Joana was a great host! From the minute we arrived we felt very welcomed and at home.
We really loved how the apartment was decorated and enjoyed being greated by her sweet cat :)
It is in a fantastic location - a short walk from all the attractions and in the heart of the great nightlife of Trastevere.
Thank you Joana! :)
our trip to rome was great, and huge part of this was our great host Joana!
Her room is super nice, and the little cat was loved from the first moment we met her!
I can recomend it to everyone, you are quick everywhere, and there are lots of nice restaurants around!
great joice, we will be back!
My time in Roma was short and for business. Joana Welcome us very warmly and was helpfull in many ways. The flat is very well situated and cosy... We were at home. I will pass by Jonan place anytime I'll be back to Roma!!!
I was staying at Joanas and her sisters apartment for a week and I really enjoyed the time. Their place is luminous and furnished with lots of personal touch which gives it a nice and welcomy atmosphere. Joana and her sister were both absolutely lovely and helped me wherever they could. It really was a pleasure to meet them and I can only recommend to take a look :)
We unfortunately didn't have a great experience at Joana's room. She was not available, and neither was her friend who stays in the apartment as well. Instead, we were met by one of her sister's friends, who nearly left the apartment before we got there (we bumped into her on the street outside).
We also were not informed that there was another gentleman staying at the apartment. I guess he has some kind of an office there as well, and while he was very pleasant and polite to us, it was a bit strange that we were not aware of his presence at any point.
With regards to the apartment itself, this is a case where the pictures posted here are far more flattering than what it is really like inside. The walls in the corridor and inside the bedroom are all scratched up with pencil marks and graffiti-like marks that just make the place feel not clean. It felt like we were staying in someone's dorm room, which wasn't the experience we were hoping for. The floor in the corridor felt sticky the first day we arrived, too, like something had been spilt and not cleaned up.
The kitchen and bathroom themselves were bright, but also not very clean. Joana's roommate left some items out on the counter in the kitchen for breakfast, but the fact that the counter was dirty and untidy didn't really make us feel like eating there.
Joana's roommate was kind enough to write us an e-mail regarding the different things to do in Trastevere w/ regards cafes and restaurants. The apartment is definitely in a very happening area, and very close to public transport (we took the 8 tram or the H bus everywhere). Felt relatively safe at night as well.
Still, I don't think there's much to say other than the fact that we were, overall, disappointed. We don't expect much from places other than being neat and clean - which is not an unreasonable expectation - so Joana's apartment fell very short.
As the owner was away, I was greeted by her close friend. Lucero was quick to help my figure out the best way to make my way around the city, particularly when I needed to be in certain places at a certain time. The apartment is airy and relaxed and the bedroom is comfortable, quiet and has its own key. The location in Trastevere is excellent, as the tram practically runs in front of the house, meaning you can get to the historic center of Rome and back, quickly and safely. More importantly, I enjoyed how casual and relaxed I felt in the house, sharing a meal and great coversation with Lucy and her friends. That's the best way to get to know a place!
We stayed 2 nights and 2 days at Joana's place with my boyfriend for Easter.
Joana was not here but Lucy, one of the roommate, welcomed us very warmly and the girls set everything so that we would feel comfortable there. Lucy was really helpful and called us before we arrived to make sure we knew how to reach the apartment. She even bought us some food for breakfast and lunch since many shops were closed for Easter.
The apartment was very comfy, close to transportation and the neigbourhood was very nice.
We really enjoyed our 2 days there, for sure and warmly recommend this lovely room!
