Rent our fantastic cabin with 3 bedrooms for 2-6 persons. Fantastic location up in the Swedish mountains called "fjällen". A very scenic ride up from Stockholm with car, train/coach. Do fishing, walking, treks or all types of skiing.
Rent our wonderful cabin with 3 bedrooms accomodating 2-6 persons. The location is really fantastic up in the Swedish mountains called "fjällen".
Fully equipped with WC & shower, 3 bedrooms, one room with a double bed, 2 rooms with bunk beds. Kitchen with microowen + dishwasher, a dinnertable for 6 persons. A wonderful livingroom with open fire, 32´ TV, a brand new (2013) really big sofa in front of the fireplace, and etc. The style is "nordic chic" and since the house is a real log house, you will hopefully find it nice and welcoming. The standard and convenience is the same as in an apartment. There is of course WC, hot water in the kitchen, in the shower and a separate dryer for boots.
Come to Härjedalen/Jämtland and experience it! You can fly in to Stockholm and combine it with a week or a weekend in this lovely cabin in the swedish mountains. With our cabin as a hub, you are in the middle of wonderful untouched nature, with the possibility to ski or do walks and easy hikes in the surroundings, but still close to restaurants & foodstores. (5-10 minutes by car to shops and to two of the best restaurants in the region).
In winter there is superb slalom or cross country skiing here. The cabin has ski in ski out, no matter which skis you are on! A bunch of well kept cross contry tracks is only a few hundred meters away, and for downhill you ski directly in to the lift, apr 400 meters away.
2 ski areas are very close to the house (ski in or 5 mins with car). There is 2 moore nearby resorts (within 10-20 minutes by car).
All four resorts gives you a total of 54 ski slopes, with green, blue, red and black slopes + as said, a bunch of well kept Cross country tracks outside our door!
The cabin is located north of Stockholm and it´s a half days drive by car or 50 minutes to fly fr.o.m. Stockholm to Östersund airport (it is a pretty cheap flight from stockholm). From Östersund you can book a rental car or take a coach that takes apr. 1,5 hours. There is also a brand new train
(in the winterseason) that includes bustransfer. It leaves from Stockholm, or from the westcoast, Gothenburg or Malmoe. We will be happy to give you all info you need!
You have to bring your own linen or rent them from us.
You have to do the cleaning by yourself.
Sufficient cleaningstuff, including vaccumcleaner is in the closet by the front door.
Leave the house in the same condition it was in when you arrived...
The cabin effectively hosts 1 to 6 persons. There are 6-8 proper beds, 6 single (bunkbeds 4+2) and 1 doublebed as shown on photos. The kitchentable is for six persons, so our recommendation is to be up to 6 persons.
A charming and cosy place, absolutely perfect for relaxing. Per was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
Our stay at the Wonderful Cabin in Vemdalen, Sweden was very nice. It was very peaceful and the neighbors are very friendly. There was was some road construction during our stay but Per informed us of that and we were then prepared. We did walk to the waterfall that Per suggested and they were indeed very lovely. What an amazing area to explore and then come home to the Wonderful Cabin. It was perfect for us and if we ever travel back to Sweden we may just have to make a stop in Vemdalen again. Thank you Per for the wonderful experience.
We stayed in the truly "Wonderful Cabin in Vemdalen" for a week over new years. From our first contact with Per to the minute we locked the cabin, our experience could not have been better. The well-equiped cabin is only a short walk from the Nordic trails and we already look forward to our next visit.
I had the pleasure of staying at this cottage for 3 nights at the end of April. After booking the host (Peo Nyman) got in touch via email and we also had a chat on skype to make sure I knew how to get there, how everything worked in the cottage and what to see in the area. Peo is a really nice guy who couldnt do enough to help and wanted to make sure I got the most out of the visit.
I arrived at the snow covered cottage in the early evening after
a drive up from the Karlstad area. (Swedish roads are the quietest I have ever experienced and all the drivers seem very polite. A bit different to the UK). Peo had kindly arranged for someone to pop in and put the water and heating on so it was nice and cosy from start. I also rented some bed linen and towels which were waiting for me in the hallway.
The cottage was wonderful. Nice high ceilings, plenty of light and nice and cosy. I think I was the only one staying in the little neighbourhood at that time as I didnt see any cars at the other houses or any lights on. It was a very peaceful place to be, not a sound to be heard. Even though it was snowing and a little cold I spent time sitting out on the front with a cup of coffee just looking at the snow. I have never seen so much snow in my life.
I spent a lot of time walking around the local area. Peo pointed out that you can walk pretty much everywhere as Sweden has laws that grant you free access across most of the land. I think I could have done with some snow shoes as I fell in to deep snow a few times but this was all part of the fun. I walked up to the hotel up the road and tried a few of the local Jamtland Brewery beers. The staff were really nice, spoke perfect english and were only too happy to talk. In the evenings I sat in front of the log fire with wood purchased from the builders shop in Klovsjo. (Huge bag of wood plus firelighters was quite cheap).
As you have read I only have good things to say about the cottage. I look forward to returning, maybe at a warmer time and seeing the area in a whole new way.

We had a wonderful stay at Per's cottage. We saw more wild life in the surrounding area in 3 days than we had seen in the previous month in Europe. Picking wild berries around the cottage for breakfast was an added bonus. Could not more highly recommend it.
I live in Stockholm, Sweden with my wife Katti and three, close to grown up youths. We all love to travel. We used Airbnb for the first time in NY april, 2010 and also recently, in september 2013 The NY visit in Manhattan on 13th street was really good and when we visited Croatia, we had a wonderful stay in a nice apartment with a fantastic view in Dubrovnik. So Airbnb works really good! Love the idea to rent peoples places and to host for others. Me and my family like to travel and to try all kinds of experiences, nature sports, like canoeing, kayaking, hiking, downhill skiing and walking.
