Escape to your cozy one room off grid cabin in the woods at Sawdust FarmCamp. Surrounded by the Sawdust Preserve part of the Natural History Museum of Cleveland in Geneva, Ohio. Park close to your snug cabin in the woods. Rest on the porch in a hammock or hike in the woods; the creek is a short walk down the hill. Enjoy a fire in the fire pit with s’mores or wine from one of the local wineries.

The space
Cabin fits 4 snugly; the 2 on the queen air bed is on a frame with a memory foam topper in this one room cabin. Bring your own sleeping bags for two people on the floor mat (gym mat) or use the two hammocks on the hooks inside OR you can rent a single mattress with linens for $15. During May-Sept you can bring your own tent for up to 2 more people. OR we also have a tent $10 and queen mattress with linens for $15 (queen does not fit in cabin tent only).

Extra blankets are provided during colder weather and an indoor propane heater to supplement the cast iron cook stove for heat. Counter, cabinets with cooking utensils, dishes and propane Colman camp stove and fan. Padded bench, chair, stool, two folding tables and two folding chairs. "Letters From Sawdust", a book written about these woods for the Cleveland Natural History's Explorer Magazine along with many other books and games as well as art supplies and toys.

Outside on the covered porch you have a cafe table with two chairs and more hammock hooks. For your use a fire pit, picnic bench, and an Amish out-house about 40 feet from the cabin. OUTSIDE PROPANE HEATED SHOWER is available ONLY AT ABOVE FREEZING TEMPERATURES (May-Sept). Inside and outside solar lights with 2 USB OUTLETS.

This is off grid so NO ELECTRICAL OUTLETS, NO RUNNING WATER and NO REFRIGERATION.
HEATING is WOOD during the day and PROPANE heater at night. Fire wood and fire starting materials are provided. Included in cleaning fee is water for drinking (Primo) and washing (blue water cube) propane and a load of wood for inside and outside. CLEANING FEE INCLUDES FIRST LOAD OF FIRE WOOD Additional wood can be purchased for $20 for the fire pit and small wood for inside $15, cooler is available upon request.

Parking area is located just down the trail from the cabin only bout 4 car lengths long this is also shared with the tent renters. Tent is located a 3 minute walk from the parking area back into the woods so you will have your privacy.

LOCAL LODGING TAX OF 5% is collected separately from booking payment. We will send a request for payment after your stay.

Do to COVID-19 we have added additional disinfecting of all frequently touched surfaces to our cleaning routine.

The cabin is set back from the gravel road about 1/4 mile and a 3 min walk from our house. Completely surrounded by woods. Nearest neighbors are on the other side of our house about 1/4 mile and about a mile the other direction. We have some new neighbors building a house across the street also set back from the road in the woods. Short drive to Thompson Ledges for some great rock formations, Thompson Speed Way; Geneva is 15 min, Geneva-on-the-Lake is 25 min. Closest wineries are Debonne and Grand River and many others at 3.6 miles. Also a dinner on Thompson Square near the Ledges called Stockers on the Park (cash only) amazing Sunday Breakfast menu. My husband, Morgan and two girls and I generally travel together. We are building a homestead where we have enjoyed hosting our tiny cabin in the woods. Took the leap to homeschool and are now hoping to travel more.

We love to meet our guests and we'll respect guests wish for privacy. Should you need anything we are right next door. Please communicate if you should have any problems we can't resolve some things after your stay is over.
