Not far from historical monuments and museums, Served by SEVERAL lines of bus and subway stations 3 (3 minutes away). Situated in quiet street near immediate of bars and restaurants. Raised floor with elevator and caretaker. Balcony sight is clear. Toilets separated from the bathroom. Big furnished apartment fitted out for 2 persons. 740 Euros per week
beautiful appartement located in the middle of wonderful marais and bastille. comfortable furnished and nice view over the roofs.
the contact to the host was as it should be. friendly, short and easy.
would like to come back, perhaps i`ll take my own coffe maker for the morning.....
Apartment overall is very nice, but for airbnb deal it's not a friendly and convenient place. No space for clothes, tiny towels 3 for 3 people, 1 key,no glasses, every cabinet in apartment is closed. So we have to buy towels, glasses, do key copy
If you don't need anything of these so go ahead it's nice place in nice neighborhood
Hi, my stay with Fatima was very good. I did not see her, because when I got to the flat she was busy and her mother gave us all the information and the keys. And when we -we were three- left, left the key inside the house.
The flat was beatiful, big and plenty of light. About the past complaints on the shower, there was a new door so the water remained inside it :) Two of us slept in the bedroom and other one in the couch, which is long and comffortable.
I liked the experience.
For us, the stay in Fatima's appartment was very comfortable. The appartment has much light, is peaceful, big and comfortable. As we like to keep things private, we were grateful not to have too much contact to the host. It was all easy. We'd like to go back!
J'ai passé un très bon séjour de ce très bel appartement pour mes concours, je le recommande vivement!
Nice apartment, Ms F. the Host: not sure!!!
I am a traveler without big needs. I could as easily accommodate myself in a 5 diamond hotel as in a simple room lost in the middle of Asia. Just a welcome and good manners make the difference. This Airbnb experience was not the best one.
For my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, I invited them for 5 days in Paris. I booked the Bastille/ Marais apt. from Ms F. The booking went ok with a minimum of effort from Ms F.
Unfortunately, due to the French airport strike, our flight was cancelled and we were put on a late flight a day after, so we lost one night. Trying to postpone our arrival for one night, there was no way to negotiate that with Ms F. Even though the apartment looked free in the calendar, ‘business is business’. Only a 2.30 pm checkout was possible (so kind!!!)
Communication: It was a stressful to get the key for late arrival, with some emails and SMS unanswered. Managed finally to insist and call again, finally an answer.
- good location
- quiet place
- architectural character, very Parisian style
-(update to the previous reviews) A solid glass partition was installed in the shower, so no more flooding
- Internet is working, I used my iPad
- No welcoming experience, Ms F. Is just a shadow. She manages everything with a short and a delayed answer SMS style. Be ready to receive SMS answers or a request from her very late, which could be in the middle of the night, or at 2 am. Turn off your cellphone.!!!
- You can't make the use of the kitchen. It is just decorative. The cabinets are locked. Just a few glasses and plates are at your disposal.
- Bring your toilet paper and soap
- Bring your own coffee maker or teapot
- Bring your own wine glasses, if you are planning to have a glass of wine overlooking the Parisian roofs...
- Difficult to adjust the hot/ cold shower water.
- Not even a tiny effort from the host, so mean! Departure day, be ready to receive a message from her asking you to take out the washing and put the used towels, sheets, etc in the washing machine ready to be washed. If you did not execute the task, you will received an SMS saying that is not kind of you. ''mais quel culot!''
My first morning, no way to find a coffee maker, I send an SMS to Ms F. asking where I could find it or should I forget a hot morning coffee overlooking the roofs... The answer was short: just forget!!! Couldn't be more rude!
If you are looking for just a bed and a shower, off for a day, it could be the place, but think twice! I am convinced that through Airbnb a much better option could be easily found!
This apartment is located on a quiet street on the edge of the Marais - the location is perfect. Wonderful boulangerie on the corner, grocery store on the block, metro three minute walk away, etc. The apartment itself is lovely and very comfortable. Hardwood floors, large windows, spacious layout, small nice balcony. The shower worked perfectly for us, as did the heat and the appliances. Since the building is slightly old, you can sometimes hear your neighbors upstairs, but overall it was quiet and not an issue. F was an extremely welcoming and attentive host - she even checked in to wish us a "happy New Years/Bonne Année!" We hope to return to Paris and stay in this great apartment soon!
I would agree on a few points of the reviewer below me. The apartment is very large and in a great part of the city for getting a taste of Paris away from the really touristy areas while being really close (walking or by metro) to everything you would like to see in the city.
My sister and I stayed in the flat for a week and the shower was a hassle. With the shower curtain not being completely waterproof, not reaching the floor and you really needing to hold the nozzle the entire time to minimize water spraying all over the bathroom ( and the un-tiled shower walls) it makes for an inconvenient shower situation. No you can not use the overhead shower head shown, as per the host.
And no you cannot use the wardrobes and cabinets shown. They are padlocked. I understand this is likely the host's residence and to expect her to move out all of her belonging each time there is a rental is a bit much but it would have been nice to not feel like I had to live out of my suitcase for a week. It would have been good to have had a place to hang some of the dresses I had with me. So if you chose this flat to rent, take note and maybe plan to use the curtain rod as someone else mentioned and I considered but I didn't have enough hangers with me.
We did not see FT once in our stay and she did not provide the suggestions we requested and she had promised she would provide upon our arrival.
Although she was mostly polite in texts and emails, we did not feel welcomed or particularly wanted and we certainly would not rent from her again. Which is a shame being that the apartment is a great size in a great location. But when I spend 8+ hours in museums and running around the city I want to be able to then take a relaxing shower in a place I feel welcomed.
Beautiful apartment with great location. I have to say the kitchen, location, size, and balcony (though small) were the highlights. This apartment is located in the Bastille quarter which is one of the better quarters to get a feel for local flavor within the city while being close to the city center (according to my parisien friends). I appreciate the value you get from staying at an apartment of this size (compared to most flats for this price in Paris). I recommend this space for 2 people.
The only drawbacks were lack of internet (the signal is weak and only worked in the middle of the nights - around 2am), and the shower. Though there was a curtain, it was about 2 feet off the ground so bathroom would get wet. Also, the person who showed us the apartment was a french speaker only (no english), it worked out nonetheless because I am a conversational french speaker.
To be honest, I am a traveler with little needs so I have no complaints about this apartment, loved it.
A few tips for future airbnb renters to this flat- If you intend on using the washer/dryer please be sure to ask for detailed instructions - it is all in french. Also, there is no place to hang up clothes (only drawers), we only had two outfits needing to be hung so we used provided hangers put them up on the curtain rod in the bedroom. Bring your own towels as well.
Thanks Fatima for lending us your lovely home!
