This was truely a once in a lifetime getaway. I went by myself for 4 nights and spent 3 in the treehouse and the final night at villa malinche. The property is absolutely breathtaking! I didn't see too much wildlife at the property in terms of monkeys, until my last day in the treehouse where I spotted one climbing a tree just outside the screen window. For someone who has never seen a monkey, it was pretty exciting! The treehouse is equipt with everything you could need for cooking (even had ground coffee!), is crazy relaxing, and has an excellent jungle view. I loved being surrounded by pure nature for a few days. The villa is equally as amazing, and perhaps even better! It's like a luxury hotel with enough dishwear to entertain a big group of guests. I really hope to go back with friends and share the experience. But if you're planning on going solo, this is definitely an excellent place to kick back, enjoy the costas rica jungle sounds, and read a book! You'll even have tons of little lizards sharing your space with you, so you won't feel alone :)
I didn't get to meet Thomas or Lili as they were on vacation, but their assistant Angie was absolutley perfect. She booked all my excursions and whenever I needed a cab to or from anywhere I just had to ask her and one appeared. Great hosts for sure!
We had the most amazing experience at the tree house. There is so much to do around town but we had a hard time leaving the peaceful environment of the tree house. They have everything you need to cook and enjoy your stay. We absolutely loved being greeted by white faced monkeys on our balcony between 730 and 8 in the morning. We did not have the opportunity to meet thomas since he was on vacation but he still made sure everything was taken care of for us to have an amazing stay. We just left and are already dying to return! One of the best vacation stays I've had!
I can't say enough positive things about my stay at the treehouse. The location creates the feeling that you are secluded deep inside the middle of the jungle. We were surrounded by more wildlife than when we visited Manuel Antonio National Park! But in actuality it is very conveniently located - a 10 minute walk to town and a 10 second walk to the pool :) It is also a quick cab or bus ride to the beautiful beaches of Manuel Antonio. Our porch received daily visits from squirrel and capuchin monkeys along with a variety of colorful birds, lizards, and iguanas. We didn't get a chance to meet Lili but Thomas and Angie were very helpful and professional. I can't wait for my next visit!
This treehouse was a incredible experience for my partner and I. We waited almost ten months and the wait was well worth it.
The treehouse itself is beautiful in person and while the pictures look amazing, in person is even better.
From the first moment we boom Thomas was engaging and informative. He answered all of my questions promptly and with patience.
We flew into San Jose and then took a bus from the Tracopa station straight into Quepos. The bus was $8 and took three hours. Thomas arranged for a cab for us from there and the ride to the treehouse by cab is only ten minutes.
We walked into the town of Quepos daily and while the walk is long, it isn't treacherous as some reviews mentioned. It is steep and requires fitness to tackle each day. We walked in and cabbed back for $4.00.
We shared our space with squirrels monkeys, white-faced monkeys, howler monkeys and even a three toed sloth, plus a slew of other animals. This is nature at its best.
I would recommend Emilio's, cafe Milagro and el avion in Manuel Antonio which is just a $6 cab ride or a $1 by bus.
If you are debating book, don't, this is a once in a lifetime experience in nature.

About the Host, Thomas + Lili
Moved from Switzerland 16 years ago, just love it here! The people are "pura vida", life is so easy, the climate is very healthy! Very lucky to have purchased a big piece of property in the Playa Macha area, declared as green zone, where I offer the Tree House and Villa Malinche. It's almost like the National Park, lot's of wildlife and very peaceful, surrounded by lush rain forest!
My wife Lili is a licensed physic therapist, also with a great dedication for massage treatments, she can make you feel in heaven.... Don't miss an onsite treatment during your stay!
We are happy to share this relaxed jungle feeling on our property with the people we meet through Airbnb. Just lay back in the hammocks, taste the famous coffee and watch the monkeys fly by...
