The Space

Ard Garraidh is a delightful modern attached cottage set in an idyllic location yet only 15 minutes from Inverness. Approached via its own private track and situated on a croft farm, with cows and horses grazing nearby,it is surrounded by its own garden grounds and enjoys uninterrupted views across open farmland with forests and hills beyond. The bright, spacious accommodation is beautifully presented throughout. A well equipped modern kitchen leads through to an attractive dining area which opens out onto the lawned gardens. The large lounge has superb views across the fields to the hills beyond. A large wood burning stove creates a warm, welcoming ambience. With two good sized bedrooms upstairs and family sized bathroom Ard Garraidh offers a high standard of modern living whilst being a real country retreat, yet is easily accessible for exploring the whole of the Highland area. The charming seaside village of Ardersier is just 1 mile or 10 minutes walk away. Situated on the shores of the Moray Firth this attractive traditional village has a lovely sandy beach as well as an excellent selection of small shops, cafes, pub and restaurant. The Moray Firth coast is famous for its bottle nosed Dolphins which are regularly spotted close to shore. There is also a resident colony of seals which can be seen along the shore line. Boat trips are also available in the area to see the sea life close to hand. The charming seaside town of Nairn, with its award winning blue flag sandy beach is just 6 miles away.

  • We spent 5 nights in Garry's house in Inverness. It was a very nice and pleasant house with all you can need in it. We travelled with a small kid and he took care of all the details, we just needed to (website hidden)/washing/Internet/books/area information all was available and we couldn't miss anything. We had a lovely holidays in a comfortable house with beautyfull views. Highly recommended!

  • This was a very nice property in a very rural setting. It was extremely well equipped. i have never stayed in a self catering property with a bread maker in it before. There was everything you might need to cook gourmet meals with local produce. Garry was extremely helpful in making sure we found the property and that we had everything we needed. He was reponsive to suggestions such as providing lighting in the sitting room to help with reading the many guide and wildlife books in the house. It is a newly built house and therefore modern and pleasant. The location is very good - surrounded by inquisitive cows - not in Garry's garden I hasten to add. It is very quiet indeed. Highly recommended.

  • I stayed at Garry's for 4 nights with 2 friends. The place was perfect for us. It's simply gorgeous and amidst lovely farm land. The pictures don't do the place justice. It was plenty big for the 3 of us and he had all the amenities needed for cooking and relaxing etc. Another perk are the books that he has to learn about the area and where to travel. Garry was great to work with and we were able to meet him and even spend a bit of time with him. Overall a great experience. If you're looking for a getaway and gorgeous country, this is a great spot!

  • Garry is a wonderful host and spending 5 days in his highland house was an amazing experience. It's a comfortable and modern house and definitely large enough for the 5 of us. The kitchen is well equipped and large which allowed us to cook some great meals while enjoying the view from the windows. I would not recommend staying here if you don't rent a car, but if you do both Nairn and Inverness are quite close, and it's possible to do day trips to Ullapool, Isle of Skye, Speyside and Aberdeen like we did. Highly recommended!

  • Garry was an excellent host, going to great lengths to help with my stay. His little country house near Ardersier was very well set up and comfortable. I got a hire car (from Arnold Clark) to get around and see the north of Scotland, using Garry's house as a base. Thanks a lot Gary, I loved my time at your house.

  • We planned a road trip around Scotland staying at five different locations. Garry's house was one of those locations and it suited our needs perfectly. We chose his lovely house because it is central to all the nearby areas we planned to visit and served as our base to explore the area around Loch Ness, Aviemore, and the Speyside distilleries. The house is well-equipped in all respects and in a gorgeous location. Just looking out the lounge/living room window and gazing at the remarkable scenery provided us great pleasure. It was essential to us to have fast and reliable wi-fi, and that's exactly what we got. Garry responds remarkably quickly to all email and it was a pleasure dealing with him.

  • Very nice place to stay, as other reviewers have said. It's spacious, very nicely decorated and the kitchen is stocked with almost anything you might possibly need. There are lots of helpful brochures and maps around. Garry obviously goes through a lot of trouble to make the place convenient and comfortable.

  • Lovely cottage, with chimney in the living room, You feel at home instantly! Everything is available to make you feel confortable, and the area is rich with it´s history and dolphins!!!!. Near to the best places in the world " Glen-Coe and Isle of Skye". Garry is really good person and help us at all.
Just a place to go, and people to know!!!
Espero repetir. Y Espero le gusten las fotos. :-)
    Un saludo desde España.
