This is a 4 bedroom (2 bathroom) apartment. I live in one of the rooms, and host Airbnb travelers like yourself in the others. From here, you’ll be in one of the best locations in all of NYC, close to the L and JMZ subway stations (each one stop from Manhattan) to get you anywhere in the city.
This is a new building in a PRIME Williamsburg location on the corner of Bedford Ave (the bustling main street that runs through the neighborhood) and South 4th Street. This is a small private (lockable) room with a bunkbed that can comfortably accommodate 1-3 people.
Williamsburg is the artistic and cultural center of Brooklyn, with some of the best music and nightlife in NYC. There are TONS of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, boutique stores, music venues, and everything else you can possibly imagine close by. The area is very safe, and the apartment has never had a problem with rodents, roaches, or bedbugs. By staying here, you’ll have the opportunity to both live like a local, and meet travelers from all over the world :)
You'll be within a short walking distance to the Bedford L & the Marcy JMZ subway stations (each one stop to Manhattan), from which the entire city will be easily accessible to you. On a nice day, you can also walk or ride a bike over the Williamsburg bridge into downtown Manhattan. For subway & bus directions anywhere in the city (including the airport), I recommend the website & app HopStop.
I always provide a clean room, with fresh sheets and towels for every guest. The bathroom has a hair dryer and is stocked with basic supplies. You’re welcome to use anything in the kitchen, bathroom, or common areas of the apartment. You may check-in at your convenience, anytime after 3pm on the day of your arrival (even late at night). I cannot accommodate early check-ins, because other guests will be checking out the same day, however, you may drop your luggage off early if you need to.
Please feel free to get in touch if you have any additional questions or if there's anything I can help you with.
Interaction with Guests
Other Things to Note
Please be aware that this is a residential building (not a hotel), and you'll be sharing the apartment with other Airbnb guests. Please be respectful of neighbors and other guests by keeping noise at a reasonable volume and cleaning up after yourself. I don't host children under 18 or pets (sorry!). Please don't book if you are at risk of transporting bedbugs (I've never had bedbugs here, and I'd like to keep it that way!). Other than that, enjoy your stay!!!
My first time in NY and using Airbnb was pretty cool. The location and setup was close to the places I needed to be. Was a nice neighborhood. The Apartment setup was cool. great time and looked forward to my next trip.
Great experience. Even though I didn't meet Ahm, the space was clean and included everything I could think of and more. There are clear directions and great recommendations for places to go to in the area.
The set up for picking up the key was easy and efficient, and the apartment is in a good location, maybe 10 minutes from the subway. It's right on the edge of Williamsburg, a stone's throw from good eats and drinks and Ahm left local recommendations. Though we didn't actually meet the host, communication was timely and instructions were all clear for check in/out.
As far as the space itself, we were in a bunk with a double below and a single above. Bedding was clean, the floor was unswept and the bedside table was dusty. The bathroom door handle on the inside was broken and fell off anytime someone used it. It was "hostel clean"; by no means spotless. Because we were sharing the space with other travellers there wasn't any hot water left when we wanted to shower in the morning so make sure you get in first.
Essentially the place isn't anything fancy; it's a hostel without staying in a hostel. The price for our stay was affordable and the location is good, but if you're looking for more than a budget experience, this is not your place. You do have access to a kitchen space and fridge however, so if you want to cook it could be a step up from a hostel.
We really appreciated the speed with which Ahm got back to us as we only booked a day before arriving. This kind of convenience was great and the place was sufficient for our one night lay over.
Also, in our check out instructions, Ahm asks all guests to contact him personally if they have concerns but requests that you not voice these concerns in your review and that you leave a 5 star review and he will do the same for you in turn. This was very off putting for us, because as avid travellers we think it's important that the reviews on a place accurately reflect the experience. It shouldn't be about trading to boost your profile, but about honesty. The place to our eyes was simply not a five star experience even for our purposes which were an affordable, one night lay over.
Great stay! Ahm was extremely hospitable and kind. Got a chance to meet him and chat upon my check-in. All of the small details around check-in and check-out were clear and taken care of. He was also extremely timely in responding to a quick question I had. He provided a great welcome package with WiFi, restaurants and local attractions. The place is great and modern. Good location as well.
