kind regards from switzerland
We had a great stay at Patricia's.
Our booking was last minute and Patricia was very accommodating and prompt with her correspondence.
She provided us with great local suggestions and helped with the airport transfers.
Our family had a delightful time at Pat's. Pat went out of
her way to be helpful. Lovely, quiet location, with a charming walk through the village down to the beach. Thanks Pat.
Pat is a gracious host and makes an effort to make her guests feel at home. Her gift to our son of crayons and a blank book ended up sparking a huge growth in drawing that has continued throughout our trip. I can't thank you enough, Pat, for that thoughtful welcome touch. The room, and most importantly, the beds were clean and we had hot water when we needed it. I am especially grateful for access to a washing machine and for having mineral water provided in bulk so we could refill our bottles and minimize the amount of plastic we generated. Despite a rough first night (through no fault of Pat's) we enjoyed our stay and enjoyed having the little open air sitting room and kitchen to retire to in the evening when our son was asleep. My few criticisms would be that there are places right on the beach that are better value for money; I feel we were paying quite a lot for our accommodation. And we never were able to access the internet at Pat's during our week's stay.
I cannot express enough how important it was to be able to walk to the sea, while still being able to "live" in and among the locals, away from a majority of the tourist activity that is Kovalam.
To be there for a month, with a western toilet in my own bathroom, and access to a fridge and kitchenette, made my stay in Kerala even that much more enjoyable.
Patricia is a great story-teller and host, who is willing to give as much space or assistance as necessary to assist a person to "settle-in" to their new surroundings.
She will set you up with everything from reliable rickshaw and taxi drivers, to reputable restaurants if you want to go out instead of eat at home.
With the exception of the hot season coming unusually early this year, and not having any airconditioning in the room, I could not have asked for a better location for my sojourn.
Thank-you Pat, for your hospitality and willingness to share the home you have created...
In Gratitude and In Spirit,

About the Host, Patricia
Hi, I'm originally from UK & relocated to Kerala 6yrs ago & loving it. Although I came for the 'quiet life' it did not quite work out that way, I now have an Indian tourism & event management company & more recently started writing for the film industry (screen plays & song lyrics). Life out here is busy but I still enjoy meeting new people, welcoming them to my home & sharing the wonders that beautiful Kerala has to offer.
