About this listing
Stay in my modern industrial 1-bedroom apartment in the heart of the West Village. Exposed brick walls and rough-hewn wooden furniture will make you feel like a true part of the village's rich artsy history.
My modern industrial apartment is in the heart of the West Village, often referred to as "the best neighborhood in America." You'll literally be just a step outside the door to some of New York's best restaurants, shopping boutiques, cocktail/wine bars, art galleries, coffee shops, and much more. Explore the tranquility of the West Village's side streets or bathe in the sun just a block away at the Christopher St. Pier. Take a quick stroll to the Meatpacking District or the High Line or grab a Citibike and peddle your way to Chelsea Market. You honestly couldn't be in a more perfect location for food, entertainment, and shopping.
The apartment is easily accessible on the 1st floor (no stairs to climb) and uses window shades that pull up from the bottom to provide plenty of privacy, while allowing for maximum sunlight. The exposed brick walls and rough-hewn wooden furniture will make you feel like a true part of the village's rich artsy history. The apartment contains a diverse art collection and there is a certain softness under the punky facade – in the Buddha statues, the caricature drawings, and the graphic throw pillows.
-A leather couch as comfortable as a well-loved jacket that folds out into a queen sofa bed should you have extra guests.
-Railroad coffee table cart that converts into a dining table for those nights you cook or order in
-Faux fireplace surrounded by Edison bulbs to ease you into your evening.
-42" HDTV plasma Smart TV w/ Netflix & Apple TV
-Black granite and steel appliances (including a dishwasher and stove/oven) strike a perfect chord in the galley-style kitchen, where the island is made of reclaimed bowling lane wood.
-Every cooking appliance you could possible need (KitchenAid mixer, Vitamix, Sous Vide, etc).
-Insanely comfortable queen memory-foam bed with down comforter
-Roll-out drawers under bed for your clothes
-Sunrise alarm clock for your iPhone
There is some street parking and three parking garages within a two block radius.
In addition to the endless shopping and restaurants in the West Village (see my guidebook), nearby attractions include the High Line, Chelsea Market, the Meatpacking District, and the World Trade Center Memorial.
JFK Airport is a 30 minute cab ride w/o traffic
LaGuardia Airport is a 20 minute cab ride w/o traffic
The wifi is available for you to use. Use anything in the pantry (spices, etc), the TV, washer/dryer, etc. There will be little closest space available, but you can use the large roll-out drawers under the bed, the shelves in the bedroom, and if you need to hang anything, use the coat hooks in the living room.
Interaction with Guests
I will not be there, but will let you know how to enter the apartment.
The West Village is often described as the best neighborhood in America. Once the home of struggling artists in the 60s, its now famous for celebrity sightings, beautiful streets, and the best food, bars, and shopping New York has to offer.
The Path train is one block away. And you are a quick walk to either the 1 or A,C,E subway trains in either direction. There is also a public CitiBike rack a block away in case you want to get around on a bike (which I highly recommend).
Please treat my place with love and respect. My apartment is awesome, and it will be awesome to you if you are awesome to it. Once it is booked, I will inform you about entry, wifi password, etc. I expect the house to be left just as you found it. Please clean up, use the dishwasher, etc. There is no smoking in the apartment. Also, please leave a review. Enjoy!
This was my first abnb...Christof was always quick to respond when I had a question and was super apologetic when we had a glitch with the key. His place is just as pictured and in a great location.
The place is small, but amazingly cool and well decorated. Location is perfect, and all the little things were great: comfortable bed, great water pressure in the shower, washer and dryer in the unit etc.
Key pickup was seamless and I was able you check out late as well!
Christof was fantastic so helpful with all the information for around New York. He made our stay really awesome. The apartment was exactly how it was expanded on Airbnb. It was perfect for my husband and I and our 2 kids. it was really close to some really fun places to eat and gave you a real feeling our living in the heart of west village.
Christof's apartment was more that I could have imagined!! Awesome interior design! Clean with everything needed to stay for 3 nights. Christof was in continuous contact with me starting when I made the reservation. I shared with him my interest in yoga and he provided yoga studio information in the neighborhood. Additionally, an Elena Brower yoga book was left on the coffee table for my enjoyment. Also, Christof assured me of coffee shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. I have stayed in NYC many times visiting my son over the past 20 years. This is my absolute favorite place to stay. Very convenient location to MeatPacking, West Village, Hudson River, restaurants, coffee shops, transportation, etc.
Christof has a fantastic apartment! The location is excellent – on a quiet street in West Village only a block away from restaurants and shops and a couple of blocks to the subway. The apartment was great –super comfortable bed, very clean, and great décor. Christof was a fantastic host – great communication throughout! We stayed for three nights. I highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay here again!
One of the best places I have stayed in NY. Location is perfect and the apartment is impeccable. Fluent and easy communication for check in and out.
The place was great and had everything we needed. It was easy to communicate with Christof and he was a gracious host.
