Interaction with Guests
As much or as little as the guest(s) would like. Typically we give them a walk-through with the keys, going over things like how to operate the wood stove in the winter, then like to go through the place with them when they're leaving.
The property is great for animal watching, and birding, with trails for hiking. Very dog friendly.

The mad duck pond is an incredible place! So quiet, peaceful, rustic, and unique. They really have an attention to detail in every aspect of the home and yard from the bonfire pit, the chicken coup and the garden, to the gorgeous bathroom, paintings on the walls and cooking tools at your disposal. I would give a 10 star rating if they had one and am excited to sometime pass back thru Canajoharie and stay there again!
Thank you so much! Jason and I had an amazing birthday/valentines day weekend at the cabin. Tolga and Joe were very responsive before our stay and super flexible about our check in and check out times. They did an exceedingly thorough job showing us around upon our arrival and checking in on us during our stay. Very welcoming and considerate. The wood burning stove worked amazingly to keep the cabin warm and was easy to use. (If you are planing to stay during subzero temps as we did please keep in mind you will need to wake up multiple times each night to feed the fire)
We mostly lounged around the cozy cabins relaxing, but also ventured out for snowshoeing around the property.
We had such a great time and hope to come back again this summer! Thank you!!
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at mad duck pond. The cabin is beautiful and joe was very helpful when we arrived. The heated blanket In the loft was an excellent touch!
I used the Mad Duck Pond as a stop on a trip I was taking from Ohio to Maine with my two dogs. Tolga and Joe were great. They prepped the cabin for my arrival; walked me through everything when I arrived; and were great with my two dogs. I was looking for a secluded cabin with land to hike with the dogs and that is exactly what I found.
Wow. Where do I begin? Both the cabin and the experience were the perfect compliment to an ideal winter weekend escape. A truly unique, serene home bursting with charisma; which you can see and feel as soon as you walk through the door. From the cozy wood burning stove to the antiques and paintings, you can really get a feel for the creative effort that went into making this picturesque cabin a reality. Tolga and Joe couldn't have made us feel any more at home. Their vibe was very much in sync with the cabins. Tolga contacted me immediately after I had booked, and had such a friendly demeanor that I felt welcome before I'd even arrived. I can't overstate our hosts hospitality and our unforgettable experience at Mad Duck Pond. The only down side was spending just one night there! This is certainly a place I'm actively planning on visiting again.
Our weekend at Mad Duck Pond was exactly as we hoped it would be: the cabin is overflowing with character and lovingly maintained on a picture perfect property. Tolga was immediately responsive to all of our questions, and Joe could not have taken better care of us while we were there. Within ten minutes of our arrival, we knew we'd found a place to return to. We can't wait to get back to Mad Duck Pond!
