TL;DR: I would absolutely stay here again, and I would recommend this unit to others. Great location. Responsive host. Lacking on household items. Poor wifi.
My group (of six) had a great time staying at Frederic's place! He was responsive and easy to communicate with, and his mom was onsite (in the building) for urgent requests (more on that later).
This was probably the best location for my group, as the flat is just a short walk (less than 10 minutes) to the gondola. We were able to rent/store our ski/snowboard equipment—which was right next to the lifts—pretty easily so we didn't have to lug our gear around.
Frederic's directions from the train station were pretty good (although we just used (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Maps) and it was easy to get into the unit.
While the listing advertised household essentials, we found that they probably didn't restock for our stay:
- There weren't enough towels for all the guests.
- There was only one roll of toilet paper. We had to buy more.
- The kitchen lacked paper towels, hand soap, and dish soap (although there was just enough dishwashing machine powder soap—we ran out on the last day).
- Essential cooking ingredients (salt, pepper, and cooking oil) were either not included.
Wifi internet was also slow, and ultimately died for most of the unit by the second night of our stay. There was one tiny corner that it did work (they used wifi signal extenders—no router in unit). When I emailed Frederic about it, his mom came over to try to help. She was super nice! She made a valiant attempt, but no luck. We only needed internet to get discounted train tickets and upload pictures of the Matterhorn to (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) (#firstworldproblems).
One minor thing that stood out: For the most part, the entire apartment was clean and tidy. However, we had to move the living room rug and found that there was a lot of dust and debris beneath it.
