Eileen was a wonderful host and really helpful in giving me tips in to were to eat and go in cobh. The house and the room were amazing just like the breakfast(really great porridge). I had a wonderful time in cobh and cork and this B&B made it all the better
Eileen is an amazing host, the house is beautiful and the local town of cobh (pronounced Cove DONT CALL IT COB, lol) is full of history and beauty, Eileen is a fountain of knowledge there is nothing she doesn't know about the town from best restaurants and pubs to the local history and places to visit.
I will stay here again
My stay at Oakhurst House was fantastic. Eileen and Brian are superb hosts, and they make every effort to make sure your stay is as pleasant as possible. The room and all the facilities at Oakhurst were top notch. Exactly as pictured. The bed I stayed in was comfortable, the room was spotless, and the shower had great water pressure. The recent addition of a new router, now makes it possible to browse the internet in the guest rooms. Brian also mentioned that Cobh has been wired for fibre optic service, which should mean even faster WiFi speeds in the near future. Overall, I wish I had booked a longer stay at Oakhurst. I will definitely recommend a stay at Oakhurst to all those I know visiting Cobh, as the location is good, the home is great, and the hosts are phenomenal. Thank you for a great stay.
Our stay with Eileen at the Oakhurst B&B was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we felt like family due to her warm welcome and accommodating nature. She gave us recommendations for dinner and helped us figure out our schedule for the next day. She even offered to drive us around if we needed a ride.
Although the B&B is located about 1 km from the town center (that is not very far really), the walk is amazing as it's right along the coastline looking across the harbor to Haulbowline and Spike islands.
We stayed for two nights and really did not want to leave. Eileen and all the people of Cobh are really lovely.
Eileen and her husband are wonderful. Staying with them for more than a week, I started to feel extremely comfortable spending time in their wonderful house. After a long day of work or sightseeing they offered me a beer and we sat in front of the fire chatting or watching TV. Eileen will go far to make sure you are comfortable, if you need anything just ask! Room I stayed was with a view to the bay - it is spacious, and very cozy! Breakfast was altered to be vegan for my needs. Eileen bought me almond milk and tofu, and made sure I have all I need. Me and my wife and our dog had a memorable time.
We had a enjoyable time. Eileen is a superb hostess very caring, and offers lots of information. The bed was comfy and the food was great. Interesting historical home that is well cared for. I would stay here again!
