About this listing
I offer a fold out couch in the livingroom of my 2 bedroom apartment. The apt has a fully-equipped shared kitchen and bath. The neighborhood is easily reached and has great restaurants and pubs/bars. We are just a 10 min tram ride to the center.
I offer a fold out couch in the livingroom of my 2 bedroom apartment (shared with 2 non-smokers and a dog in 1 room and other airbnb guests or friends in the 2nd room). I speak English & Italian (and some Spanish). The apt has a fully equipped shared kitchen, bath and washing machine. The couch folds out to a twin sized bed - it only fits 1 person. I provide all necessary linens (sheets, towels etc) and have an iron/ironing board, hair dryer, a straightening iron and several plug adapters that you can use as needed.
The apt is just 650m (less than 1/2 a mile) from Trastevere Station (approx. 8 min walk) and 1.6km (just under a mile) from the "Piramide" Metro station (approx. 20 min walk). There are numerous busses which connect us to various parts of the city, a tram-line which goes directly to the historic center and an above ground train which takes you straight to St. Peter’s and the Vatican or out to Fiumicino, Leonardo da Vinci airport. There is ample street parking and the building has a doorman and is quite safe.
You are welcome to use the kitchen area during your stay but please keep food out of Kilo's reach.
You can also use the washing machine (after 7pm to cut down on the electricity costs) for €4 per load. I provide the laundry soap and fabric softener.
Interaction with Guests
If you need advice on where to go, what to see or where to eat- feel free to ask! I'm happy to help you whenever possible. My work schedule is erratic so I am often in and out throughout the day but I am happy to help you out or to leave you to your privacy, as you prefer. :)
Because my work schedule changes frequently, I generally do not accept bookings more than 2 months in advance, but I am happy to answer your questions at any time.
The neighborhood is located along the Tiber river and has numerous bars/cafes, pubs, restaurants, dry cleaners/laundromats, banks and grocery stores within easy walking distance. There is also a great bike path/running path which runs along the Tiber starting just a 3 minute walk down the road from us.
We are 2 blocks from the #8 tram line which takes you directly to the heart of the historic city center. We are also well connected by several bus lines to various parts of the city and the nearest metro is Piramide (metro B) just a 15-20 min walk away.
Other Things to Note
My dog is a part of the family and is very friendly (he will most likely try to cuddle with you and he will definitely try to sit on the bed with you even though he is 30kg and doesn't always recognise it). If you have allergies, or are afraid of dogs, or even if you just don't like dogs, this is not the best place for you to choose.
Please don't feed anything to the dog (he's got a lot of allergies) or leave food where he can reach it.
No smoking in the house.
Please keep the door locked (with the keys) at all times as the pup knows how to open it and will go on unauthorised walkabout if given the chance.
PLEASE do not lose the keys - a copy of the set of keys costs about €130 and takes a week to make.
This house is my first airbnb. That place is very good. Host couple is very kind and give me a cup of coffee every in the morning. And told me a great resturant in roma. Oh, they have a cute dog killo. I love that dog. Very kind dog. heather and john~ thank you so much!!! I hope you have a happy life. 감사합니다!!
I really enjoyed my stay at Heather's home! It was really convenient. It was near roma trastevere station which made it easy to get to roma termini and the airport. There was also a tram straight to piazza venezia which was near many sights. She was kind and helpful! Thank you! :D
Heather is awesome, knowledgeable and hospitable. i'd stay there again if i am ever in rome again. the place is so easily accessible by public transportation. just a great and easy place for a tourist to stay in.
Heather was very kind and made me feel welcome in her apartment. The location is also really good, especially because it gives you the chance to walk from a more residential area of Rome to the old historic regions. I really enjoyed my time in Rome in general and I thought Heather's place was perfect for my three nights there.
Heather was very sweet and helpful. I am a directionally challenged person, and she gave me very good instructions, even wrote down a very detailed map of the surrounding area to help me get to hers and other places. I enjoyed staying with her, and I would recommend her to other air bnb travellers.
Heather and her friends, John and Dan and of course Kilo ( the dog) were very welcoming and treated me like one of the family. Heather had baked a couple of times and left me notes asking me to help myself. The place was clean and well organised and I was allowed to treat the place as me own which was very nice. Bed very comfy too. Very much as described and for other runners our there, there was a great running track along the river bank to use. Easy access to the local station and very close to a great Roman restaurant.

I'm a 38 yr old professional cook and kung fu instructor who's been living in Rome, Italy for about 12 years now. I live with my boyfriend, Jon, and our 5 year old dog in a 2 bedroom apartment. Jon is a tour guide and a writer. We're both pretty laid back. We love travel, reading, movies, food and music.
I speak English (native), Italian, and some Spanish. My French is limited to hello/goodbye and basic phrases but I'm always happy to try!
