The house is perched on a residential street (quiet!) between Cambridgeport and Central Square. The space is the basement of the house, which is a semi-studio with a half bathroom. It is equipped with a microwave and electric kettle. The ceiling is low (6'2"), so please let me know if you think that is a concern. Also, there is a little bit of noise from the boiler and the plumbing sometimes, but it hasnt been an issue for past occupants. There is kitchen on the second floor of the house, that is available upon request.
We're a full house, with six young professionals and graduate students. We enjoy hanging out, playing board games, watching movies, discovering hidden gems in the area.
In close reach of bars, dance studios, shops, and restaurants. Rivergods, an eccentrically decorated bar, is a local favorite, and a minute's walk away. Cambridge and Boston are both easy to explore from here.
Easy access to public transportation: both the trains (Red Line - Central Square) and bus services.
We have a parking space, so no parking nightmares for this stay!
We also have another room we just started renting - if this is full, check it out here! https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/1627965
Raffi was very amendable to our late booking, early arrival and unconfirmed end date, we deeply appreciate his flexibility and friendliness! The location of this place is perfect, both Harvard and MIT are very accessible by the T, which is a 10 min walk. While private and easily accessible, this is not a fancy airbnb, much more like crashing in a friend's basement. It was certainly private in the huge basement, though noise from the large house and piping/heating system carried greatly. As a heads up, the private bathroom does not have a shower, so you share one of the house's very used bathrooms upstairs. This is better for someone ok with a less hotel-like experience.
Raffi was a great host. He sent out a lot of detailed information before the trip to make the arrival easy, and was very responsive the whole time. The house was nice, clean, and had a great location close to Central Square. The other roommates were also friendly, and were inviting to hang out or play games. I would definitely go back again on a future trip to Cambridge.
I had an amazing stay at Raffi's house. The room is very big, Raffi's roommates are great, helpful, very friendly. I enjoyed my weekend Boston visit thanks to them. If you are looking for a stay in Boston (short-long doesn't matter), you should definitely consider this house. You will have an amazing time and have great friends!!
Raffi Mardirosian was a great host for my Boston experience. He is kind and helped me a lot during my trip.
The place was so great since it has great access to subway and to universities. This helps me a lot since I have important business meetings.
I hope to visit here again in near future!
The basement bedroom at Pleasant Place was quite nice. The hosts had provided a clean and well kept environment, complete with its own bathroom and computer (I just used their complementary wifi). The noise from upstairs and the furnace in the basement was noticeable at times, but not distracting or annoying. I only had the pleasure of meeting Will, a roommate of Raffi's, but he was a pleasant and gracious host. I would certainly consider staying again!
Excellent and large basement space. Very private. A bit of noise from upstairs, but that didn't bother me at all. Location is excellent – easy walking distance from both Harvard and MIT, and across the street from a great gastro pub. Very responsive hosts, even though I saw only one of them, for a total of four minutes, the entire weekend.
The location is really convenient for visiting MIT and taking the red line Metro. The room is cosy and the bed is super comfortable! Raffi and Mira are both very friendly and welcoming and so are the other residents staying on the premise. They have made the stay really easy and comfortable. Recommended for those looking at meeting great people and affordable stay in close proximity to the universities. I have totally enjoyed my stay there!
I spent almost a whole week at pleasant place and it was a very nice experience. I arrived on a Saturday evening and I got a warm welcome by two of the housemates of Mira.
The room in the basement is very space and comfortable, with its own half-bathroom. I was quite impressed with the decoration, it really made a difference.
The location of the place is excellent, close to both Harvard and MIT, very convenient.
I totally recommend it.
Mira's available room is a basement with plenty of space. The bed is a futon, there's a desk for working, the Internet access is fast, and there are clean bathrooms upstairs. This is not the fanciest place you will find, but it is comfortable enough. Staying here will give you a feel for how many people in Cambridge live; it's a more authentic experience than staying in a hotel.
Central Square is within a five-seven minute walk, and from there you can take buses and subways that go straight to Harvard and MIT and across the river to Boston. Free parking in front is a great benefit; this is one of the few places in town where you don't need a permit to park.
Mira and her roommates were friendly and accommodating hosts during our visit!
This is indeed a pleasant place to stay. Lots of space in the basement, with your own toilet and sink. Everything is perfectly clean. Most importantly, everybody is very welcoming and nice. I definitely enjoyed the stay!
