About this listing
This is a comfortable, 2-bedroom apartment right in the historic center of the city. It has a direct access to charming Plazuela de Mexiamora, a traditional, pedestrian-only, plaza with benches and a fountain around which one can spend relaxing moments after visiting the other attractions Guanajuato has to offer. It also has another access to street Cantarranas through a private 100-foot alley.
In the immediate vicinity (within 600 feet) you will find renowned places such as the three Teatros (Juarez, Principal, and Cervantes), the University of Guanajuato, and the city's main plaza, Jardin de la Union, where you can enjoy the music from mariachis and even a coffee and desert from Starbucks if you so desire!
You will have access to high speed WiFi Internet, a washing machine, and satellite channels on a plasma TV. The kitchen is fully furnished with dishes and utensils, coffee maker (we provide a coffee pouch for the first morning), microwave, toaster, and blender. Linens and towels are provided.
We truly believe this apartment offers one of the best locations in the city, being so close to all the main attractions, yet very quiet and easily accessible. There is a terrace on the roof which offers great panoramic views of the city.
For a small additional fee we can pick you up at the City bus station or at León International Airpor.t
First rule: Enjoy your stay!
The only main other rule is to leave the apartment the way you found it.
Treat it as if it were yours, or as if you're the next guest. That also has the advantage of making you feel at home.
In case there's a same day departure and arrival of guests, check-out time will have to be before noon, and subsequent check-in after 3pm. Time to prepare the flat for our next guests. If your day of arrival and/or departure is free, you're welcome to check-in or check-out at your convenience.
And of course it's a non smoking space. You can smoke all you want on the plazuela in front, but not inside the house please. Thanks.
Everything about this apartment is charming and welcoming. The view from the living room is stunning! The beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and there was hot water. Our host, Tere, was flexible with our schedule and provided drinking water, parking suggestions, and even helped carry my huge bag. The location is fantastic and you can walk to everything in Guanajuato. It is very safe and I would have even felt safe staying alone here. I recommend this location to anyone visiting Guanajuato and will definitely stay here again. Thanks Tere!
Tere's apartment is conveniently located within walking distance from almost every attraction there is to see in Guanajuato. We stayed in the lower floor which had its own private access to the street. Though we didn't spend much time in the apartment, it felt comfortable and cozy. We would definitely come back and stay with her again
Tere was an excellent host and the apartment was in an excellent location in Guanajuato. It was also very easy to find being so close to the Teatro Principal. We did have a mishap involving an open window and an unexpected strong rain storm that resulted in a dead modem/router so we apologize to the next guests who may not have had working wifi.
The host canceled this reservation the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Tere's home was lovely and Guanajuato is a charming place! The apartment was clean, spacious and well located; highly recommended.
The apartment is in a great location - just a couple of blocks from the square and many attractions. The apartment was adequate - the price and the location were the most attractive aspects of the place. There was a steep set of stairs down to the apartment - fortunately, the woman who gave us the keys carried our bags down for us when we arrived and back up the day we left. There are also several locked doors/gates to go through to get to the apartment. While this added to sense of safety, there was one gate on which the lock was somewhat temperamental. Anyone staying there should make sure the host shows them the "trick" to this lock.
I will first start off by saying that this place is in an amazing location. We were minutes from the main square and everything was super accessible. 5/5 stars for location. However, the place itself is actually a bit misleading from the pictures and descriptions. First of all, it is not a private house. There are three sections in the house that seems to be where the rest of the family lives. Fortunately, Tere was out of town when we where there so that was not an issue. Secondly, a HUGE reason why we booked this place was because of the rooftop in the pictures. When we arrived, we asked her friend who met us to give us the keys if we could access it - she said she would have to come and let us in because it was a private residence. At this point, we were VERY disappointed because the pictures looked amazing, but we could not access the rooftop. Thirdly, the actual bedroom photos were not what we got.
Overall, I would recommend for the location, just be cautious about the misleading pictures and full amenities. Tere was great however in terms of communication and welcoming nature even though we did not meet her.
