The space
👉PRIVATE COVERED PARKING INSIDE THE RESIDENCE: you will always have your own parking space assigned to apartment 935, inside the residence in a secure, fenced-off area reserved for residents only, which is very different from parking outside anywhere, perhaps hundreds of meters away, and leaving your car unattended.
👉PRIVATE BEACH WITH LIFEGUARD, UMBRELLAS, AND SUNBEDS: beach reserved for guests of the residence with direct access, lifeguard service, umbrellas, and private sunbeds.
👉PRIVATE WIFI WITH NETFLIX: you will have REAL wifi with reserved bandwidth from Speedy, which you will not share with anyone. Even hotels do not offer this service because it is shared.
They tell you that there is WiFi in Costa Rei, but in reality there is a hotspot service with a subscription, the problem is that it is very congested, the result is that you can't really browse the internet.
The same problem occurs with mobile phones (and therefore also with 4G routers), the cell towers are unable to meet the demands of tens of thousands of users, resulting in no internet connection or slow speeds with difficulty.

In summer, temperatures can reach 40 degrees with humidity above 80%! Anyone who offers you the choice of whether or not to have air conditioning is crazy! It's necessary! Otherwise, you won't sleep at night and you'll have sweaty eel syndrome every minute.

SARDESIDENCE = Sardinian apartment in Residence = is the name of the apartment, located at the Free Beach Residence in Via Marco Polo 8, Costa Rei.
The apartment of 41 square metres (with outdoor area) is an open space, it has the ideal space for a COUPLE OF ADULTS with a maximum of 2 CHILDREN/ADULTS for a total of 4 beds divided into 2 beds, one double (2 adults) and one single (2 children or 1 adult).
However, it is also possible to use the playpen and a cot for 1 child up to 3 years of age.
An additional folding bed is available on request, gratis.
It's a small apartment, please look carefully at the pictures for space and layout.
The two beds are located in a single room (open space) without dividing walls and doors.

WIFI AT COSTA REI: here's the truth!
No one tells you, but in the summer months at Costa Rei, data surfing with your mobile phone becomes complicated because the high demand of the many tourists (we're talking tens of thousands of requests) saturates the bandwidth capacity of the telephone cells, the wifi offered by the hotspots presents the same problem.
If I can give you a piece of advice: be very careful about the advertisements you find where they say there is WiFi in Costa Rei!
Because there is not! The public hotspot is not provided by the establishment where you are going but you have to buy access separately, imagine then having to share the signal with thousands of users!
The result is low-speed surfing or being offline at all.
In the world we live in today it is unthinkable not to have a stable and dedicated Internet connection, and if you have young children or teenagers you know what I'm talking about!
That's why I have chosen to provide an ADSL connection with guaranteed minimum bandwidth and private WIFI reserved exclusively for my guests in my flat, not to give up a service that has become indispensable, whether for work or play.
A private Internet connection means having only the device connected and all the bandwidth available. Not even in hotels there is this service as it is shared with all guests!

REAL PRICE OR NOT? WHAT DO YOU FIND?
Are you sure that the price you see on AirBnB ads is the final price?
Some hosts to keep the price low and attract customers omit all the basic costs, such as air conditioning (absolutely necessary with almost 40 degrees!) and linen, cleaning ...
Also, are you sure you will find cutlery, glasses, pots and pans or just toilet paper?
Ask well before you find yourself unpleasant surprises, do your calculations by adding the incidental costs, a low price is not always cheaper!
Personally, I hate taking my laundry with me when I go on holiday, especially if I'm going by plane! and I find it quite annoying to find extra costs not foreseen when I arrive, also because I need to know in advance the costs for my trip in order to plan it as well as possible, we also provide beach towels for FREE, so start with a light suitcase!
Everything is ready and organised to start your holiday on the sea of Costa Rei right away.

The holiday must be relaxing, so no sofa beds but comfortable and cosy beds to guarantee you total rest as if you were in your own home in the city.
I therefore chose a double bed and a single bed (French style) with storage with slatted frame and comfortable mattresses.
Night and afternoon rest in the cool of the air conditioning (after a long swim) is assured!

The flat has been completely renovated with new furniture. I have personally taken care of the furnishings, choosing colours, materials, lights, and scents of sea essences to create a warm, cosy and relaxing atmosphere.
An extensible table with four chairs will allow you to have breakfast, lunch, dinner, and to have a 4-burner stove, coffee machine, kettle, and microwave oven nearby.
The kitchen is equipped with all utensils, plates, glasses, crockery and pots and pans.
There is a relaxation corner consisting of a sofa and two armchairs where you can watch TV or read a book while sipping an aperitif in the tranquillity of an environment cooled by air conditioning.

ON THE BEACH
The residence is located right ON THE BEACH, not hundreds of metres away, there are no winding roads to follow, maybe uphill, under the sun. In the advertisements you see they ‘sell’ the sea view as being close to the sea... but you also have a sea view on the hill kilometres away! there is a big difference here YOU ARE ON THE BEACH!
From the photographs taken with my drone you can clearly perceive the few dozen metres that connect the residence with the beach and the water.
In your search on AirBnB carefully consider the location of the property you are going to, if you are going to have a beach holiday.... DO IT REALLY AT THE SEA! and don't settle for seeing it from afar! this is the key element to take into account.
Do you want to stress yourself out every day by taking the car to the beach? Struggling to find a free parking space? Think instead how convenient it is to have a flat 1 minute from the beach! Have lunch in the cool of the air conditioning and then return whenever you want to your beach umbrella!
THINK ABOUT IT!
EXCLUSIVE, PRIVATE and SECURE
You are in a residence with RESTRICTED ACCESS TO THE SHAREHOLDERS ONLY, it means that everyone knows each other like in a big family, it means SAFETY for children who can play without danger inside the structure . Your car will have a private covered parking space, you will never have the problem ‘where will I park my car on 15 August?’
When you take a walk around Costa Rei and see cars parked everywhere (with fines) you will appreciate the value of having a parking space!
PRIVATE LIFEGUARD, BEACH UMBRELLA AND SUNBEDS RESERVED
You can count on a RESERVED BEACH, beach umbrella and sunbeds included (a nice saving as their rent can reach more than 50 euro per day!) The number of beach umbrellas is about 65, they are available to all the guests of the residence, they are not assigned, so you can choose the one you prefer every day, according to availability.
From his control tower the lifeguard will never lose sight of you and your children.
The lifeguard service and beach umbrellas are provided from 15 June to 15 September.
In the period before and after, you will be provided with a private beach umbrella and sunbeds will be available in the dedicated areas as always.
EXCLUSIVE SERVICES YOU WON'T FIND AT OTHERS
The car park INSIDE the residence (and not in the street!) is reserved for the flat, it is covered and delimited, and your car will be safe throughout your stay.
The fact that it is inside the residence is a distinguishing feature, many people put parking included and then you find out that it is on the street, perhaps 500m from the house, do you trust leaving your car in a remote and unattended place?

As I live all year round in Costa Rei, and about 10 minutes from the residence, I will personally welcome guests and have the pleasure of providing all the information I can, I will advise you on the most beautiful and secret itineraries where to go, as proof look at my aerial photos!
Guest access
A table with four chairs sheltered by a large 10-foot awning is located in the outdoor area, next to the beautiful flowering bougainvillea.
Access to the apartment is available via stairs or via a driveway, which is useful for unloading luggage.
Two comfortable sun loungers are included for the duration of your stay, along with, of course, the existing umbrella directly on the beach with the ability to change position whenever you want.
The residence is located next to the most important tourist village in Costa Rei: the Free Beach Village Club, but remains an independent facility located at 8 Marco Polo Street.
Reserved beach and lifeguard services refer to the summer season from June 15 to September 15, but of course the beach is always available year-round.
A few meters from the property there are also grass tennis courts and bookable mini golf, you can take Diving courses at the Free Beach village next door, or book boat or kitesurfing excursions at the nearby Rei Marina 5 minutes from the residence.
There are also numerous trekking and biking trails to the Capo Ferrato area, splendid to travel in the spring months when Sardinia gives our eyes unmissable palettes of green and yellow colors.
Other things to note
You will find a lot of tourist offerings in Costa Rei, but most of the accommodations are located far from the sea, you have to drive long uphill roads to above Monte Nai.
It means walking hundreds of meters (if that's okay) under the summer sun carrying umbrellas, beach chairs, strollers, and maybe seeing the sea 1Km away! Not to mention having to drive down to the beach and look for a free parking space each time (and believe me, you can't find any easily).
Also, you can't know what the neighbors are like and whether you will be able to have peace and security, and this makes a big difference in having a nice vacation (hearing noises at 2 a.m. while you are resting is not pleasant! especially then if you have small children).
The beach in Costa Rei is largely free and this can be an advantage but also problematic as it could create a large density of umbrellas, beach towels, tables, chairs without a minimum of order, respect and safety.
Free beach equals "no supervision" and inevitably also no lifeguard, which is not to be underestimated if you are not Phelps in the water! When the Sirocco wind blows there are swells and waves of a few meters that can be very dangerous, and when the Mistral reigns getting back to shore is sometimes tricky.
What vacation do I propose in my apartment at the Free Beach residence?
The real vacation, according to my point of view, is to experience the sea, to hear the sound of the waves, to breathe the sea air and to smell the saltiness, all in total peace and security for me and my family.
A peaceful vacation is knowing that your child can play on the beach and bathe safely with the lifeguard always present, plus it is easy to socialize with other families and let your children frolic around the manicured green spaces with flowers.
I have been frequenting Costa Rei for 22 years now, first as a tourist and then (accomplice a sardine named Daniela) as an inhabitant.
I can therefore claim to have a "certain" experience of the area, and can undoubtedly give you useful advice for your vacation, what places to visit, also thanks to my profession as a photographer.
