Welcome in this comfortable and characteristic open space, 1 block from the middle bridge - in the very heart of Pisa! Perfect for travelers, 10 minutes walking from the train station. Enjoy a beautiful view, night life next door and wifi.
The studio apartment is located on the third floor (without elevator) of an ancient tower house. The open space (40 sqm) offers a double loft bed 140x200cm and a double sofa bed 140x200cm, a basic kitchenette, a table for 4 persons, a desk, a bathroom, a washing machine and 4G wireless internet.
In the kitchenette guests can use a stove for 4 pans, a small fridge and a water boiler.
There are a washing machine and a hair dryer.
If it gets hot you can turn on a fan and an anti-mosquito device.
4G wireless internet connection is provided.
Guests will find maps, guides and books in English about Pisa, Tuscany and Tuscan cooking.
In the kitchenette there are salt, sugar, espresso coffee, Nescafe and tea bags. For breakfast there is a bakery "Pane Amore e Fantasia" nearby in the street and a nice café right in front.
Interaction with Guests
Generally I personally welcome guests at the apartment. I talk Italian, English, German, Spanish and basic French.
Do not hesitate to ask me for any information!
Via San Martino is a street of ancient noble houses with an authentic local atmosphere. It is located parallel to the river Arno and perpendicular to the main street Corso Italia which leads to the train station.
In Via San Martino you find various cafés, bakerys and eating places visited by the locals. Twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday morning there is a small farmer's market.
Next door you find the pictoresque little square Piazza Chiara Gambacorti, also called "Piazza La Pera": here you can have lunch or a drink and enjoy night life.
In 2 minutes by feet you reach the main bridge crossing the river Arno and the other main street Borgo Stretto leading in direction of the leaning tower and the cathedral. On the left hand of Borgo Stretto there is another night life area in Piazza delle Vettovaglie where weekdays you can also find a small farmer's market.
In 10 minutes walking you reach the train station Pisa Centrale.
In between on the right hand in Piazza Sant'Antonio you find the bus terminal e.g. if you want to go to the closest beach in Marina di Pisa. From the airport to the apartment you can take a taxi for maximum 10-12€ or otherwise take a bus. If you rent a car you can not park in Via San Martino because it's only accesible for residents; you should park on Lungarno Galileo Galileo besides the river Arno (paying a parking fee from Monday to Saturday 8am to 8pm) or a bit more far away for free on Lungarno Guadolongo.
Other Things to Note
For longer stays recommended day trips by train are to Lucca, Florence, Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, Livorno and Viareggio.
No smoking and no pets please.
Before check-out please empty the fridge, wash your dishes and bring your rubbish away.
Please help me to save energy and keep prices low by switching off the water boiler in the bathroom after using hot water and switching off the lights before leaving the apartment.
My partner and I stayed in Angela's beautiful apartment at the weekend. What can we say! We had the BEST WEEKEND EVER! We were greeted by Angela and her lovely family on arrival to the apartment. The journey itself to the apartment is very, very easy. We took a taxi which cost 10 euros and we were there in 10 minutes! The apartment looks exactly as it does it the pictures and was simply wonderful to stay in. It has real character and charm which is exactly what we were looking for! Angela was very welcoming on arrival and gave us a lovely bottle of local red wine along with some cheese which we immensely enjoyed! Angela provided us with maps and reems of information and local knowledge which was exactly what we were looking for. As the trip was booked as a surprise, we hadn't really made much of a plan so we followed all of her advice! We ate in several restaurants recommended (all beautiful) and went to the places highlighted on the maps. Angela sent us a text message daily with more tips on local events and places to go. Angela was always really quick to respond to any questions we had. There is noise from the street but it never bothered us (in fact, I enjoyed it!) The apartment itself is in a great location, close walking distance to the main event in Pisa (the tower of course) and is right next to a main shopping street.Thank you Angela once again, we had a brilliant time and would love to come back one day.
Dear Nikki and Luke,
Thanks a lot for your very nice and detailed review. And thank you for being so grateful and pleasant guests! In Germany they say: "When angels travel, the sun smiles (shines)." - it made me think of you two: with your positive attitude you will enjoy every place on earth!
Angela Maria greeted us with a basket of fruits from her garden and was very obliging to let us check in and check out at hours outside her normal time frame which was very helpful to us avoiding carrying around bags. She had a lot of recommendations for us and they were all great! The apartment was as in the photos and we enjoyed our stay very much. The noise from the street is the charm of being in the centre of town, its just music to the ears to listen to Italians down below! We used the apartment as a base, discovering Pisa, Cinque Terre and Florence. It is easy walking distance to the train station and in the middle of town. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a lovely place to stay and Angela was very quick to respond to any requests.
We spent a wonderful weekend in Pisa! It was an amazing experience staying in such an old house, right in the middle of the historical city centre, close to the river and all the sights. I have to mention that we took both buses and trains, and everything was easily accessible from the apartment.
Angela was an amazing host, she gave us great tips with regard to local specialties and shops so that we could get to know the real side of the city, not just the touristic monuments. It was also a big help that there were great guidebooks on Pisa which contained much more detailed information on the city than average guidebooks.
All in all, it was great meeting a person who knows and loves her city so much. Thank you for everything, also for the lovely fruits!
Thank you for your very detailed review, you pointed out things many guests do not seem to notice. It was the first time I got to know personally a family from Budapest and it was a big pleasure for me!! You were so gentle, grateful, cultivated and curious about Pisa and everything, it was a real delight to host you! I especially appreciated your gift from Budapest, it was the first time a guest brought me a gift :-)
Please say hello to your mother and your sisters.
Hope to meet you again one day. Arrivederci, Angela
Really nice flat!
Perfect setting for familly. Located in the center, the street is really alive.
We enjoyed Pisa by walking from the flat to the different places of the city, indicated by Angela.
We've got the feeling to be at home!
Angela gave us a really warm welcome, with all best advises we need to enjoy a short stay. I particularly appreciate the fresh fruits basket and small details that Angela prepared to make our stay easier and more confortable.
I can only recommend Angela's flat and good advises for those who want to visit Pisa and suroundings.
Thanks a lot for your detailed review - it is very important for me to understand how my guests feel in my place and in Pisa.
It was a big pleasure to get to know you and your nice kids! I'm happy you enjoyed Pisa and Tuscany. Thank you for leaving the apartment so clean and tidy.
I wish you all the best for your future.
