About this listing
Beautiful pine cabin in the woods of Tahoma. Main floor consists of living room with beautiful stone wood-burning fireplace, kitchen, bedroom (1 Queen), and full bathroom (shower only, no tub). Upstairs is a full-floor attic bedroom (4 Twin) with a half-bath. Non-sleeper sofa in living room or additional air mattress (not included) could potentially accommodate one or two additional guests for a total of seven or eight. Brand new (installed 11/15/11) gas furnace heats the place comfortably.
Just four blocks from the lake and a short drive to many North and West-Shore ski destinations (Homewood is about 1 mile away), this cabin is right where you want to be in any season; close to fun activities but removed enough to feel like you've escaped. The neighborhood market (PDQ) makes the best sandwiches on earth, has a great selection of DVD rentals perfect for snowy nights, and provides easy access to essentials if you find yourself in need.
A portion of your reservation fee will be donated to Friends of West Shore, a non-profit organization benefitting the preservation of Tahoe's West Shore communities, and to The League to Save Lake Tahoe, an organization that works with California and Nevada government agencies to protect the habitat of the Tahoe Basin.
Please note: second floor is accessed by an attic staircase, not handicap or pet accessible.
Pets are allowed with additional security deposit and cleaning fee; please contact me for details. Please note there is no fenced yard, and stairs to second floor bedroom are not pet-friendly.
Cole's cabin was very well located for our needs and it was well furnished with kitchen ware, blankets, towels, coffee maker and the like. We had some trouble figuring out the media options, but fortunately Cole was quick to respond to our inquiries. For our needs the bedroom arrangements worked perfectly. We also thought the pictures he uses to show the cabin gives one a clear idea of what the place looks like. Anyway, we enjoyed out stay and would definitely consider coming back.
small cabin on the west shore of Tahoe. description was accurate. all needs within in the cabin. close to Meeks bay/trail to go hiking with the dogs and close to Tahoe city for more food options. Cole responds very fast to replies/calls.
The cabin was very sweet and on a lovely street. The area was very quiet, wide streets and very friendly neighbours. It was a good 10-15 minute walk to the lake and shops, but a nice stroll past all the pretty cabins in the area. Communication about the cabin, and access was all made very easy by Cole. My only negative comment would be that it felt like the place needed a really good clean. The basics were clean enough, bedding, towels, plates etc. but a lot of furniture, carpets, cupboards etc needed a good scrub. We moved a sofa to get something from underneath and the rug under it was filthy, some of the furniture, inside and outside was broken and needed throwing away. Nothing really smelled very fresh. Having said that we did thoroughly enjoy our stay.
Cole's cabin is very cozy and clean, and loft is very cute. We had a wondering time staying there for two nights, and will definitely come here again in the future.
The cabin is cute and homey, full of touches that make it feel like someone's home rather than a vacation rental. The outdoor deck area is quite large too. If you want to do some cooking, the kitchen is fully equipped, with all the pots, pans, utensils, appliances and tableware you could want, and more. Groceries are available nearby.
The living area has a comfy couch and two rocking chairs. There's a nice selection of books and board games.
The upstairs is very roomy. You reach it via an attic ladder, so probably not the best choice for people with agility issues. Great for kids.
The neighborhood seemed peaceful and you are surrounded by tall trees. It's a quick 5-minute drive to Sugar Pine Point, which has a beautiful beach. Some good hikes are also nearby.
It would be hard to beat this cabin for location, value and comfort.
Cole was very friendly, helpful, and responsive. The cabin was clean, comfortable, cozy, and in great condition.
Nice cabin and the room is similar like pictures. Besides, ground floor's restroom sink a little block, every thing is very good!!!

About the Host, Cole
I'm originally from Marin County, and I moved to San Francisco in 2005. I now divide my time between San Francisco and the beautiful West Shore of Lake Tahoe. I enjoy traveling (34 countries and counting), running, and eating too much Mexican food (if there is such an amount — a theory still being rigorously tested). I'm the oldest of 6 kids and my family is very important to me.
