Other things to note
I have three good size friendly dogs who will likely bark when you arrive .the largest and youngest is an enthusiastic greeter and may jump up to say hello. If large dogs make you uncomfortable , please let me know and I can crate this guy for your arrival. He still thinks everyone is coming just to play with him, but he's learning his manners.
I have both a fan and a small electric heater for your comfort if you should need either.

The little town of Meadows of Dan has one restaurant an amazing candy factory called Nancy's Candy and some of the nicest people you are ever likely to meet. Be sure to stop in at the Poor Farmer's Market, right in town. The is a wonderful winery nearby, the Chateau Morrisette, and of course the Blue Ridge Parkway is the alternative north/ south travel route, intersecting with Rte.58, the southern east west state highway. We are 22 miles from Floyd, VA, 26 miles from Mount Airy, NC, the Mayberry of Andy Griffith fame and about 36 miles west of Martinsville, where Nascar races take place.
