Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Casa Colina is an absolutely stunning apartment. If peace and quiet and privacy are what you seek, look no further! The home is located on a beautiful hillside over looking a pasture. The balcony doors are larger than life and can be left open all day providing a wonderful breeze! We were skeptical at first about staying without any air conditioning, but trust me it was not missed! Rincon is a beautifully breezy beach town and at night the breeze can be felt throughout the entire apartment. The bathroom epitomizes luxury as the large soaking tub sits between two windows and the beautiful shower faces one.

*** Please note that the apartment is located on a very steep hillside in a remote area and driving up daily requires a dependable vehicle. It is very dark at night - as are the neighboring areas. Nothing is walking distance - but the beach, restaurants and supermarkets are a very short drive away during the day.

** If you are squeamish about insects or tiny lizards Casa Colina might not be for you. Although the apartment is clean, the tiny lizards are everywhere. They are harmless and adorable (in our opinion)

** The washer/dryer located in the garage is extremely convenient, as is the balcony for quickly drying bathing suits.

If you think the photos of Casa Colina are gorgeous, you will be speechless when you enter. Waking up every morning in this beautifully decorated apartment was dream like. We cannot wait to return!

  • Casa Colina is fabulous. Pictures only begin to convey the elegance and spaciousness. In addition to being at the top of the hill the location on the second floor makes you feel like you are up in the trees. We loved the deck for morning coffee and breakfast. Having the grill in the deck is wonderful as well. My wife loved the bathroom. Walk in shower and huge tub surrounded by windows. Note that this is well out of town and a drive to the beach (2 miles). We loved the feeling of seclusion and the quiet.

  • Beautiful home. On a hill and very private. We lucked out and the unit below was empty. Must have a car to drive to beaches, restaurants, etc. Would stay again in future.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Collina. The house, as others have stated, is beautiful. It looks as lovely in real life as it does in the pictures - this is no bait and switch. We really loved how airy and open everything was, with the high ceilings, big windows and doors, and spacious floor plan. Maddalena was very flexible working with our delayed arrival (we had no idea how much time seemingly "short" drives in Puerto Rico can take, and arrived 3 hours late!). If you prefer the quiet, seclusion and homey feel of a house over a hotel room, this is the perfect place to relax in Rincon.

  • Casa Colina is a really wonderful haven - a unique an unexpected experience. Beautifully furnished with Moroccan touches - spectacular views from the balcony overlooking the farm from hillside down to the sea. The high ceilings make it feel light and airy and the bedroom is gorgeous - so is the the huge elegant bathroom with a large modern shower and deep tub. Casa Colina is so quiet and peaceful and a nice place to repose after a day at the beach. We enjoyed watching Hitchcock late at night from the movie collection and listening to music from the cd collection. Maddalena provides a lot of great info about the area, with suggestions for places to eat, places to see etc. We found a nice surprise on our doorstep one morning - a box of fresh coconuts and mangoes. So much nicer than a hotel in many ways. Thank you so much Maddalena.

    Response from Maddalena:

Gretchen thank you for your beautiful review and I'm really glad you enjoyed Casa Colina.
We hope to have you back soon in Rincon!

  • This beautiful home was a wonderful place to stay in Rincon! The house is open, airy and well designed with antiques and Moroccan flair! We appreciated having the kitchen to prepare some of our own meals; especially breakfast each morning which allowed us to rest and not have to rush off to find food.
The tub is huge and a fantastic edition to our relaxing stay! The birds and surrounding area was serene and restful.
If we had to share any challenges, they would be minimal; but worth mentioning- we were very lucky with weather, but in the hotter season the lack of air conditioning might make this experience less comfortable. We were alone in the house the first three nights and it was divine; other guests arrived our last night, staying downstairs and the feel changed quite a bit (of course that would depend on the guests...). We could definitely hear them and their music late at night; the doors slamming etc. All of this to say that it is ideal to be there solo, but still totally worth the experience regardless.
Elliot the host was excellent; attentive and helpful. We would highly recommend this airbnb location!! Thank you for a fantastic stay:)!

  • I stayed in Casa Colina with my husband over Christmas week and we had a lovely time. We would definitely go back and have already recommended it to many friends. The apartment looks just like it does in the pictures. It's incredibly spacious and airy. The balcony is perfect for relaxing after the beach, when the weather is absolutely perfect, and sipping a pina colada. The one complaint that I have is that I was really looking forward to using the gorgeous tub but found that there wasn't enough hot water to take a comfortable bath. I also wanted to add that while there are decent beaches 5 minutes away, the really nice beaches are a bit further- more like 15 minutes. Overall though, this place is a gem!

  • Casa Colina is simply beautiful. Situated amongst the green pastures of a 100 acre farm, the location is quite remote, but tranquil, peaceful, quiet and blessed with gorgeous views. We went in October and it was hot, hot, hot during the day, but cooled off a bit at night with the afternoon thunderstorms. The house has huge ceiling fans in every room (including the bathroom) which help to keep you cool. The bed is very comfy and the flowy white canopy is darling. The bathroom was clean and beautiful, with a claw-foot tub, spacious shower, double sinks and even a bidet! The furnishings and decor are eclectic Spanish colonial with elements of Moroccan style--simply gorgeous and tastefully appointed. If you're looking for a beachy experience in PR, this isn't the place for you, as you must drive to the beach (5-10 min depending on which beach you choose). But if you want a quiet, peaceful getaway to a gorgeously-appointed house that is a destination in and of itself, Casa Colina might just do the trick. Also, highly recommended for a romantic stay.

  • Maddalena hosted my girlfriend and I for 5 days, and I couldn't have asked for a better first time Airbnb experience. The house was even more mind blowing than the pictures could make it. Maddalena has the house stocked with almost anything you could possibly need during your stay, and her assistant Elliot is always a simple call away if you need anything.

Please be fully aware that you are fully secluded, on a hill top, about 1/2 mile from the nearest house via road. It can make it a little nerve wrecking upon first arrival, but once your settled you will fully appreciate your privacy (it beats having a noisy neighbor or area). All you will hear is the great jungle sounds of Puerto Rico. I will certainly be returning soon :)

  • An absolutely incredible place to say. Like a 5 star hotel with total attention to details. I will be returning.
