Smoking outside. No hourly restrictions – come & go as you please. And as much as we like doggies, we just haven't had much luck having them in the house. Cats and other critters negotiable.
Our hosts were very, very welcoming. We were comfortable staying at their most lovely home. They were very accommodating and helpful to us. The room is quite large and private. They have a beautiful Asian garden, very inviting. We had easy access in and out of their home. Parking was not a problem even in this popular neighborhood. This was a great first Airbnb experience! We highly recommend our host, Hal.
When I arrived at Huong and Hal's place Huang greeted me at the door. She was very welcoming and helpful, and gave me great food and coffee recommendations. The room was really clean, spacious and beautiful. I enjoyed my stay.
As you can see from every other review here, Hal and Huong are amazing hosts. I can't speak highly enough about them! I told Hal that, if we lived in the same city, I'm sure we'd become good friends. Put simply, they are people that you just want to be around. However, at the same time, they gave us plenty of privacy and space to do our own thing! Really fantastic experience! If you want to see the best of Pittsburgh (and not just the obligatory tourist traps), then stay with Hal and Huong in Lawrenceville!
I can't say how great of hosts Hal and Huong were during my stay at their awesome house in Pittsburgh! The room was spacious and clean and I had full use of the entire house and wonderful back yard!
I mentioned to Hal that I had just moved here for work and he took time out of his busy schedule to give me information about the East End and surrounding areas (Ohio, Allegheny and The Mon Rivers to start) and also advice on what areas to look at for apartments.
If I ever need a place I would not hesitate to stay here again!!
Hal and Huong were both warm and welcoming the moment we arrived. Luckily for us, they were also very informative about the greater Pittsburgh area (we definitely recommend you follow their suggestions!)
The building was located around a bunch of cool shops and cafes/restaurants. Inside, we found that their bathroom we used was THE BEST. We actually found that we enjoyed having to go to the bathroom! Our room was spacious, warm, well furnished, and private. It was perfect for us, coming back from a day of activity and just relaxing and unwinding.
Overall, you couldn't ask for a better place to stay in Pittsburgh or (more importantly) better hosts to stay with.
Staying with Hal and Huong was such a pleasure — I felt right at home the moment Hal greeted me at the door. I had plenty of privacy, as I basically had the entire third floor to myself. As other reviewers have said, the bathroom is wonderful with the heated tiles! Their home is a block away from a bus stop that took me right downtown in 15-20 minutes, and Hal offered me coffee for my early mornings. It was a great stay.
