Tucked away in the mountains of WNC on our mini farm, our tiny home on wheels allows our guests to experience "tiny house living" while enjoying the comforts of home at their finger tips (sometimes, literally!).
The home is a 35 minute picturesque drive to downtown Asheville (& more!)
So come escape, explore, and enjoy - we look forward to having you!

The Tiny House:

Our tiny house was designed and built (by us) with comfort in mind, we wanted the home to feel more spacious and minimalist while still having most of the amenities of a standard sized house. We think we achieved both and our guests tend to agree! The number one comment we get when friends, family and guests enter the tiny house is how spacious it feels.

The sleeping loft features a low profile king (yes, King!) mattress, more than enough room for a couple. The ladder to the loft is steep but it is very sturdy and has handrails on each side. We have used it daily with no issue, but please do be careful if you're not used to climbing up and down ladders.

Downstairs is a daybed with a memory foam twin mattress that runs the length of the short end of the house - no tiny bench seat here! The daybed is great for lounging in the afternoon, reading a book, or streaming a movie.

There is a small collection of books and board games for you to enjoy on those lazy days, there is also access to WIFI and a 36 inch Smart TV. You're welcome to sign into your own streaming app accounts on the TV. Please note, no traditional cable service or dvd player is provided.

The daybed is also used as an additional sleeping area for guests.

The kitchen is very well equipped with a large sink, 5 burner gas range, standard refrigerator/freezer and large convection toaster oven.

If you're not the type to cook on vacation, you'll find many of our favorite eat/drink spots in the area on the Airbnb guide and you're always welcome to ask us for suggestions based on your tastes or cravings, we're happy to help!

Guests may also use the charcoal grill outside when the weather permits. We happily provide a lighter and grill brush.

We also provide ground coffee (including decaf), various quality teas, sugar, salt, pepper, cooking oil, as well as an array of kitchen utensils and cookware. Depending on season and availability, farm fresh eggs are available for purchase.
Help yourself to any food or drink you find in the kitchen, condiments and spices have been left by others guests and are available for use.

The bathroom is fitted with a combo bathtub and shower. The composting toilet is easy to use - there's no mess, no smell, nothing to fear. Simply read the simple instruction card located in the bathroom and you'll be fine.
*Please note that if you stay for two nights or more, we will need to empty the composting toilet during your stay. We try to do this while guests are out. It takes less than 5 minutes and you won’t even know we’ve been there.
** Some toiletries are provided and can be found in the bathroom - we ask that you use the soap/shampoo products provided as they are all biodegradable, a must for the grey water system of the tiny house.

Heat in the colder months is provided by a propane gas fireplace, as well as a backup electrical space heater. There is a tankless hot water heater that heats on demand.

There’s is no air conditioning in the tiny house. Open windows and fans are used to keep the home comfortable in the tiny house during the summer months.

Water comes from our mountain spring through a garden hose.

Wireless internet is provided by a signal booster from our home.

The property:

Our home and the tiny home are located on our 2 acre mini farm.

The tiny home is located approximately 75 feet from our home and is situated near our farm animals.

We currently have chickens (including a rooster), ducks, rabbits, and Nigerian Dwarf goats. (We also have two dogs and three cats). We ask that you consider this before booking, if you’re not comfortable with being near animals or think they may disturb your stay, this may not be the place for you.

You're welcome to say hi to the animals, but please be cautious as we use electric fencing to keep some of our animals safe. Never touch electrical fencing of any kind and never feed animals without permission.

Please also use caution as we are always working on a project that improves our property and there are sometimes materials and tools around.

The tiny house is located behind our home (we live in the white farm house you'll pass on your way to the tiny house). We try to maintain privacy for our guests but this is always a work in progress. We do have to tend to our animals twice each day so you may see us doing that, but we try our best to stay quiet and not disturb our guests.

There is a dead-end private gravel road that runs along our property. We have three neighbors that use the road to get to and from their homes. Traffic and noise is minimal.

Our farm animals get excited when it's feeding time (late morning and early evening) and can get chatty but it’s brief and our guests don’t seem to mind it.
That said, If you require absolute quiet and privacy during your stay, our home may not be the fit for you.

Parking is located behind the tiny home, it is a short walk from your car to the front door of the tiny house. There are three stairs up to the door of the tiny home.
Our road is easily accessible without 4 wheel drive. The paved road from the highway to our gravel road are maintained and salted when there is ice/snow and is passable all year long.

The Area:

The tiny home is located less than 10 minutes to Burnsville and 35 minutes to downtown Asheville.

Burnsville has plenty of amenities including restaurants, a brewery, coffee shops, gift shops, farmer’s market, grocery stores, and gas stations. The downtown square is very quaint and worth a visit.
Most guests do travel to Asheville during their stay as it has much more to offer in the way of restaurants and things to do.

We are a family of three that settled here in the Blue Ridge Mountains after falling head over heals for the area. We own two acres in the small town of Burnsville that we are slowly restoring to its origin as a thriving homestead dating back generations. We want to grow and raise our own food in the most sustainable and humane way we can. We love our home here in WNC, and enjoy sharing it with others!
