My host was courteous and extremely kind and collected me from the station and took me to the apartment. The apartment is in a quiet beautiful area in easy walking distance to the old town. The accommodation is very clean and comfortable and well equipped, and actual far too well appointed for my shirt stay. I would definitely recommend it to others and ope to take my wife their next time we visit Haarlem or the Nethetlands. Many Thanks.
We had a great stay in Haarlem. The appartment was very clean and cosy. It's super central. We went to Amsterdam, Zandvoort and Den Haag. In the evening, we relaxed on the couch watching German TV (ARD, ZDF, RTL, WDR, arte).
In a nutshell: Haarlem is lovely and the appartment and the host Roland are great.
We stayed in Corina and Roland's apartment for two nights in January, 2015. Roland made the check-in very easy, and even offered to pick me up from the train station if needed. The apartment was very clean, centrally located, had a comfortable bed, and met our needs for a short weekend break perfectly. The information book on the coffee table provided useful information for our stay. We would highly recommend this apartment and would stay here again if we visit Haarlem again.
This is a great spot... convenient neighborhood, clean, comfortable. Roland was very accommodating with our arrival, and there's a great compilation of local information available on the table. As good as it was for just a couple of days, Roland & Corina's apartment would be perfect for a longer stay, thanks to a well-equipped kitchen and both washer AND dryer.
I agree with the other rave reviews—this is an excellent apartment in every way. The location makes it a good home base for exploring Haarlem and Amsterdam and other cities accessible by train. The train station is about an 11 minute walk (septuagenarians pulling suitcases) away and there are frequent trains to Amsterdam. You can reach Schiphol Airport rapidly by train with one transfer, but we liked the #300 red bus which is direct but takes a little longer. The #300 bus stops in front of the Haarlem train station and in front of the airport. It reliably takes 40 minutes or less even in rush hour because it has its own lane. There are 4-10 per hour. You buy your ticket on the bus.
We were met by the affable owner who explained how everything worked, answered our questions, and gave us a local map and his very complete loose-leaf book with details on the apartment, the locale, and transportation. The apartment is very well equipped as described on the website, and also has soap/detergent for the dishwasher and clothes washer, and unexpected bonus supplies such as olive oil, balsamic vinegar, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, and some cold drinks.
The apartment seemed to be very safe, being behind two locked doors in a sedate and attractive residential neighborhood. The apartment is on a quiet lane and the only cars are those of the residents. We were there three days and found it to be generally very quiet except for church bells that mark the hours but fortunately stop at 9 PM, and neighbors talking on their balconies on Saturday evening but not on Sunday or Monday evenings. We will be back!
Our host picked us up form the train station and took us to the apartment in his car. The apartment was wonderful. Everything that you could possibly need was available. We had a sunny weekend so it was lovely to sit on the balcony with the view on the tower. The neighborhood was very quiet while still on walking distance from the market square.
I have just returned from a lovely time in haarlem. After seeing all the good reviews I am glad I listened. The area was perfect. Very relaxed and with shops close by that I could very on the free bikes and have a nice ride around. The apartment was perfect for me and my gf and we made good use of the balcony. Everything we needed was at hand and I especially liked the coffee machine. Easy traveling in to amsterdam with a 20 minute train. I would highly recommended.
From mid April 2014 we offer this cosy and fully furnished accommodation in the center of Haarlem. He is a teacher economics and a kitesurfer, she is a nurse and together we manage this apartment.
The appartment is fully available for those interested the beautiful city and surrounding areas like Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and the beach to visit.
