Good location even though it's a bit of walk to the train station. Easy check in and good communications with Federic and the care taker. The house was clean and spacious with a great view of the Matterhorn even though its decor and furniture appeared a bit dated. The laundry was down in the basement and you would need to ask the caretaker to do it for you. It was a nice stay and the Japanese restaurant right next door was awesome! We tried one of their set menus, the food and the ambience were great with the live teppanyaki show.

The stay at Frederic’s was great ! We didn’t meet him but his mother, who was really nice. Flat really easy to find and to get in on yourself. The flat is exactly like on the pictures. It is a really silent spot, not far from the train station and other facilities. In the kitchen, there is lots of things (mircowaves, boiler, coffee machine, fondue stuff…) but some more basic stuff (salt, pepper …) would be great. Internet works only in the living room, it was a bit annoying but really livable! We enjoyed being on the balcony. As nobody where coming just after us, we could stay up to the end of the day, that was a great present ! Thanks a lot ! We enjoyed it a lot and recommend it!

Frederic's place is as expected per the description and reviews from others who have stayed there. The host was helpful with questions and the apartment was in a great location. There's quite a wonderful view of the Matterhorn as you bus or taxi it to the apartment. If it's available you should definitely book this airbnb.

Such a well-located apartment but it truly needs updating-- eg linens (towels!), curtains, shutters (which do not sufficiently block light in bedrooms), beds (too hard), bed pillows (too big). We also found it expensive for just 2 of us. Otherwise, we appreciated cleanliness, a well-equipped kitchen, ease of entry & good communication.

Clean, comfortable holiday apartment that is well situated, close to shops and restaurants and halfway between the two lift stations. Very convenient place to stay.

TL;DR: I would absolutely stay here again, and I would recommend this unit to others. Great location. Responsive host. Lacking on household items. Poor wifi. My group (of six) had a great time staying at Frederic's place! He was responsive and easy to communicate with, and his mom was onsite (in the building) for urgent requests (more on that later). This was probably the best location for my group, as the flat is just a short walk (less than 10 minutes) to the gondola. We were able to rent/store our ski/snowboard equipment—which was right next to the lifts—pretty easily so we didn't have to lug our gear around. Frederic's directions from the train station were pretty good (although we just used (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps) and it was easy to get into the unit. While the listing advertised household essentials, we found that they probably didn't restock for our stay: - There weren't enough towels for all the guests. - There was only one roll of toilet paper. We had to buy more. - The kitchen lacked paper towels, hand soap, and dish soap (although there was just enough dishwashing machine powder soap—we ran out on the last day). - Essential cooking ingredients (salt, pepper, and cooking oil) were either not included. Wifi internet was also slow, and ultimately died for most of the unit by the second night of our stay. There was one tiny corner that it did work (they used wifi signal extenders—no router in unit). When I emailed Frederic about it, his mom came over to try to help. She was super nice! She made a valiant attempt, but no luck. We only needed internet to get discounted train tickets and upload pictures of the Matterhorn to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) (#firstworldproblems). One minor thing that stood out: For the most part, the entire apartment was clean and tidy. However, we had to move the living room rug and found that there was a lot of dust and debris beneath it.
