The Jordaan is a district of the city of Amsterdam in the Netherlands. The area is bordered by the Lijnbaansgracht canal to the west, the Prinsengracht to the east, the Brouwersgracht to the north and the Leidsegracht to the south.
Originally a working-class neighbourhood, the Jordaan has become one of the most expensive, upscale locations in the Netherlands. It is home to many art galleries, particularly for modern art, and is also dotted with speciality shops and restaurants. Markets are held regularly at Noordermarkt, the Westerstraat (the Lapjesmarkt textile market) and Lindengracht.
Rembrandt spent the last years of his life in the Jordaan, on the Rozengracht canal. He was buried in the Westerkerk church, at the corner of Rozengracht and Prinsengracht, just beyond the Jordaan. The Anne Frank House, where Anne Frank went into hiding during World War II, is located on the edge of the Jordaan, on the Prinsengracht canal.
Because of the narrow streets and canals of the Jordaan, there are not many buses and trams that drive through the Jordaan itself. Which makes the district nice and quite.
The paved Rozengracht (2 minute walk) is wide enough to offer space to the public transport. And this is done very extensive. Complete series of trams and buses go via the Rozengracht through the Jordaan. This is done by the trams 13, 14 and 17 and the buses 142, 170 and 172.
For the rest the most trams and buses go around the Jordaan. On the North side you have the buses 18 and 22, on the West side on the Marnixstraat the trams 3 and 10 and on the south side there are the trams 1, 2 and 5 via the Leidsestraat.

We had a great weekend in Amsterdam and really enjoyed staying at Eva's place. We were welcomed on arrival by her friendly brother who gave us some excellent tips on local places to eat and drink. The apartment was clean, warm and comfortable, and couldn't be in a better location. Highly recommended.
All things listed on the posting was accurate. The apartment is in a perfect location to the train, shops, resturants and the Anne Frank House. It came equipped with all we needed. The host was even kind enough to let us check in slightly early. Thanks Eva!
The listing description was accurate. The neighboorhood was great, there was everything we were looking for in the area.
L'appartement est superbe et extrêmement bien placé!
Je le recommande vivement !
Merci Eva pour ce beau logement
Tidy, modern apartment in a great location at the back of a canal side building. Eva was responsive and accommodating. Lovely loft sleeping area. Good mattress and shower.
Lovely flat ideally located litterally 3min away from Ann Frank Huis and in the heart of the charming and lively Jordaan's area, we had a really nice stay. The flat is clean and well-decorated and we really appreciated Eva's flexibility on the check-in/check-out. Thanks Eva!
