Welcome to a creative, quiet and tidy student room in Stockholm.
Whether you are a student or friends traveling together or a single traveler visiting Stockholm, this modern Terrace house has several rooms to offer for a comfortable stay!
Located in Rinkeby, Stockholm, this room has a comfortable bed, a desk area for the one who needs to do some work and a drawer.
More to it. It has two bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bathtub, and one toilet. Outside are two cute gardens on both sides. The house is equipped with a washing room and you have Internet access, and of course, a great host who can tell you everything you would want to know about the art scene, clubs and attractions in Stockholm.
Next door is the bus stop that take you all the way to Stockholm university or to Kista, with Stockholm's largest indoor mall, less than ten minutes away.
The subway is a three minutes walk away and it takes you to Stockholm's central station, in twenty minutes.
Next door you also have the 'Järvafältet', one of Stockholm's biggest and most beautiful nature reserves, which is made for long walks and bike rides. No need to bring your own bike with you as you can borrow one from me.
Welcome to a creative and peaceful neighborhood.
I needed a place to stay in Stockholm last minute and Mariam was very kind to offer me her accommodation.
Mariam is a great host. She has been living in Stockholm for long and knows all that you will need to know about getting around, places to go etc etc.
The house is clean and has all amenities that you will possibly need.
It has a very international feel and always nice people around to communicate. Quiet location for a quiet sleep and night and a well equipped kitchen should you want to make some home cooked meal.
I would recommend this place for anyone with trust
I spent a month in velvet room at Arty Guesthouse. It was very friendly place and I highly recommend. Lenka
All in all, I'm please by the experience I had there. The room itself was sufficiently comfortable, but would be two small for two people. It was prepared for my arrival, so the room was reasonably clean. I was provided with two towels and a bath robe. The room itself does not lock, but I did not have any issues with other people in the house.
The guest house is located in the Rinkeby district, which is about 25 minutes of subway ride to the Central Station. I've been told that Rinkeby is a notorious suburb, with gangsters and stuff... although the house is right around the corner from the central road of the district, so I did not get myself into some questionable position, even though I had to come back after midnight couple of times.
As for the groceries stores, there's one right across the street and a bunch of others near the subway station along with the supermarket, which unfortunately get closed at 8pm.
Anyway, this house is great bang for the buck, if you're traveling on a budget.
Miriam's place was good!, we learned a lot with everybody stayed at that time in there. Was close to metro and was not difficult be connected with the city. We stay in a cosy room and the house had all we need to spend enough time in Stockholm. Definitely recommended!
I spent one month in tne velvet room and I really liked it there. The atmosphere in the house is easygoing, the location is well-connected with the city centre, and I plan to stay in this guesthouse again as soon as I am back in Sweden.
we didn't meet mariam but we were very enjoyed of our holiday in her house! the room was pretty and hospitable; there were also radiators in the bedroom and in the bathroom. it was great!
The velvet room is spacious and has a comfortable bed.
There are two bathrooms and a toilet in the house, and despite all the rooms being occupied, I never had to wait much to use them. The kitchen is a little small for 8+ people.
I liked living with students and young travellers from all over the world, and Mariam is very sweet and helpful.
The common areas were a mess though, especially the kitchen (during the week I spent there, in which Mariam wasn't home, the kitchen garbage wasn't regularly taken away and we ran out of toilet paper), probably the natural consequence of so many people living together, but I think this could be easily improved if wanted.
A nice, comfortable and reasonably priced place to stay in Stockholm, and I think the friendly and international atmosphere is a big plus!
Mariam was a great host, we felt very comfortable. some other students were there at the same time in Mariam's other rooms, so you had the chance to meet others. to get to the city is no problem with the blue T-line in about 20 mins. thanks a lot for this very down-to-earth stay!
Mariam is a nice and welcoming host; she is an easy going and a calm person.
What I don’t understand is that other people write that the house is clean. The Velvet room was ok, the decoration was beautiful and the fresh bed was really appreciated after long days of walking. However the bathrooms and the toilets were dirty. They looked like they were not cleaned for some weeks. The house is generally not very tidy and the fridge, in which I was allowed to put some food, was not really clean.
I don’t say that to be mean, but I think that people who want to stay at Mariam place have the right to know.
Mariam is very kind and her place is really good to meet travelers from all around the world and share a good diner in the shared kitchen.
I had a pleasant stay at the guesthouse. Very easy to get to the city centre, and I had all the basics I needed during my stay. This is a good place for anyone that needs a place to leave their belongings and sleep, who wants to maximise their time in Stockholm and the surrounds. It was quite busy during my stay and if you're interested in swapping stories with other travellers this is a good place to do it.
