The space
Enjoy a private soak and back yard without exposing yourself to Corona-virus! Clothing Optional bedroom and back yard, and just close the drapes to make the entire house clothing optional! Once you arrive you may not want to leave, so there is a reasonable check in time of 2 p.m. and a check out time of 11 a.m.. Spices, soaps, lotions, pots & pans, dishes, knife block, blender, 4 slice toaster, Keurig, 6 K-cups & tea bags, even laundry detergent! Put everything together for the perfect place to Soak & Chill. Space to make your visit what YOU want it to be: A peaceful, serene Zen-like oasis or a private party! Original punched tin ceiling, stylishly colorful decor with an eclectic blend of genuine antiques, vintage and new pieces all displayed with a flair that shows off a selection of original art to delight the eye (some is for sale). Dog-friendly: Separate $40 fee per week for up to 2 dogs ($40 minimum; $150 maximum). Entire house and yard is yours privately to make your stay exactly what YOU need and desire! We even have amenities that there was no place to list! (E.g. manicure set, extra set of sheets, extra pillows, candles w/wick trimmer, beach chairs and ice chest if you want to venture off-premises for a day trip, both glass AND plastic wine glasses.) The electric fireplace in the bedroom can have flame only or with heat, so you can enjoy it year round for that cozy feeling, propped up in bed with all the pillows. Roast marshmallows over the wood fire bowl out on the spa patio. Easily adjust the temperature of the all natural mineral water flowing into the cowboy soaking tub as the day goes by. Move around the yard from one seating area to the next to maximize the desired amount of sun or shade. Grill some hotdogs or steaks on the Barbie. please note that along with the Evergreens and Texas sage and pecan trees, there are Oleander bushes which can be toxic to dogs. I have had dogs around Oleander bushes for literally decades and to me most of them show no interest whatsoever and eating the leaves, as if they know better. :-) but I thought I would put a heads up in here as a warning and disclaimer for those who might be concerned. In case there are 4 of you: sofa bed in the living room is wider than a twin but narrower than a double bed, so 2 people on it will be VERY cozy, but totally doable for some couples! If you choose to come with a 4-person group, please enter 3 people--not 4. That way you will only be charged an extra $15 per night whether it's 3 OR 4 people. Off-street parking (parking pad between house and sidewalk in front). Coronavirus update: We follow airbnb's guidelines. No cable but Smart TV allows login using your subscriptions such as Hulu, HBO GO, Amazon Prime Etc, DVD player with a few dozen oldies but goodies and a nearby Redbox.

Where you’ll be

Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, United States

Quiet "water district" neighborhood near the Rio Grande and downtown, officially known as the Hot Springs Historic District, although obviously, not all the water is "hot". A great place to explore on foot or bike, as this part of town is not hilly at all. Near the "Healing Waters Trail". There are numerous murals and all kinds of art around this quirky artsy Hot Springs town. You can have a little adventure exploring on foot or the bikes. One and a half blocks from T or C Brewery or about 4 blocks from the Rio Grande depending on which direction you take.

Hey folks. This duplex--located in the Hot Springs Historic District and consisting of Aquarius Soak & Chill and Caribbe--is one several ventures, adventures, and entrepreneurial enterprises I've been involved with--but one very dear to my heart, for sure! I was personally involved with refurbishing and furnishing both sides and each has its own unique, colorful, art-filled eclectic vibe and each offers its own privacy fenced back garden with a very peaceful Zen-like ambiance. Now, in going down the suggestions listed by airbnb, things I can't live without are laughter, the love and great relationship I have with my son, d-in-l and 2 grandkids, as well as my sis and a few other good friends scattered around NM and Cali--being in and around water, and traveling. Oh yes, good food! Can't forget that... : ) I like to snorkel, read (mostly humorous sci-fi and mysteries), play WWF, binge watch my fav shows (mostly comedy, dramedy, travel shows, sci-fi and mysteries), listen to rock ‘n’ roll music, dance, and just hang out with friends and family, maybe with some beer and/or wine. I love nature--redwoods, the ocean, any kind of water... I enjoy going out to lunch at my favorite restaurants and trying new ones when traveling. I have a fairly broad palate and actually am pretty adventurous in life overall. I've had the good fortune to have gone whitewater rafting on numerous locations and used to go backpacking and car camping quite frequently. Although I can be a sociable person, I need my down time, too; so when I travel I generally prefer to have an entire space to myself rather than just a room in someone's house, even with a private bathroom--or even with a private cottage with common spaces shared with the owner. And so that was my vision for Aquarius Soak & Chill and Caribbe, too--for it to be a very private place with all the amenities I want when staying there myself for a night, that would be there for you wonderful Guests to enjoy PRIVATELY when venturing to this quirky little hot springs town. A place to have as much privacy as needed but be as much in the "thick of it" as desired, too. So this is my vacation home when I'm there. I've furnished it with some of my best works of art to enjoy when I'm there, too. I do love art! Creating it, viewing it, soaking it in, as it were : ) My days of purchasing new art are at an end, now, since I have more than I have wall space for, having downsized after being widowed in Sept 2017 (it's still hard sometimes but he would want me to move on, continue my adventures and be happy.) My traveling style is also one of mixing up high-end budget places with low-end luxury places, if that makes sense. (That's why I tried to make Aquarius, in particular, or both units if rented together, on a par with the Casita at the billionaire's Lodge in town but at a fraction of the price!) On a road trip, I want to be able to choose places where I can settle in for a few days to a week and really discover most of what there is to be explored--from tourist-y places to the locals' favs--meeting new people along the way--before moving on to the next stopping off point. In 2018, I took a one month long solo trip to Cozumel and down the coast of the Riviera Maya and down into the Costa Mayan region of Mexico. I hope this gives you some feel for what makes life worth living for me, and that you decide to soak in the privacy and joy and Zen feel and whatever else you make of it, at Caribbe or Aquarius Soak & Chill! RELAX, SOAK, CHILL, LAUGH, AND SWING!--as the signs I've painted around the garden of Aquarius encourage you do to. Oh, yes, and "let your inner child run free"... : ) Peace!

During your stay
I am available as desired by you but will not typically initiate contact. I live in town but not even in this neighborhood, and your privacy will be TOTALLY respected! There is an 8' privacy fence between your space and the other unit in this duplex, and entrances are on opposite sides of the building. The entrance to Aquarius Soak & Chill is behind a lockable gate.
