One bedroom sanctuary with a beautiful garden view and cozy fireplace. Comes with it's own entrance just steps from bus lines, train and all that Haight Street has to offer. Complete privacy with a separate bedroom, bathroom, and breakfast bar.
If you want to be within walking distance to Golden Gate Park, Haight St, Buena Vista Park, and Cole Valley, this is the spot. Full size bed in the bedroom with 400 thread count sheets and a pull-out twin in the living room. Just installed fireplace and large screen tv makes hanging out fun in the comfortable living room. Bathroom has a shower within the tub and white fluffy towels. I am a new airbnb host so don't be concerned by the lack of reviews - it's just because it's new on the market! On the plus side, everything is brand new!!
Your own entrance means you can come and go as you wish and enter the apartment through new french doors from the garden. There is a mini fridge, Nespresso coffee maker, toaster oven and goodies awaiting you in the breakfast bar area. Free wifi, cable, and maps of the area as well. The Bose sound system means you can play your own music and charge your phone! Laundry is also available upon request.
Interaction with Guests
I live upstairs and will meet you upon arrival then be available as much as you need or not. I've been exploring the neighborhood and take long walks with my dog so there's not much I haven't seen!
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby.
As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
Everything is a walk away or jump on the many bus lines that are at the corner. In minutes you can be at the Ferry Building, Marina, Presidio, Castro, UCSF Medical building, Market Street and Union Square. The N-Judah line also stops in nearby Cole Valley. I walk most places - post office, grocery store, pharmacy, bank, hardware, and clothing stores. The Magnolia Brew Pub is a block away with all their own draft beers. The number of walking distance hang-outs is amazing - Zam Zam is a fun martini bar, Sparrow is my new favorite farm to table restaurant and Club Deluxe offers pizza and live music every night! Plus Golden Gate Park is a walk away which means you can walk to all the museums and gardens there. I have books, maps and all the info you'll need to navigate your trip here.
Other Things to Note
I live upstairs and will be available for any questions - my friendly Australian Shepherd, Boo, may come say Hi
I'm OK with pets and the unit opens up to the backyard which makes it easy but my dog is out there so your pet must get along!
Great accommodation in a great location. Only 2 blocks from the main street in Haight Ashbury. Easy access to the city centre.
Sara was very hospitable and teally made sure we were comfortable.
This property is very attractive and very nicely situated near Haight, as portrayed in the photos and described. Sara was very attentive in communication with me, and nicely had a bottle of wine along with chocolates as a warm welcome. There were two formidable issues that arose during the stay that ought to be noted:
1) My adult daughter stayed with me the first night (Friday), and I confirmed with Sara that the pull out would be suitable for her. That night was awful, as the insulation between ceiling and apartment is very flimsy and Sara's daughter was entertaining until after 2 am. It was impossible to sleep and I had to call Sara after that, upon which sound gradually diminished. Rugs need to separate the floors, and/or stricter rules on that kind of commotion really needs to be enforced, given the premium the apartment commands.
2) Pullout is very uncomfortable (springs and flimsy mattress), and even my daughter could not really abide by it. Her sleep was severely disrupted by both this and the commotion, and it placed a distinct damper on the visit. I had communicated prior to visiting as to whether the pullout was suitable for a person, and was reassured that it was.
I am sorry to report these circumstances, as I think Sara is a gracious host. Second night, on my own sans daughter, was fine.
I'm very sorry - I was awakened by the noise as well. The disturbance was a one time issue and not an on-going problem. As for the pullout twin, I wonder if the extra mattress pad was used - since we didn't make up the bed, I'm not sure - no one else has ever complained before. When the tempurpedic pad is used, past guests have said the pullout is very comfortable. Norman and his daughter declined to have to bed made up in advance. I think Norm's second night was more the "norm"!
Best Airbnb experience yet! Sara is such a lovely, classy lady and so accommodating and welcoming. Being a 'doggie person' I absolutely adored her gorgeous dog Boo popping in for a visit now and then. The apartment is just a perfect location to experience all San Francisco has to offer. It's located right in the middle of all the action of Haight-Ashbury and you can access transport to all of SF's iconic travel hotspots easily just down the road. The local trendy little food market was just brilliant - it has the best array of groceries together with wines, beers and fantastic deli counter which also offers pre-prepared foods if you are keen to grab something tasty without having to visit a restaurant. The apartment was so comfortable and so beautifully decorated. Cannot rate Sara and her apartment (and of course Boo) highly enough. A 'must' stay for anybody visiting San Francisco!!
My wife, daughter (5 months) and I spent one week in Sara's lovely flat. We definitely enjoyed her hospitality and the accommodation itself. The location is perfect, close to downtown SF but still peaceful and quiet. We'll be back!
My host made me feel very welcome. She was ready and waiting for my arrival. The apartment was fresh, clean and easy to move right in. The neighborhood met all of my expectations and beyond. It is lovely and fun to stay in the Haight. I was in San Francisco for work and to visit family. Sara's place was perfect for me.
great spot, centrally located and very quiet, great linens and towels, comfortable and clean. just what you want! don't forget your shampoo and conditions we though. (we forgot ours, luckily there were a few left over sample ones under her sink)
This place is amazing, and Sara is too. Lots of (very clean!) space, really nice backyard and close to all the things we wanted to see and do in town. The place is full of inspiring books about SF and Sara gives great advice despite being fairly new to the city. We will be coming back to stay here the next time we are in San Francisco!
I'm a recent transplant to San Francisco from nearby Tiburon. I love walking my dog in the parks nearby and cycling the Bay area. I work with a contemporary ballet company and try to take advantage of the wealth of music, art galleries, and restaurants here. My home is a classic Edwardian built in 1904 yet my taste is modern and comfortable - can't wait to share it with you.
