Guest studio in quiet garden of family home for max. 2 people. Dbl bed, kitchenette w/fridge & microwave, plus small shower room. Separate building with its own entrance - no need to enter our home, just come and go easily past the side of the house. Tranquil setting but close to shops, cafes & good transport to central London, plus use of pool in summer.

PLEASE NOTE we don’t rent the pool or garden for parties & be sure to read all details, especially Getting Around - any questions just ask!

The space
Great place for people wanting something a bit different on their trip to London. A small, simple guest studio in our garden, bright and pretty with lots of natural light, plenty of privacy and all the amenities you need for one or two people. There is a comfortable double bed, wifi access, a TV/DVD player with a ROKU box that offers some live channels plus apps for streaming services and catch-up TV. We have a wide selection of DVDs you're welcome to borrow. The kitchenette has a fridge with small freezer compartment, a microwave, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, crockery, cutlery and utensils. The en-suite has a WC, basin and shower. We supply tea and coffee-making supplies, fresh bedding and towels plus basic toiletries.

French doors access a little raised patio directly outside the studio giving guests a view of the garden and the beautiful green woodland space of Streatham Common. From mid-May to mid-Sept we have a heated outdoor swimming pool which our guests are welcome to enjoy. The studio sits adjacent to but separate from the main house so guests have their own key and can come and go as they like.

It's unusual to find a property like this not far from central London, and it would appeal to people looking for a place to stay that is out of the ordinary, and who want somewhere peaceful to return after a busy day sightseeing or studying.

NB: Please note that we have a medium size dog who is friendly and would never have access to the Studio, but will be often out in the garden during the day, so please do not book this Studio if you are not keen on dogs!

Where you’ll be

London, United Kingdom

We live very close to Streatham Common with its beautiful woodland and open spaces. The formal Edwardian garden, The Rookery, is one of London's hidden gems and a great place to explore. The centre of Streatham is also close by with great shops, restaurants and pubs, plus a fantastic jazz bar, and all the amenities you might need, from supermarkets to banks to an excellent library. Slightly further afield is Crystal Palace with its historic park and great selection of antique shops, art galleries and hip, new bars and eateries.

We are a happy, busy family of five (kids are age 20, 18 and 16) and a friendly medium size dog, who enjoy welcoming visitors to our house in London. I am a literary agent and my husband works in retail management. We are fans of theatre, film, restaurants, art galleries, architecture and museums - everything that London is famous for - and can help our London guests plan their stay in this wonderful city with tips on places to go, ideas that might not be in any guide book, and best ways to get around town. My husband is a keen cyclist, so bike enthusiasts are particularly welcome and we have space to safely store your bicycle.

We love to travel and visit other cities - our style is to make a plan and then to wander off from the plan and discover as we go along! Our hosting style is similar - we are relaxed and have lots going on in our family but will always have time to chat and help guests plan their visit and discover some fun thing to do that they might not have thought of.

If you have any questions about us or about what we can do to help your visit to London run smoothly, please get in touch any time.
