No. 236 Jln Padungan,
Nice little guesthouse with great people. They really care for their guests. Good breakfast with toast, jam, chocolate spread, bananas and either muffins, french toast, fruit or fried egg. The guesthouse is kept yery clean. As a family we slept in a dorm room with no windows. But that was perfectly o.k., since there was good light in the room and it was still dark in the (website hidden) worked well. Nice little balcony to hang out and plan your days. Many restaurants in the street close by. You can walk to the city center in about ten minutes. Busstop was also close by to go to the national park and the orang utans. Laundry service is available and for the first time during our travel the laundry smelled good.;-) Thumbs up for this nice place. Very good value for money.
The hosts where very welcoming and the accommodation was clean and modern. My first night was in a room without a window but I changed to a room with a window in a few days and it was very nice.
Samuel and his wife where very friendly and helpful. There was a nice breakfast and it is centrally located right in the heart of china town.
Samuel and Georgette are just about the loveliest people you will meet. They keep a very clean, cozy guesthouse and they are always more than willing to help with answering questions and providing any information or direction you may need. I've rarely felt so happy about going back to a place at the end of the day, and it really felt like a kind of home away from home. As I stayed there towards the end of my travels, it was a really great place to wind down. I was happy to spend time there simply relaxing on the balcony with a beer and something to read. I definitely recommend Marco Polo guesthouse for people looking for an affordable, clean, and friendly place to rest their heads in Kuching.
I would like to say we were pleased everything was clean and its close to restaurants and the water front.
We adopted our own taxi driver he was a great bloke he came when ever we called him and pointed out many things to us.
