I offer a fold out couch in the livingroom of my 2 bedroom apartment. The apt has a fully-equipped shared kitchen and bath. The neighborhood is easily reached and has great restaurants and pubs/bars. We are just a 10 min tram ride to the center.
I offer a fold out couch in the livingroom of my 2 bedroom apartment (shared with 2 non-smokers and a dog in 1 room and other airbnb guests or friends in the 2nd room). I speak English & Italian (and some Spanish). The apt has a fully equipped shared kitchen, bath and washing machine. The couch folds out to a twin sized bed. I provide all necessary linens (sheets, towels etc) and have an iron/ironing board, hair dryer, a straightening iron and several plug adapters that you can use as needed.
The apt is just 650m (less than 1/2 a mile) from Trastevere Station (approx. 8 min walk) and 1.6km (just under a mile) from the "Piramide" Metro station (approx. 20 min walk). There are numerous busses which connect us to various parts of the city, a tram-line which goes directly to the historic center and an above ground train which takes you straight to St. Peter’s and the Vatican or out to Fiumicino, Leonardo da Vinci airport. There is ample street parking and the building has a doorman and is quite safe.
You are welcome to use the kitchen area during your stay. You can also use the washing machine (after 7pm to cut down on the electricity costs) for €4 per load. I provide the laundry soap and fabric softener.
Interaction with Guests
If you need advice on where to go, what to see or where to eat- feel free to ask! I'm happy to help you whenever possible. My work schedule is erratic so I am often in and out throughout the day but I am happy to help you out or to leave you to your privacy, as you prefer. :)
Because my work schedule changes frequently, I generally do not accept bookings more than 2 months in advance, but I am happy to answer your questions at any time.
The neighborhood is located along the Tiber river and has numerous bars/cafes, pubs, restaurants, dry cleaners/laundromats, banks and grocery stores within easy walking distance. There is also a great bike path/running path which runs along the Tiber starting just a 3 minute walk down the road from us.
We are 2 blocks from the #8 tram line which takes you directly to the heart of the historic city center. We are also well connected by several bus lines to various parts of the city and the nearest metro is Piramide (metro B) just a 15-20 min walk away.
Other Things to Note
My dog is a part of the family and is very friendly (he will most likely try to cuddle with you at every opportunity and he will definitely try to sit on the bed with you). If you have allergies, or are afraid of dogs, or even if you just don't like dogs, this is probably not the best place for you to choose.
Please tidy up whatever dishes/pots & pans you use.
Please don't feed anything to the dog (he's pretty much allergic to everything).
No smoking in the house.
Please keep the door locked (with the keys) at all times as the pup knows how to open it and will go on unauthorised walkabout if given the chance.
PLEASE do not lose the keys - a copy of the set of keys costs about €130 and takes a week to make.
Heather is an excellent host and her place is in a great location! She and John are wonderful people and I would recommend there place to anyone!
Staying with Heather and John was truly a wonderful experience. I was with them for a week, and couldn't have been happier. When I showed up the first night, Heather and a bunch of her equally wonderful friends were all having dinner and invited me to join. Heather, John, and their friends who were in and out all week all treated me like a friend, and after I left I felt so lucky that I had picked a place where I felt extremely comfortable and able to meet new friends. And of course, Kilo is the nicest dog who loves a snuggle! Heather's apartment is located in an excellent spot, close to the train station, a bus station, and tram, as well as grocery stores. I felt safe walking through the area if I was out late. She is very knowledgeable about the area and can answer any questions you may have. I would absolutely recommend Heather's place to anyone, and would stay there again if I got the chance. The connections I made with Heather, John, and her friends made my week in Rome a truly amazing experience. Thanks, Heather!
Heather was very friendly host. She and her boyfriend (and their friends)told me many tips and places that I found them really useful during my stay in Rome.
Their place was clean and cozy. It was easy to access to the center of Rome: it was only 2 blocks away from tram stop and you can go straight to the city center.
I had really good time there thanks to her.
The house is very nice, and they are really good people. In my first experience, i can recommend heather's house. The ubication was wanderfull, because is tranquil and you're near of all.
A lovely couple!
Heather offered me the independent room even though I only booked the couch. Actually they are native English speakers so there will be no communication problems if you speak English.
Heather was very welcoming from the beginning to the end.
She made a very detailed and simple description to access her building which is 10 minutes walk from the train station stratevere rome.
The apartment is located along the canal and allows to do some jogging.
Heather , Jon and KILO had the sense of hospitality and I felt home throughout the stay.
Feel free to contact Heather , the location will allow you to reach downtown walking or by tram in a few minutes.
Thank you Heather and Jon , my stay in Rome was embellished by your welcome.
Hope to see you soon.
Heather and John are both super nice, so is their dog Kilo! I enjoyed my stay at their place very much and definitely would recommend it to anyone who's traveling to Rome.

I'm a 36 yr old professional cook and kung fu instructor who's been living in Rome, Italy for about 11 years now. I live with my boyfriend, Jon, and our 4 year old dog in a 2 bedroom apartment. Jon is a tour guide and a writer. We're both pretty laid back. We love travel, reading, movies, food and music.
I speak English (native), Italian, and some Spanish. My French is limited to hello/goodbye and basic phrases but I'm always happy to try!
