The absolute best thing about our neighbourhood is that it is so near town yet so safe and quiet.Brilliant people live in our street and we have to respect them.
Most places are in walking distance but there is a bus stop two minutes away .Most tour buses will arrange a pick up near home and taxis are readily available.
Arrived in Galway after a pretty long day...flight from US land in Dublin and visit to Newgrange. A couple hour drive and we were welcomed by Caroline who provided great directions to Galway downtown with many recs for food and drink. Breakfasts were wonderful, bed comfortable and wonderful family. Thanks Caroline and Mick!!
Caroline and Mick were absolutely lovely! I am so happy I found them! Couldn't have asked for an easier transition when I moved to Ireland for school. I booked a room at their place to help me get on my feet for the first week or so and from my immediate arrival to my departure I felt so welcome. Even before arriving Caroline was always quick to email me back and made sure to fill me in on all the little details, directions, what bus to take etc. Once I arrived and was settled in she provided tea with biscuits and jam. Seriously, is there a better way to be welcomed to Ireland? :) I was always so impressed with her vast knowledge of all things Galway and her recommendations for restaurants and night life were fantastic. The breakfast each morning was always insanely delicious. She had thought of everything from yogurt to meats and cheeses to toast and cereal. Yum! You will not be disappointed. The neighborhood and location are excellent. You are walking distance to the city centre and also the University (NUIG), which was really important for me. Plus Caroline is always happy to provide you with directions wherever it is you need to go and she has plenty of maps! I promise you will feel nothing but taken care of here. Caroline makes sure you have everything you need and she is so approachable and friendly if you happen to have any questions! There's always a new water bottle and fresh towels provided daily, blow dryers available for use and umbrellas to borrow at the front door. She really has thought of it all! :) If you're looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay while you explore all that Galway has to offer, this is your spot! Caroline and Mick have so much more than just a room to offer you. They have both lived in Galway for so long and they are very in-tune with the events and popular places to visit. You will quickly fall in love with them and their lovely home, as well as with Galway!
We had a truly lovely two night stay with Caroline and Mick. From being welcomed in the evening with tea and fresh scones, to our comfortable room and delicious (and enormous) breakfasts, we could not have felt more at home during our visit to Galway. They are simply the warmest and friendliest hosts you can imagine (and they bake the best muffins). We would go out of our way to stay here again.

Thank you for everything
Unbeatable for the price. Maybe the best Airbnb stay we've had. Caroline was absolutely lovely and easy to chat with. She prepared a delicious breakfast and gave us good bar/restaurant recommendations. The bed is comfortable and the house is kept very clean. Quiet neighborhood. Would recommend to everyone.
Lovely! Very nice and comfortable. Wonderful breakfast. We chose to be a bit slower in the mornings, and Caroline was very helpful and flexible with breakfast timing. We were debating choosing an ultra cheap hostel, but I am very glad we stayed here!
Très bon accueil avec le thé et les scones, on se sent comme à la maison. Caroline nous donne toutes les informations et adresses sur Galway. Belles chambres et salle de bain (à partager avec tous les guests très propre). Petit déjeuner continental copieux. Je recommande
