Interaction with Guests
Our friendly volunteer coordinator Arnaud lives at the house and will be present on arrival of guests. The house is home to the volunteers who work with 'My Small Help' who are very welcoming and helpful. There is a very relaxed, homely environment.
Ollantaytambo is a old inca archaeological site located in the heart of the sacred valley. It is the most common starting point for tourist doing a 3/4 day trek to Machu Picchu and also the point where tourists come to catch the train to Machu Picchu.
It is a very quaint town with friendly, helpful locals.
The town is located approximately 1.5 hours from Cusco and is extremely easy to get to on public transport or by private taxi.
We are less than 3 minutes walk to the Plaza de Armas (main square), 15 minutes to the train station for Machu Picchu, next door to Full Moon Lodge and across the street from Don Lucios English Pub.
I enjoyed my one night stay at MiPequenaAyuda immensely. Even though my Spanish is almost non-existent the folks and volunteers here made me feel welcome and at home right away. The room was clean and comfortable. The fact that they are helping out disabled kids in the area is an added bonus that made me like the place even more.
Although myself and my sister only had a short stay since we used this as a jumping off point for Machu Picchu, Mayra and everyone here was very welcoming and helpful. Location was ideal as close walk to the main square. Our room was simple but had a comfy bed and a beautiful view. We only wish we could have stayed longer! Loved that our time spent here was helping this lovely organization, thank you!
Loved my short stay at MiPequenaAyuda. Everyone was truly welcoming and felt right at home. They are doing an amazing job in the region as well!
I would have loved to stay much longer. Will be back for sure! :)
Mayra was so helpful in finding us a room in a joint hostel since hers was all filled. We can wait to stay updated on the programs progress :-)

I am Arnaud! I live in Ollantaytambo and have decided to open my house to other travellers. I am the volunteer coordinator for My Small Help/Mi Pequeña Ayuda. All the income we receive in our Airbnb goes to this non-profit where I'm helping children with disabilities. Fell free to write with any questions you may have.
