Interaction with Guests
I live upstairs and will meet you upon arrival then be available as much as you need or not. I've been exploring the neighborhood and take long walks with my dog so there's not much I haven't seen!
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby.
As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
Everything is a walk away or jump on the many bus lines that are at the corner. In minutes you can be at the Ferry Building, Marina, Presidio, Castro, UCSF Medical building, Market Street and Union Square. The N-Judah line also stops in nearby Cole Valley. I walk most places - post office, grocery store, pharmacy, bank, hardware, and clothing stores. The Magnolia Brew Pub is a block away with all their own draft beers. The number of walking distance hang-outs is amazing - Zam Zam is a fun martini bar, Sparrow is my new favorite farm to table restaurant and Club Deluxe offers pizza and live music every night! Plus Golden Gate Park is a walk away which means you can walk to all the museums and gardens there. I have books, maps and all the info you'll need to navigate your trip here.
Other Things to Note
I live upstairs and will be available for any questions - my friendly Australian Shepherd, Boo, may come say Hi
I'm OK with pets and the unit opens up to the backyard which makes it easy but my dog is out there so your pet must get along!
My husband and I had a delightful experience staying at Sara's airbnb in the Haight. The accommodation was very comfortable, especially the beds (even the pull-out); and Sara had provided coffee, tea, orange juice and a couple of beers, so we felt very welcome.
The room is very quiet and convenient for the bus into town, and Sara allowed us to use her quality washing machine, so we couldn't have asked for anything more - thanks Sara!
Our family (3) stayed with Sara for 6 nights and it was a completely delightful experience right from the start. Sara answered all of my questions before booking, contacted me before we arrived to make certain we would get the key when we arrived late.
She was there at the door with a warm greeting and then showed us into our spectacular little "home-away-from-home" apartment.
This location was absolutely perfect for us, as our grandsons lived just around the corner. Every night, when we returned to Sara's place, we felt that we were home.
Comfortable, clean, stocked with every thing we needed to make our breakfast easy. Lots of towels and a beautiful garden right outside our door.
Great location with lots of great cafes and restaurants. Easy public transport options for downtown and other landmarks. Perfect for exercises with the Golden Gate park less than a mile away.
Super friendly host, willing to help with anything. Loved our stay.
First of all, the neighborhood was very nice. Victorian style houses were wonderful. We found everything as described previously, so there were no surprises. Sara made us feel cared from the first moment and was very helpful on our last day, which we appreciated a lot. She was always checking our requests immediately and tried to solve them as soon as possible. Even her dog is very welcoming! The garden is beautiful and it is shiny in the apartment. We even had games in our cupboard! :)
Sara was very helpful both in helping me get settled and in dealing with a problem that my daughter had, in spite of it being fairly late when this arose.
To me the photos made it look bigger than it is so it was adequate but not exactly roomy. I didn't really focus on the fact that there was a toaster oven not a microwave so the ability to cook anything was more limited than I was expecting.
Sara was really helpful and the place is super nice and cozy. My parents had a great time staying there, I wish I had a chance to meet Sara!
The apartment is exceptional with easy access, wonderful linens/towels and well stocked for coffee/tea. There is a tiny fridge w/ milk, juice and even a couple beers. Very clean and quiet. The pics and description on the add were exactly like what was posted. Sara made everything easy from getting the keys to allowing us to store our luggage a few hours after check out. Excellent location.
About the Host, Sara
I'm a recent transplant to San Francisco from nearby Tiburon. I love walking my dog in the parks nearby and cycling the Bay area. I work with a contemporary ballet company and try to take advantage of the wealth of music, art galleries, and restaurants here. My home is a classic Edwardian built in 1904 yet my taste is modern and comfortable - can't wait to share it with you.
