Assisi room in the Subasio Park (1)

Bed & Breakfast - Private room · Via Santa Maria di Lignano, Assisi, Umbria 06081, Italy

The Space

Double bed room available in a country house in Assisi. Wonderful location, inside the Subasio Park. Ideal for resting after a busy turist day. 480 mt. on the sea level, slightly sulphorous natural water in the bathroom. Charming and romantic, it is isolated enough to enjoy the silence and peace of the forest, although well connected to get to Assisi town center in 10 minutes drive.
The country house is just 50 metres far from a waterfall of the River Tescio, ideal for bathing and relaxing. Its patio includes a table, chairs and parasol for breakfast outdoors.
Wi-Fi and parking free.
We are also very happy to cater for vegetarians.
La Zuppa inglese b&b is easily found: coming from Assisi, take the road to Gualdo Tadino (SP 444); 5 km. out of Assisi, at km.26 of the road, take a right, direction Santa Maria di Lignano; once on the road to Santa Maria di Lignano, after about 2 km take a right at the crossroad, and after 400 m. you will find on your right a small road that goes right into the woods literally. That is the entrance of La Zuppa inglese b&b.

  • The apartment was perfectly located to be able to walk all around Assisi. It had a roof top patio that was very well finished and with incredible views of the large dome of a nearby church and the castle/fort on the top of the mountain. However, we had rented an apartment because we wanted to cook a few meals and we modified our plans because the dishwasher did not work and the apartment had no microwave. In addition, in other locations we had been able to plug our laptop to a flat screen TV to view films and courses on DVDs, but the apartment's TV was an older and smaller model and we satisfied ourselves with our laptop's screen. Nevertheless, we thoroughly enjoyed our three days in Assisi, the highlight being the pope's visit on 4 October.

  • We loved our stay in the Mansarda in beautiful Assisi. Laura is warm, friendly and helpful, picked us up from the station and offered suggestions of where to visit and showed us around the apartment, also checked on our well being throughout our stay. we loved the apartment, the terrace is gorgeous overlooking the rooftops and bell towers. We had everything we needed, and were extremely comfortable in a quite romantic setting.

  • Laura met us at the train station and drove us to the apartment and shared much valuable information about the town. Such a hospitable entry to Assisi!! The apartment was wonderful and so unique. We felt we could have stayed much longer as the ambience of the apartment was so peaceful and beautiful. It was spacious, comfortable, quiet and so convenient for exploring Assisi. Everything we needed was provided.

  • Our visit in Assisi was wonderful. Laura met us at the station and drove us up the mountain to Assisi. What a generous thing to do! Along the way she told us of many of the best places to see. (Don't miss S. Damiano.)
The studio apartment was beautiful and elegant and only a few seconds walk to the main piazza. So very convenient.
Thank you Laura and Alessandro... see you again soon.

  • We stayed two nights in Assisi. The location is splendid, right in the middle of Assisi (less than a minute from the main square).
The bathroom is in top condition and the shower a dream.
The Wi-Fi signal is weak to non-existent. We had to go outside to get a strong reliable signal (The router is next door and the walls block the signal).
The temperature was always mild due to the apartment's location in the basement. The only natural light source is the glass entrance door which is frosted expect for the upper part. So when we were in the apartment during the day we always had the door open for more light.
At night you have to lock the door, so if you prefer sleeping with an open window that's not an option.

  • What an amazing place! Like paradise. So beautifully decorated, with simplicity and taste, and tucked away in a little valley that feels wonderfully remote despite only being 7km from Assisi. We were surrounded by oak forest and meadows, and only a hundred metres or so from a waterfall with a swimmable pool beneath. The kids had so much fun being in the country again and we heard an owl outside our bedroom window on a couple of nights. We all enjoyed having a spacious but quite luxurious bedroom and a bathroom for each bedroom. The kitchen is downstairs from the rooms and dining room but was well equipped with cooking equipment (although no basic food staples). We spent a lot of time on the sunny patio during the day and used the outdoor wood barbecue on one night. Laura is truly a lovely host, very kind and helpful but discrete - she cooked us a super Zuppa Inglese for our first night. I would wholeheartedly recommend this little hideaway to anybody wtih a car and a taste for rural life.

About
:) I am a chef originally from Faenza and I moved many years ago in Assisi where I worked in the field of catering and tourism. Alessandro, my husband says I'm full of good taste and vitality, but you know: love is blind ... :)
