Absolutely fantastic! We stayed with Eileen and her husband in late June as a stop on our Irish roadtrip. Eileen is a gracious, kind host—she was full of recommendations on what to do in Cobh (and beyond!), and extremely knowledgeable about the history of the town. The B&B is spacious and pristine, and only a short walk to the town centre, making it a perfect spot to use as a home base. And not to forget about the breakfast—we were completely spoiled by the wonderful meal. We throughly enjoyed our stay here, and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to spend time in Cobh!
Eileen has a wonderful costal captains home that they have cherished and maintained beautifully. They have beautiful gardens, and fresh cut flowers in the house. It was an easy walk to the main part of town with some very nice restaurants and pubs, and the Cobh Heritage Center. Our room had big bay windows that overlooked the garden and the river. We slept like babies with the window open a bit and the fresh salt air filling the room. I loved it
Oh - and she's a great cook! We had a wonderful Full Irish Breakfast! Thank you Eileen, you are a fabulous host!
I think Oakhurst House is one of the best house i've ever stayed.
Eileen was very kind and friendly. Room was enough big, comfortable and clean.
Also she was very good cook, I love her jam :)
If i go to Cobh again, then I will stay Eileen house again!
My husband and I had a fabulous time at the Oakhurst House! We were getting in late and Eileen was in constant communication about where we should eat on our way in and how to get in touch with her should we have any problems! We were able to plan our breakfast and what a menu she had to offer! So many choices! Our room was gorgeous and we had the most beautiful view! She helped us plan our stay in Cobh and even helped us book our next location! Overall a superb first experience with AirBnB!
Eileen's place in Cobh is an absolute gem. The home and gardens are gorgeous and she misses no detail in making sure her guests are comfortable. The place is quiet and within walking distance to the center of town and all of its sights. In less than 10 minutes you can walk along the harbor to the Irish Heritage Center, adorable pubs and shops and the majestic St Colman's. We enjoyed a morning run along the path to Titanic gardens and felt safe walking back from the Pub late after a lively night chatting with friendly locals.
Eileen completely spoiled us with her lovely rooms, amazing food and magical gardens. You must try her brown bread! She offered great suggestions and maps, after taking our breakfast order and making a cup of tea to welcome us. Her stories are fabulous. We wish we would have stayed longer and do hope our paths cross again!
Eileen was a wonderful host and really helpful in giving me tips in to were to eat and go in cobh. The house and the room were amazing just like the breakfast(really great porridge). I had a wonderful time in cobh and cork and this B&B made it all the better
