Lovely host, gorgeous apartment loft in great location with only a few minutes to amazing restaurants, great cocktails, 2 metro stations and many shops and attractions. The loft itself is stylish, spacious for 2 people and is very funky! We loved the large skylights, cute bathroom, lovely kitchen and great coloured mood lighting throughout. Karl met us on arrival and was very kind, spent time telling us great local places to visit and showing us on the metro map he had given us too. He had given us a lovely bottle of French red wine which we enjoyed on our first evening in Paris. Such a great place and lovely host - would definitely visit again! Thanks Karl for a wonderful stay and would highly recommend to anyone!

Lovely, clean loft apartment with comfy beds and in a good location for accessing metro. Very cute decor and attic windows, you can look out above at the moon and stars. Apartment has everything you will need, including a lovely bottle of wine on arrival to make your special occasion. As others have said, the apartment is 5 stories up with no lift but not a problem for us. Karl was a great host, making sure we had everything we need and giving local recommendations.

I came back just yesterday from a 4 night holiday in Paris with my girlfriend and our staying in Karl's loft was great. Karl has been very helpful from the beginning, quickly replying to every question I did (and I am quite an anxious person) both via email and text. As noted from other people the only downside is being at the 5th floor without elevator, but that's it. The apartment is small but tidy, perfect for a couple and has about everything you'd need. The bed is comfy, the lights are nice(I WANT the colour changing lamp), the heating works good. though I didn't used the electric cooker I managed someway to make work the microwave/oven. And the bathroom mirror is huge, perfect for putting make up on (my gf's note). And the bottle of red wine provided is a very kind thing. The street is filled with clothing shops and is not really noisy, at least in the morning and at night. The surroundings are ok, better on the "south" side of the street. There are lots of Metro lines close at hand but you won't mostly need any if you enjoy a walk, Louvre, Rue de Rivoli, Seine, are about a 10-15 minutes walk indeed and the streets in the area are full of cafes, bistrot, supermarkets, restaurants, food stands and sort of. It has been a good experience and a great alternative to Paris hotels!!

We love our stay at the Loft Karl in Paris. It was very nice and greeted us personally, giving several tips on the Loft and about Paris. The place is super cozy and comfortable, with very practical facilities. Another positive point is its easy location, where within minutes we have access to two metro stations to the main lines. We recommend to all!

A very unique loft in a great location! Close to train stations, grocery stores and within walking distance of many of the sights. Karl provided excellent instructions for getting to the loft and was extremely helpful by phone during our stay. A great experience! We would not hesitate to stay again or recommend to others. Karl was amazing, he gave such specific directions and was very thorough in helping us to get settled in. The French wine was delightful and our children loved their little home away from home in Paris. My husband and I would most definitely stay again, as the loft is a very romantic space. Also, the famous Rue de Montegruiel is just a few blocks away and has a great range of restaurants and local boulangere, fromagerie...etc. Thank you Karl for such a wonderful stay.

Jody
Great Location and easy to find from the Metro. The local market street is fantastic and you are straight into Parisan Life Although small the appartment has all you need, the lcoation makes up for the 5 flights of stairs. Loved staying here, Thanks Karl for the opportunity to live in Paris.

Isabel
Karl is a great host and his house is AMAZING. Karl contacted us on out first morning in Paris and gave us the low down of the house, cool things to see in Paris and tours to take. It was a great start to our time in Paris The apartment is the quint essential Parisian apartment - perfect when you want to merge into the city!!! Located on the 5th floor, the house has everything a person needs from an oven, essential after food shopping down at the market to fast Wifi, great to research places to visit and restaurants to eat at! The location is perfect, 3 minutes away from Rue Montreguil - my favorite Parisian street, super close to (more than) two different Metro lines, short walk to the Lourvre, Champs-Elysee, Lafayette, Les Halles... If you are looking for location in Paris - look no further, this place is it!!

You will have a wonderful and unforgettable stay here:-)

Warm regards,

Karl

  • Karl was amazing :) He was hospitable and made sure everything was perfect for us. The only issue was that we were on the 5th floor and had 6 suitcases to carry up those stairs (but really that is our own problem for not checking what floor it was on). The apartment was clean and adorable. It is definitely a romantic spot and is close to everything in Paris. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

  • The location is really good: Center of Paris (which means close to all nice places - but also with prostitutes in all corners around, which is kinda gross).
The apartment is small (it looks bigger in the pics) and I would say it can only accommodate 2 people maximum.

I didn't care much for the stairs because we knew upfront the place was in the 5th floor...but if you have problems with stairs, don't even consider it.

Karl (the owner) was very thoughtful and gave us a bucket of info about Paris, the places around, and even did some cleaning when we pointed it out there were spider webs near the roof (I'm allergic to spiders). The apartment was not clean in general and it was covered in dust in many areas. Pots and dishes had mold on it too. Nothing that would disgust us but still not like we expected.

However the worst was in our third day, when we came back to the apartment and Karl was inside the place with 3 other guys. We had no idea he would stop by without letting us know and especially when we were not there!!! This is totally unacceptable and made us very uncomfortable.
He apologized and explained the guys needed to check the apartment for some renovation he is planning.
But we got very angry... He didn't call us before and all our belongings (including passports, money, credit cards, computer, iPods, etc) were in the house (not even hidden).
If we knew in advance we would have stayed in during his "visit" or at least take our things from the place. Nothing went missing but after that we decided to never leave anything of value in the apartment - and that sucks bc you don't want to carry your passport and all your money while you're walking over Paris (otherwise we would have stayed in a hostel).

Overall it was okay, overpriced for the accommodations and I would highly recommend Karl to let his guests know in advance if he plans to visit the apartment while they are away. (Seriously, not cool!)

  • Very cute apartment in great location with everything you need for a weekend in Paris. Ideal for a couple.
Access was very easy and I would definitely stay there again.

  • Excellent little loft, great location, very comfortable free wifi was very useful to research where to go out, host was very helpful, couldn't have asked for more really!

    Voto complessivo 7.

  • Karl's flat was ideal for my stay in Paris. yes, it's a hike to get up there, but the space is super cute and well-cared for. The walls are a little thin (the neighbor and I apparently had the same wake up alarm on our phones, which was disorienting in the morning!), but at night everything quiets down.

Had a little issue with the internet during my stay, but Karl kept in touch with me about it and it worked out. In general, Karl was super communicative and easy to get ahold of, and incredibly helpful.

All in all a great stay in a convenient location.

    February 2014
  • Karl's loft was perfect, just as described. His communication before and during our stay was fantastic, and he did everything to make it stress free. Brilliant, central place to stay in Paris.
