Interaction with Guests
I live upstairs and will meet you upon arrival then be available as much as you need or not. I've been exploring the neighborhood and take long walks with my dog so there's not much I haven't seen!
You will hear from many that this is the best neighborhood in SF. I chose this area for the many Victorian homes, the ease of mass transit, the walkability, and the abundance of parks, restaurants, and nightlife nearby.
As a recent transplant to this area I can tell you that the stores, coffee shops, restaurants, and pubs are great here. I forget I have a car most of the time! Street parking is easy except for Wednesday 8-10 due to street cleaning.
Everything is a walk away or jump on the many bus lines that are at the corner. In minutes you can be at the Ferry Building, Marina, Presidio, Castro, UCSF Medical building, Market Street and Union Square. The N-Judah line also stops in nearby Cole Valley. I walk most places - post office, grocery store, pharmacy, bank, hardware, and clothing stores. The Magnolia Brew Pub is a block away with all their own draft beers. The number of walking distance hang-outs is amazing - Zam Zam is a fun martini bar, Sparrow is my new favorite farm to table restaurant and Club Deluxe offers pizza and live music every night! Plus Golden Gate Park is a walk away which means you can walk to all the museums and gardens there. I have books, maps and all the info you'll need to navigate your trip here.
Other Things to Note
I live upstairs and will be available for any questions - my friendly Australian Shepherd, Boo, may come say Hi
I'm OK with pets and the unit opens up to the backyard which makes it easy but my dog is out there so your pet must get along!
Sara was awesome with communications and was the perfect host.
It was actually sister and family that stayed with her an she couldn't have been more accommodating.
They had a wonderful time in San Francisco and this was in no small part thanks to Sara.
Oh and my niece loved her dog!
Very great, quiet and cosy place! Nice location in Haight-Ashbury.
We enjoyed our stay there.
Sara was really nice to us, providing good food tips.
Sara is really nice. We feel truely welcomed when we checked in. Her house is fantastic and sweet. Sara prepared juice and milk for us. the yard in front the house is amazing. The only thing bot so perfect here is parking space is not easy to find and the spaces are crowded and tiny.
We LOVED Sara's place! Our stay in San Francisco rounded out a 10-day, 10-year anniversary trip to California, and it was a quiet, comfortable and cozy end to a whirlwind trip. The apartment is just as pictured - very well appointed. We very much enjoyed the gas fireplace while reading or watching TV at night. Sara's tips on where to go/eat in the area were great, as we were San Fran newbies and didn't have a clue. We loved the neighborhood restaurant/bar recommendations. It was very easy to get around by bus, which we took down to Market/Powell so we could take the iconic (okay touristy) trolley car ride. :) We walked to the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park - it was a hike, but a totally lovely one. Cabs are relatively easy to come by as well - we took cabs home from a few places just for time/convenience.
Sara was a great host - although we never met! She checked in on us and even left some packing tape by our door when I asked the nearest location to buy some (had 2 cases of wine to ship home!).
Finding parking on the street wasn't difficult - we ended up just a block away. We didn't use our car at all during our stay.
We would 100% stay at Sara's place again! It truly is a garden retreat!
We had a fabulous time staying with Sara and her dog Boo in San Francisco. Sara was always extreme prompt when I made contact ensuring that communication was very easy. She greeted us on the first day and provided us with local knowledge. The house was exactly what I wanted from ours an Francisco experience and I don't think it would've been the same had we stayed downtown. Haight street is very eclectic and has So much personality. We were a little wary at first but had no trouble and the festival that happened to be on the Su say we were there was a great experience. Not to mention the golden state warriors being in the NBA finals!!! With my husband and I being nearly 6 foot tall a double bed was slightly squishy but for a few nights it didn't matter. I am so glad we stayed with Sara and Boo...We had a fantastic experience because of it!!!
Sara made my family and I feel very welcome in her home and in the neighborhood. She had great restaurant recommendations as well fun day activities. Her home was comfortable and overall very pleasant. The neighborhood was quiet, and perfectly located near many restaurants, shops and bars, as well as the Golden Gate Park. I would definitely come back and recommendation her apartment to anyone looking for a cozy place in a lovely section of the city.
Sara's gorgeous place was perfect for our first time, 4 night stay in SF. Nice and central. Only a short stroll to Haight-Ashbury shops, cafes and grocery stores. Welcome booklet with a heap of local info. WIFI and access to laundry. The cosy fireplace was amazing. Comfy bed! Super clean and quiet.
Sara was so lovely and made us feel so welcome. We always received prompt replies to messages. She went out of her way to greet us after a late flight change. We really appreciated her local tips.
About the Host, Sara
I'm a recent transplant to San Francisco from nearby Tiburon. I love walking my dog in the parks nearby and cycling the Bay area. I work with a contemporary ballet company and try to take advantage of the wealth of music, art galleries, and restaurants here. My home is a classic Edwardian built in 1904 yet my taste is modern and comfortable - can't wait to share it with you.
