Wonderful, quiet 1 bedroom private apartment (that sleeps 4 people) with outdoor patio in 24 hour doorman building in the heart of the lively East Village.
***PLEASE DO NOT MAKE RESERVATION REQUEST UNTIL I CONFIRM AVAILABILITY!!!!***
THE DESCRIPTION: This new apt in the East Village would be perfect for a couple, 2 couples or small group of family and friends who want to experience living in a fantastic apartment in NYC while saving a few bucks from pricey NYC hotels that are located in the heart of the tourist frenzy areas in midtown. It's very clean, extremely quiet, spacious and has things no hotel can offer.
This posting is for use of an entire private apartment with a bedroom, full bathroom, fully stocked kitchen, living room, dining area and 2 outdoor patios! This awesome apartment building has a killer roof deck with panoramic views of all of NYC and bridges. The building is manned with a 24 HOUR Doorman / Security to keep us safe.
Start from $ 200 / night (minimum 7 nights).
Stays less than 7 nights are 250/night (Fri,Sat,Sun) and/or 225/night Mon-Thurs). Prices vary due to other circumstances as well. During summer months (May through September), the minimum stay is 3 nights (on weekends), unless it precedes or adds to an existing reservation. I will send special offer to reflect the correct pricing.
Additional guests after the first 2 people are $ 30 per person per night. Maximum is 5 people.
Cleaning charges: Cleaning is included for stays up to 7 nights. Stays more than 7 nights are $ 60 which you will pay directly to house cleaner who will come and clean apt and do laundry (towels + sheets) once per week (Mon or Tues) after your 7th night.
The patio off the kitchen is just perfect for a cup of coffee in the morning with some sun which faces the beautiful courtyard with little to no street noise.
If you're the physical type, there is a gym (free) for your use in the basement of the building as well as a laundry room (coin operated), vending machines and ATM as well.
The unit has a fully stocked kitchen: full size fridge/freezer, dishwasher, gas stove/oven, microwave, top of the line stainless cookware, utensils, dishware, glassware and a full private bathroom.
The Building and Neighborhood: This building complex has 125 units, mostly 2 bedrooms, but this is a special 3 BR Duplex with outdoor patios! I split the apt into 2 apartments, making this a 1 bedroom private apartment.
This neighborhood is very lively after the sun goes down. The East Village has been heavily built up over the last 5 years and located in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Manhattan. The East Village offers a variety of restaurants, cafes, bars and a beautiful park. You can walk to Indian, Russian, Italian, Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Vegetarian and American restaurants within a 5 block radius. If you're too tired and beat up from touring NYC and don't feel like going anywhere, you can simply order in and have anything delivered to the room (usually until 11 pm or midnight). And these little privately owned restaurants are MUCH better than midtown/tourist-trap food chain places. There are at least three 24/hr places to eat within 1 block. This building is one of only a few in the neighborhood that has a doorman and an elevator. About 95% of the buildings in the area are walk-ups. Your "home away from home" will provide the NYC experience not soon forgotten: the spectacular panoramic view of NYC on the roof deck (elevator and outdoor furniture up there), 2 private patios in the unit, a huge courtyard in middle of complex, about 50 restaurant/bars/cafe's within a 3 block radius and probably 500 within a 10 block radius. Enjoy a beautiful park (Tompkins Square) at the end of the block and an East River waterfront park about 4 streets/blocks to the east.
For additional fees, I can recommend a car service for pick-up/drop off @ airport (depending on my work schedule/arrival time), take you to attractions in NYC, on Long Island, Catskills, Hamptons, etc.. I can be your personal tour guide to all the tourist attractions, as well as to the cool, not-in-the-guide-books places for nightlife or dinner.
ADDITIONAL INFO / CHARGES:
For stays of more than 7 nights, a small deposit may be required pending on length of requested stay and cleaning charge of $ 50 for stays more than 9 nights, as house keeper will come after 7 nights to clean and do laundry.
The bedroom is for a single person or couple. There is a sofa that pulls out into bed (full size and actually quite comfortable!) and an extra mattress or air mattress for 2 additional people. Additional guests more than 2 are $ 30 per person per night. Maximum is 5 people.
Linens: Clean when you arrive.
Towels: Clean when you arrive.
Breakfast: Included in price, to help start your days. Coffee, Tea, Juice, Pastries or Bagels or Cereal, milk.

Full private apartment or private room in my apartment with bathroom and patio.
Food, drink, people and everything in the coolest area of Manhattan!
For lazy people, there are subways, taxi on the corner or buses. After living in/around NYC for 20+ years, I've learned it takes about 20-45 minutes to get anywhere, from anywhere, in Manhattan whether you walk, take a taxi or use the subway. Buses probably take double of everything else and seem like you're never moving as you'll see pedestrians pass you. Citibikes are great for short trips. I recommend walking to wherever you are going and take a cab back if you're tired..
Bruce was a great host! The apartment was clean, well appointed, and in a great part of the city. Moreover, Bruce could not have made the check in/check out process any easier!
Just back from 5 wonderful days in NYC. We stayed in Bruce's apartment for the first 3 nights. He was an excellent host and extremely helpful. The location in the East Village is perfect and all the sites in lower manhattan are within walking distance. The apartment itself was perfect and it was great to have some space rather than the much smaller mid-town hotel we stayed in last 2 nights. We highly recommend Bruce's apartment & we wouldn't hesitate to go back. Thanks Bruce! J&E
We had a good stay in this apartment. The kitchen was amazing, and the fridge was filled with many things (some of them were remains of previous hosts). Location is excellent, a little far from subway but doesn't matter. The neighborhood is great, with many bars, restaurants and people at night! Also the views from the building roof are spectacular, amazing.
On the negative side, the garden patio is not available, and the kitchen patio is shared with other apartment. The bed is comfortable, but not the bed-sofa. Also we had a mouse in the apartment at first night, what seems normal in New York, but we are not used. If you like mice, then no problem, but if you panic the mice...fortunately Bruce was very kind and put traps on the floor of the apartment. I catch the mouse in a trap the next night (wich was really rather unpleasant thing) and had no more troubles during the stay.
Bruce is an awesome host, and we like his moustache!
I'm sorry you saw a mouse. When you called me the morning after you arrived to inform me, I came up within 10 minutes and asked if you had seen where it went, so I could seal up any possible hole it may have gotten in. You said it went back outside into the garden. You told me that you kept the door leading outside to the garden open all night. I informed you (and everybody) at check to not leave food out or the doors open for too long as it will invite living creatures from the garden.
The condiments in the fridge are there for everybody's use, as I cook often and leave them for all to use. I tell the house cleaner to empty all food left on the shelves unless there are items that are unused or still sealed.
The garden is not advertised as being able to be used, yes, it's a pity we can't use it, but it's the other building's property, not mine.
The kitchen patio is shared with my other apartment that is used by me or other guests i may have.
Great apartment and location! We would recommend absolutely. Thanks Bruce!
we had a great time in nyc. the apartment was great and bruce a very reliable and helpful host. he helped us organize a transport from the airport to his place, filled the fridge and then let us enjoy our vacation. there is a rooftop with a phantastic view of the ny skyline and a garden (which we didn't use because we were always on the road).
east village is a good place to stay with its endless list of restaurants in the neighborhood. greenwich, soho, china town and even west village are in walking distance which make it a great starting point to discover nyc by foot. the closest subway station could be a little closer though.
two thumbs up!
Bruce is the ultimate host! Very helpful and always happy to have a chat. His place was perfect for our first landing in NYC. We now live just around the corner from him in the East Village.
Bruce was a terrific host, he had all the info we could possibly need ready for us before we arrived plus breakfast items in the fridge for the following morning. The area is great for families, with Tompkins Square park on your doorstep and many playgrounds. If you're not familiar with the East Village there's lots to explore. The building has lovely views from the roof terrace and a great courtyard. We would definitely stay again.
Great place to stay in NYC, awesome location, close to good food, grocery stores and a number of bars. Bruce was a great host, providing us with food on arrival as well as great local knowledge of the area which made out stay even better. Definitely recommended to anyone looking for a cool place to stay in NYC!
We loved Bruce's apartment-it was very quiet and clean, and we felt safe staying there with our three kids. The area was really interesting, with lots of quirky bars, cafes and shops.Even though it was a 10 minute walk to the subway,we took different routes and stopped at various cafes on the way! We'll never forget the fun time we had in NY and Bruce was a great host!,
Excellent first experience with airbnb. Bruce was friendley and easy to communicate with. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. The location was great. Easy to get around to other parts of Manhatten. Lots of great resturants within walking distance. The roof top patio was amazing. Thank you, Bruce.
