Staying with Lorraine was one of our best AirBnB experiences. Well equipped apartment. Killer bed. Good bathroom. Great kitchen (BBQ).
Lorraine is an amazing host. Very very nice. Likes to chit chat, but also provides a relaxed environment if needed.
We stayed there after a few weeks of camping in the "mountains" and needed it and Lorraine had it all. At the end we went to the Bellingen market to see her stand. Nice!
Although Lorraine was unable to be there in person to welcome us, she gave us clear directions and instructions on how to gain access to our living quarters. We found a special 'welcome' note on the blackboard beside the door, which was a lovely touch. The house was exactly as described, 'old-fashioned comforts', with the accent on comfort. Beds were made up with lots of warm doonas and pillows, tea, coffee, milk and breakfast supplies in abundance, soap, towels and everything one could want. Chocolates in the fridge were a lovely touch.
My 1 night stay after Touch Rugby World Cup in Coffs Harbour turned a very memorable one. There are so much beautiful things that I can write about. Where shall I start.... :)
Lorraine and Emma (Daughter) was very kind and wholehearted to make sure your stay is supported by all means that they can offer. Lorraine prepares a nice house and clean on-suite bed room with very spacious and clean shower & toilet area, which I really felt comfortable/pleasant using it. I felt very welcomed to the house and sense of protection by the set-up created in tranquil, green and clean environment.
The location is actually nice walking distance from the beach for a healthy adults, although Lorraine would offer a ride and pick-up to/from the beach whenever she is available. Airport pickup/drop-off is extremely helpful especially if you do not have the idea of map/directions of the town with heavy luggage. Also Lorraine cooked Tofu-stir fry which I really enjoyed.
They kindly keep basic but more than sufficient food and drinks in the guests fridge and tea coffee section had a lot of options for tea lovers.
Before I forget, I really appreciate Emma taking me for a walk in the Mutton bird Island for a walk with her 2 of the dogs. I was very happy that I was given this opportunity to see the mutton bird and also hearing some crickets singing at the sunset time and full moon coming up in the sky.
I enjoyed listening to the family history of Selmer's and how she ended up there! It really gave me some interesting insight how Australia established itself in the recent history.
When I travel alone it does not get this much personal but we talked a lot at night with some wine. I felt I was integrated into the life of Selmer's. I must admit I must admit it was the top home stay I have ever had. I felt both were really sincere and try to give as much as they have in the given condition.
I would certainly like to give more than 5 star to this listing! :D
Lorraine was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. My friends and I had total privacy, since the living area is separate from the main house. For those concerned about sleeping on the sofa bed, it was very comfortable with soft and fluffy pillows! The location is great too, with Coles supermarket 5min drive away. I would definitely recommend Lorraine's place to all. :)
Totally loved staying with Lorraine! Felt a sense of being home... relaxed, warm and welcoming!
Had my own space to myself ... and loved the way Lorraine has decorated ... she has such a flare!
Will definitely stay again!
Lorraine is an absolute gem! She's kind, considerate, funny, has nice friends (we met a couple of them), and is totally inspiring with her travel stories and large eclectic mix of art, antiques and collectibles around the house, which made staying at her place nothing short of interesting. We loved the room (it's more like a unit) - it's filled with natural light, clean, has a comfy king bed, spacious bathroom, couch, tv, complimentary breakfast items in the pantry and fridge, gas bbq on the patio where we made pancakes (yum!), everything was provided for a 5 star experience! She even gave us a lift into town (and back) for dinner, which was incredibly sweet. Staying there was one of the highlights of our trip to Coffs!
rraine made my daughter and I SO welcome.
The rooms were very clean and tidy.
With the inclusion of many extras to make our stay trouble free.
She went way beyond the usual B &B, really like a home and we were family!
Thankyou Lorraine.. We will definitely recommend our friends and anyone looking for a homely stay in Coffs Harbour.
About the Host, Lorraine
I am a fun loving, friendly and hard working mother of a grown up daughter. I am easy to get a long with and enjoy meeting new people. I have travelled extensively and have enjoyed the hospitalities of families throughout the world. I worked in hospitality in my younger years and completed a university degree in the human services as a mature age student. I now work part-time in areas associated with my studies. My main interests are my daughter, family, friends, people, my home, travel and cooking. I love hot climates and the beach. My favourite movie is Out of Africa with Meryl Streep and Robert Redford.
