There is plenty to do - or you can do nothing at all!
Take a private forest walk to a tranquil rocky river
Go bush walking or mountain climbing
Bring along friends to stay in the other cottage and fire up the authentic outdoor pizza oven (hire charges apply)
Cook a camp-oven dinner around a campfire
Horse-riding and abseiling within a short drive
Visit local wineries, Barney Creek Vineyard, Bunjurgen Estate Vineyard and Kooroomba Winery are all within a short drive.
The Shed Café is only a few klm from Tuckeroo Cottages and is open on week-ends and most public holidays from 8.30 am to 4.00 pm. Great food eg breakfasts and lunches etc.
Rathdowney has a General Store, Service Station and Post Office.
The Rathdowney Visitors Information Centre is open most days with the exception of Christmas Day and Good Friday. They sell local jams, honey and chutneys also a number of gifts.

I've taken over management of Tuckeroo Cottages from Gail & Mike Steindl. Gail and Mike put in a massive effort over many years to develop a wonderful retreat for couples via two purpose built self contained cottages surrounded by beautiful established lawns & gardens which merge into a truly and seasonally varying majestic view of Mt Maroon, Mt Barney and Mt Lindsay.

Now I have the fortune to carry forward the legacy they established and inject some fresh enthusiasm to build upon what they established.

I come from a three decades long military background which seems far removed from the tranquility here, yet it is a refreshingly different way to give something back to the community to be able to share this lovely space.

During your stay

Mike and I welcome guests to the cottage and Pavilion and surrounding areas. We then leave them in peace, however, we are always available to offer advice or answer any queries the guests may have. We are happy to join guests at the Pavilion in the early evening for drinks if they so desire.
