This home is not your usual type place that a builder put together for profit. I began my trade as a carpenter and woodworker 43 years ago and have run my General contracting and remodeling company for almost as many years. It was with great pleasure that I started building this house for myself after many years of my main obligation being that of managing my company.
This home to me was a way to express myself and put to task all the things and idea's that I had contemplated over the years
Wireless internet password is in the book. Kayak & canoes may be used only when wearing life jackets.
The best thing about this house is, that although it is not very far from all the amenities we are used to, it offers an atmosphere where you can get away from the stressful life most of us live. Many times we have come here with the intentions of doing something or going somewhere and have decided to just stay put and enjoy our home. It's a place where you can get lost in yourself, it is quiet, peaceful, rain or shine it always seems to be a place to go and reconnect with yourself and your family.
Sorry no public transportation but taxi's are available from Fryeburg and North Conway. Courtesy vehicle may be available for those who may fly into fryeburg airport (KIZG) from Brice and Christine.
PLEASE no smoking inside. Read the information book regarding the tv operation. Remove your shoes on the soft pine floors and be gentle on the porcelain sinks & floor, & granite counters. Do not use the front door. Thanks.
We had a wonderful weekend at Brice and Christine's home in Brownfield. It was even more than we anticipated. The home is beautiful with incredible trim work, cabinetry and furnishings. I agree that the pictures can't even do it justice. The house sits on a quiet, secluded pond, where we were allowed to use three kayaks and one canoe. There was even a gazebo with electricity, screens and the most incredible hammock chairs, which were perfect for reading.
Brice is an experienced and gracious host who is quick to address any questions or concerns you might have, both prior to booking and during your stay. It seems crazy to say this (because the photos of the place are beautiful) but they almost don't do it justice. It is easy to focus on the details, but the house is clearly put together with the "big picture" in mind of providing wonderful areas for relaxation. Our itinerary was full, but each day we were reluctant to leave, as we wanted to just enjoy the wonderful space. This was my first visit to this part of the country and I can't wait to come back again.
The experience was wonderful. We had nothing to complaint about and definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs a getaway. We spent 2 full days there and didn't feel it was enough. 5 - 7 days is recommended in order to enjoy the beauty of the house and the lake. Brice is super helpful. He patiently answered all of our questions prior to booking, greeted us when we came and showed us around, as well as provided quick responses through text during our stay. He also checked on us to make sure we were enjoying our time and was flexible regarding check in/check out time. The house was exactly as described, clean and comfortable. This was a beautiful piece of art. I was amazed by the amount of work that was put into this house. We had 7 people and it was spacious to accommodate us all. The kitchen was fully equipped with cooking and dining supplies. The lake was gorgeous. We spent the majority of our day out on the porch and kayaking on the lake (Brice has 2 kayaks and 1 canoe). Also, we did lots of bbq and there was even a fire pit. There was a gazebo in the yard that we didn't get to experience, but it looked super cool. Overall, our stay was pleasant and exceeded our expectations.
The house is first class. It's spacious, light and Brice did a wonderful job building the details. We all noted that we need to make it back when the weather is warm and stay for a longer period of time.
What a great week! The house was lovely and we really appreciated the high quality detailing and construction (we're both architects). Great kitchen with everything one could need. Brice was so generous with his warm welcome and tour of the house. The location was quiet and secluded, great for quiet evenings by the fire after a day of skiing, and large enough that our party of 5 with two children were very comfortable. What a bonus that the pond flash-froze when we were there and we could skate on such beautiful ice! A truly memorable week and my children are already asking to return. Thanks.

About the Host, Brice And Christine
I am a renovation contractor and have had my business in the Boston area for 35 years. I started building this house in Brownfield Maine about nine years ago and have enjoyed the privilege of being able to utilize my skills and create something for my family and myself. It was a long difficult task but it has been extremely rewarding to see the end result. I am hoping to be able to share this beautiful home with new friends along with my family. When I was a kid my mother brought my sister and myself to the White Mountain area often so this region has been a large part of my childhood. I enjoy all the outdoor activities available here and I try to take advantage of most of them. This winter has been the best in years for skiing and snowmobiling (finally). In the summer we like to jet ski on the pond and canoe.
