies, lizards, geckos and more, along with beautiful plants and pool made the tree house a paradise.
We saw monkeys nearly every day. The squirrel monkeys were my favorite - so playful! There was a cool gecko we made friends with who liked to hang out in the shower. Butterflies galore! Every morning we would watch the parrots fly overhead. I really loved how close we were to nature!
After a long day of adventuring (zip lining, jungle tours, hiking, shopping, etc.) it was great to come back to the peaceful tree house and relax on the deck or take a dip in the pool. Very relaxing!
Thomas was awesome! He made us feel welcome and answered all of our questions while giving us a quick tour of the town of Quepos. He also helped us book additional activities during our stay and arranged for our taxi back to the airport when it came time to leave. I could not have asked for better host! Thank you for sharing your tree house Thomas!
Just like it says in the description, the town of Quepos is about a 15 minute walk down the hill. We enjoyed it. Quepos is an interesting and beautiful town. If you are there on a Friday evening or Saturday morning, check out the farmer's market. We felt welcomed at most places - knowing some Spanish is helpful.
When we have the opportunity to visit Costa Rica again, this will be one of our stops!
The tree house was just as pictured. It was so neat to wake up to all the monkey activity. We even enjoyed the little lizards that were staying in the tree house with us. Thomas was very kind and picked us up from the Quepos airport. Our stay at the tree house was cut short. We were visiting during the hottest part of the year and not having any breeze come through was making it very hard to sleep. So we decided stay somewhere else but we hope to visit the tree house again, during cooler weather.
We had an amazing time at the Tree house but too short. Woke up with monkeys sound every morning and had squirrel monkeys and white face monkeys visiting us during the day.
We loved how they thought of small details (e.g. the small barbeque on the balcony, abundance of plugs etc)
Really great location; Very hard/impossible to find the first time, but once you know where it is you are 5 min drive from downtown Quepos and the Marina (where you can go sailing etc). Make sure to accept Thomas offer to meet up somewhere in Quepos to lead you to the property since the road to it is not even on Google map.
Highly recommend the place for an unforgettable experience.

Moved from Switzerland 16 years ago, just love it here! The people are "pura vida", life is so easy, the climate is very healthy! Very lucky to have purchased a big piece of property in the Playa Macha area, declared as green zone, where I offer the Tree House and Villa Malinche. It's almost like the National Park, lot's of wildlife and very peaceful, surrounded by lush rain forest!
My wife Lili is a licensed physic therapist, also with a great dedication for massage treatments, she can make you feel in heaven.... Don't miss an onsite treatment during your stay!
We are happy to share this relaxed jungle feeling on our property with the people we meet through Airbnb. Just lay back in the hammocks, taste the famous coffee and watch the monkeys fly by...
