Leigh was friendly and accommodating when making arrangements. We didn't meet her, but she was helpful in communications amd replied promptly. The yurt is ideally situated amongst bushland and bird life. A lovely part of the country. Recommend it.
Pleasently surprised, even better than expected! My partner and I had booked to stay at the Rainforest Yurt only a week prior to our check in date, after our previous booking had canceled on us. It was reassuring to receive a response and confirmation from Leigh only moments after hitting "book". The drive itself was just over an hour from where we live at the lower Blue Mountains. The Yurt itself is located in a quiet culdesac at the very edge of the Esplenade. Only moments away from the main road, cafes and shops however very quiet and secluded. We meet with Leigh when we arrived who was also kind enough of talk and through some suggestions on what to do and see in the area. The Yurt is located a few steps up the hill behind Leigh's home. However being so high up from road level and surrounded my trees my partner and I were able to still sleep with our windows and blinds open at night to enjoy the fresh air and night sky, without having our privacy invaded. We stayed in the middle of winter and were concerned about the cold (particularly at night), however Leigh had kindly lined the bed with flannelette sheets therefore the cold was not an issue at all. My partner and made use of the mini kitchen cooking bacon and eggs for breakfast and enjoyed sitting outside enjoying the atmosphere.
We had a wonderful stay at Leigh's Yurt. It's a beautiful space to relax - well stocked, clean, comfy and surrounded by the sounds, smells and beauty of the forest. Oh, and Leigh and Andrew are perfect hosts. Would recommend the Yurt as a gem for a few days away. Thank you.
The yurt was wonderful! Impeccably tidy and well equipped. Bed was extremely comfy. Nicely situated within the trees
The accommodation was even better than advertised, what a beautiful peaceful location. Very well maintained, inside and out and the hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to come back.
About the Host, Leigh
I am a Nurse and mother. My husband and I decided to host with Airbnb so we could meet people from around the world and share our special room in the rainforest. I enjoy gardening and bird watching, entertaining friends and family and watching the children play.
