Penthouse facing the park, side view of ocean, block from Ipanema beach.

Countless restaurants, bars, clubs, markets and shops all at walking distance. Best public transportation in town, no need for car or taxi. Next to subway, easy to go and come back from all parts of town.

You will be renting the entire apartment. It has 100square meters and two rooms (one suit) and two bathrooms. All rooms come with bed sheets, towels and air-conditining. Terrace, living room and a full equipped kitchen, microwave and electric grill, fast wi-fi internet , 24hr doorman, laundry machine in the flat.

2 bicycles at your disposal.

House Maid - Comes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
She cleans, cooks (can prepare salads and tropical fruits) , does groceries and can wash some clothes at the washtub.

Parking for one car.

  • Rio is a fantastic and vibrant city, and Francisco's flat couldn't be in a better location! The metro is about a 5-minute (or less) walk away, the bus stop is directly outside; the flat overlooks a park where there is also a weekly fruit/vegetable market and the beach is in sight from the terrace of the flat. There are countless restaurants, and corner juice/snack stops to choose from also right in the vicinity. A wonderful choice for your holiday!!
    As for Francisco, he could not have been more accommodating. I was at a point of annoying with my endless inquiries, to which he kindly and promptly responded to without complaint. He was truly a fantastic host, making our vacation and accommodations a VERY pleasant experience! It is without hesitation that I highly recommend Francisco's flat. Enjoy!!

  • Francisco's apartment was a perfect home base for our stay in Rio. The location is excellent: super close to Ipanema beach, the metro, and good restaurants, bars and shops in Ipanema. The apartment is nice, I specially loved the balcony and the living room. The bedrooms are simple but functional and have air conditioning for those hot Rio summer nights. Francisco was friendly and easy to deal with - I only met him once when he handed me the keys. I can warmly recommend his place.

    A localizacao era perfeita! Perto de tudo, praia, bares, restaurantes!! O apartamento esta tudo moviliado y no faltaba nada!!

  • Francisco has the best apartment in Rio. Location, location, location and it's got a fabulous roof terrace where you can sunbathe and see Praça in Ipanema.

    The apartment is lovely and I slept incredibly well in the main bedroom.

    Francisco was great to deal with - very attentive and available.

    I travel all the time to Rio and this was by far the best apartment I have stayed in.

  • My wife and I stayed in Francisco's apartment for a week. The location, as we had known before we arrived, was excellent, but the apartment itself is
    like a slum. The chairs were broken, with big holes in the seats, the lights did not work, the electrical sockets were hanging out of the wall, one of the 'bathrooms' was entirely unusable, the other could barely be used, with tepid water coming out of *one* tap, *eventually*, the only light in the bedroom made it impossible to read in bed before falling asleep, etc. There was absolutely no way that I could work at the table in the evening, as there was no light around: I had to squat on my bed with my laptop. The main room of the apartment had no lights one could use at all: all electrical outlets looked totally unsafe. This apartment in its present condition is a disgrace to its location.

    I have no doubt that Francisco is a very nice man, but he should be asked to spend *one* week's rent on the necessary repairs
    to bring his apartment up to an acceptable level. I am very sorry to leave this very bad review, but the apartment *should* be put into order.

    I really should upload some of the photos I took of the broken appliances to illustrate the points I have made, but there seems to be no way to do it.

  • This was our first experience using AirBnB. We chose this particular apartment because it came recommended by colleagues and the reviews were mostly positive. However, our stay was not as positive as previous visitors' experiences.
    Francisco was very attentive and responsive as a host prior to and during our stay. He responded to email immediately and genuinely seemed concerned about our comfort.
    We were incredibly surprised and disappointed upon our arrival. The location is definitely first rate - two blocks from the beach, directly in front of the plaza, surrounded by fabulous restaurants. However, the apartment itself left A LOT to be desired.
    The first thing that hit us as we opened the door was a very strong unpleasant odor that was a cross between a dirty wet dog and fish. It lingered for the duration of our stay. We had to go purchase toilet paper, there was none. The host had left trash in the trashcan in the living room, wet clothes in the washing machine, dog shampoo in the shower and flea spray in another bathroom. At least 2 of the four chairs were broken and not able to be sat upon and the oversized chair in the living room appeared to have been scratched and torn repeatedly by some sort of animal (a cat I am guessing) down one side of it. The bath mats were dirty and old and one of the bedspreads was stained. The absolute worse was the pullout bed in the back bedroom. There is a metal rod that is right in the middle of the bed when folded out which is incredibly uncomfortable to sleep on. My colleague's husband actually had to sleep on the two person sofa in the living room and my colleague actually left with bruises from the four nights of attempted sleep on that pullout bed. We never could get the hot water heater to work in the showers so had very cold showers every day. The shower floor itself in the suite bathroom are two old and mildewed wooden crates.
    When I contacted Francisco the second day we were there to inform him of our displeasure he immediately emailed and was quite defensive, although he did promise to stop by and see what he could do help alleviate the situation. We never did see him, but to his defense we spent the majority of time out of the apartment and he very well could have stopped by to check on things. We just never saw him and the smell continued every day and night.
    We thought we might be expecting too much so invited a few other colleagues over to view the apartment to confirm our disappointments and they indeed saw and smelled the same things we did. Several of our colleagues were also renting AirBnB apartments within blocks and all of theirs were much better for about the same price.
    We will not be recommending nor staying at this place again. Sorry Francisco.

    False feedback ! The dozens of positive reviews about my flat and me speak for myself!!! The listing Amaris is complaining about is 100% the same that so many airbnb guests gave very postitive reviews about. My reputation speaks for herself!!!

    Amaris is the worst guest i've had!!! This guest is the only true bad experience i have ever had with airbnb after hosting dozens of guests :( This is also the first bad review i have ever written !!! She arrived in my flat wanting to complain and find problems where there weren't any!!! She made unprecise, unfair and false complaints and criticism and was unwilling to let me address the issues she raised up. She did not want me to fix the alleged issues and did not even reply to the emails that i sent questioning her complaints when i inimically took her complaints as legitimate right upon her arrival. When it became obvious that her complaints where unprecise and false, she changed them to new ones. She is not welcome in my place and i don't recommend her to airbnb! Watch out everyone !!!!
    She is a person that likes and wants to complain. Below a few examples:
    -Unfortunatelly my cat died over a year ago. While Amaris was under the impression that i had a pet she complained my flat smelled of dirty pet. When she realized that i did not have a pet any more, she changed her complaint and said my place smelled like fish !
    -She arrived late at my flat, while i waited for her in the living room i drank orange juice in a tetrapack box that was discarted in the living room trash can. This single paper box was enough for her to state that found the flat uppon her arrival with "trash on the livingroom".
    -After her initial complaints, while i still did not know her and still believed she was a normal person, i wrote her two emails asking more details about the issues she addressed. I also passed by the apartment 4 times and left her notes. Never got a single reply ! She did not want her complaints to be addressed, she wanted to complaint.
    -She never mentioned to my any hot water issue. If true, this could easily have been fixed!
    -Bathroom cabnit was full of toilet paper
    -Other (satisfied) guests left the day Amaris arrived and obviously the bedsheets and towels they had used had ben washed in the laundry and were still wet. I don't have a dryer and the laundry hangs to dry. To me , this is a sign that cleanness
    -She never complained to me about broken chair !
    -I could go on with more examples, but i think i have already made my point :)

    People that work in the service industry once in a while have to deal with people like Amaris. A customer that has some kind o issue in their personal life and see in the service provider the opportunity to unleash their frustrations on someone that has to listen to them , and exercise their desire to complain. I believe this is the case here.
    My many, many , many positive reviews speak for me and my lovely penthouse!
