The space

This is a comfortable, 2-bedroom apartment right in the historic center of the city. It has a direct access to charming Plazuela de Mexiamora, a traditional, pedestrian-only, plaza with benches and a fountain around which one can spend relaxing moments after visiting the other attractions Guanajuato has to offer. It also has another access to street Cantarranas through a private 100-foot alley.

In the immediate vicinity (within 600 feet) you will find renowned places such as the three Teatros (Juarez, Principal, and Cervantes), the University of Guanajuato, and the city's main plaza, Jardin de la Union, where you can enjoy the music from mariachis and even a coffee and desert from Starbucks if you so desire!

You will have access to high speed WiFi Internet, a washing machine, and satellite channels on a plasma TV. The kitchen is fully furnished with dishes and utensils, coffee maker (we provide a coffee pouch for the first morning), microwave, toaster, and blender. Linens and towels are provided.

We truly believe this apartment offers one of the best locations in the city, being so close to all the main attractions, yet very quiet and easily accessible. There is a terrace on the roof which offers great panoramic views of the city.

For a small additional fee we can pick you up at the City bus station or at León International Airpor.t

House Rules
No smoking
Not suitable for pets
No parties or events
Check in is anytime after 3PM
Check out by 12PM (noon)

First rule: Enjoy your stay!
The only main other rule is to leave the apartment the way you found it.
Treat it as if it were yours, or as if you're the next guest. That also has the advantage of making you feel at home.
In case there's a same day departure and arrival of guests, check-out time will have to be before noon, and subsequent check-in after 3pm. Time to prepare the flat for our next guests. If your day of arrival and/or departure is free, you're welcome to check-in or check-out at your convenience.
And of course it's a non smoking space. You can smoke all you want on the plazuela in front, but not inside the house please. Thanks.

Great location and beautiful home. Very convenient with its two entrances. Tere's warmth made us feel very comfortable. Bar next door was a little noisy though. Overall I was happy with my choice!

This AirBnB's location is fantastic - it doesn't get any better than this lovely plaza. Tere was friendly and promptly replied to our one email prior to the trip. She also sent us a final confirmation e-mail the day before we arrived to let us know the apartment was ready. She agreed to meet us upon our arrival to show us the place and other key details. All great so far!  Even though she had agreed to meet us (check-in time was 3 and we arrived around 5 PM) she was not there. She ended up going on a family excursion to another nearby city. She never called me to advice me of her absence. I called her upon arrival and gave some instructions over the phone as to where I could find the keys, etc. Nonetheless, all seemed well. But then later on our first day, we had the bad luck to be the ones using her front gate’s lock on the day it stops working due to what I gather is normal wear and tear. I repeat, we did not break it. We did nothing but stick the key in, and as old locks sometimes do, it malfunctioned. What followed was a sour experience that culminated in her expecting me to pay at least half of the repair costs, while alleging gross misuse on our part. She insisted I pay for the "damage"; only after she realized the next day that the entire lock would have to be replaced. She had the audacity to do this even after she very well knew that her lock malfunctioned due to heavy use and old age (as clearly stated by her locksmith. I heard him say this because Tere also insisted that I be present while her locksmith fixed the door, which needless to say cut into precious time I had to spend with my family.) Important to mentioned that she threatened me by saying " If you don't pay then I will have to submit a claim with Airbnb... I am sure it will be more expensive for you that way instead of paying me cash" I courteously explained to Tere that if she really needed the money, I would help her even though I felt it unfair on her part because 1) we did not misuse or damage anything and 2) the lock was not to our AirBnB apartment - it was to the front gate which leads to Tere’s home and the other two units she rents out for AirBnB. I didn't what to be petty over $500 pesos (around $30 US Dollars) and frankly just wanted to move on from this situation... but the only thing I would ask of her in return would be a written receipt stating that I had given her the agreed upon sum with her name and the date, as well as a mentioned that she will not submit a claim to Airbnb and that it was a contribution eventouhg I still disagree...

Tere's place has a great location! Very central! The apartment can also host 4 people and has a kitchen and dining room. We had trouble getting in touch with Tere upon arrival, so make sure you make firm plans ahead of time. We also stayed on a Friday night and were up late because of the noise from a patio bar right below our window. Overall, a very nice family. When we did get in touch with Tere, she very graciously offered to drive us to the airport the next morning.

Very comfortable apartment, walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. It was a bit noisy at night due to music playing at the bars next door, but overall a great place to stay.

This place was in a great location. There is a bar next door that plays music at night but if that doesn't bother you this is a great apparent and Tere is so nice and helpful.

Tere is wonderful and friendly host who communicates well. The apartment is spacious and cute, with a very well-equipped and functional kitchen. The location is ideal; on a little plaza that is close to everything in the historic center. There is a tiny market on the same plaza, as well as a lavanderia where you can get laundry done, and two small restaurants. Larger markets and hundreds of restaurants are within easy walking distance. The Jardin de la Union is only a short block away, and the Mercado is about 15 minutes walk. Bus service is good and one can go virtually anywhere by bus, or taxi if you like, for very little money. Tere provides all the necessities such as soap, shampoo, towels, etc. She was helpful with tips on things to see and do, and lives right upstairs so it is easy to find her. Be advised, there are a lot of steps from the street to the house, so it is not accessible for those who don't have full mobility. Also, the bar behind is ver popular and plays music every night; loud but not horrible, they do stop at midnight. We loved Guanajuato, Tere and the apartment, and will stay here again.
