House Rules

SMOKING: Smoking is allowed on the roof terrace.

VISITORS: No local visitors are allowed entry to the Riad during your stay. This restriction is necessary because of the Moroccan legislation.

NEIGHBORS: It is expected that our guests do not make excessive noise that could disturb our neighbors. Furthermore, it is not allowed to be naked on the roof terrace. We also ask our guests not to unnecessarily look at the terraces and patios of the riads in the neighborhood. The roof terraces in Morocco were originally reserved for women.

ARRIVAL/DEPARTURE: Our house is available from 1600 on the day of arrival and must be vacated by 1000 on the day of departure. If possible, though, this will be flexible depending on your final flight arrival and departure times.

A great stay at the lovely Riad Naila. Everything was super form the time we arrived, a beautiful place to stay in the old town in Medina, and they people who was taking care of us was the best. They will help you with everything if you need it. Star service

We choose this Riad due to all the positive feedback on airbnb and we experienced the same high level of service that other guests have expressed. Aleks and his team are great to deal with, all sorts of small things, such as transfers, luggage cart (through the alleys), meals, excursions etc really help to make the stay enjoyable, and remove stress. The Riad was very clean, and very quiet (except the call to prayer, which to be honest was not loud, and every Riad in Marrakech will experience). The photos are very accurate. The court yard is a lovely place to hang out. There are small corner stores within 2 mins walk where we bought water, and the entrance to the souks was a further 2 mins. Internet was excellent and everything worked. We were there in 45 C weather which was not ideal! But the three main rooms have A/C and the having the front door and roof open allows a breeze to come through the courtyard. People are very friendly and we felt very safe (if you happen to be arriving very late at night walking through the alleys), and the neighbourhood soon felt like home. I would definitely recommend staying in any of the accommodation options that Aleks has available.

Beautiful home, renovated in a traditional but comfortable way. The Riad had the modern amenities we wanted but felt wonderfully exotic/Moroccan to us. Highly recommended

Riad Naila is a gem within the Medina of Marrakech and we would looked forward to coming back home after long days exploring the city or surrounding areas. The Riad itself was comfortable, spacious, and had an amazing relaxing vibe that was exactly what was needed after the hustle and bustle that is Marrakech. Aleks and his team were unbelievable and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Our best meal in Marrakech was the home cooked dinner through Aleks on our first night and we had breakfast every morning that was amazing. His team made it easy to book any type of excursion and explore the area. I highly recommend staying with Aleks. Thanks for the hospitality!

What isn't there to love? We were all taken aback when we arrived at the riad - decadent, tasteful, vast, private. We found it to be the perfect place to unwind and enjoy ourselves after a long day in the fast pace of Marrakech. We ate in twice; both were beyond expectations. Definitely ask Suad to do a kefta tagine! She took great care of us during our stay and was always happy to give tips and advice; she is wonderful. Aleks and his team are great hosts and communication was everything you would want it to be.

I can thoroughly recommend Riad Naila as a great place to stay in Marrakesh. I had high hopes as it looks great on the listings, and it exceeded expectations. We had the whole Riad booked for 6 of us for a week, and there was plenty of space to spread out but also lovely communal spaces, especially the roof terrace (with friendly tortoise!). The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable (although one of the single rooms is quite small and dark) with lovely bathrooms. We booked dinner on the first night and had breakfast provided most mornings. The food is delicious with more than enough to eat; breakfast included all sorts of traditional breads and pancakes which were very nice. It would have been nice to have some fresh fruit along with everything, but it's a small thing. We did visit a supermarket to buy our own breakfast one day but options were limited and very expensive so it was more than worth having it provided for us. There was housekeeping every day which was a bonus we weren't expecting; the lady who cooked breakfast also tidied and cleaned up the Riad each day. There was also a caretaker on hand locally to provide any help needed - she was lovely and arranged a driver for a day trip to the mountains for us, as well as helping with printing a boarding pass for one of the party. One tip is to make sure you bring enough Euros with you to cover the extras - we were unable to withdraw any from the banks/exchanges but luckily had brought enough between us to be able to cover everything. Having the whole Riad to ourselves was perfect as it was a haven of quiet in a very busy city. It's in a great location, a few minutes walk from a taxi rank and very easy to walk right into the souks. There are some really nice restaurants close by too. All in all it was a wonderful stay, and Aleks was also very helpful before we arrived - highly recommended.

It's about a 5 minute winding walk through narrow, darker paths between buildings - we took flashlights and soon learned the direction well enough. Once you are inside the doors, you are in your own oasis, whether inside our spacious riad or on the rooftop terrace. A friendly pickup from the airport but if you have a larger party - we were 5 - and it's the middle of the day, might be good to request air con if you are not used to heat. Wonderful greeting with excellent mint tea once we arrived in the Riad. Our constant contacts were Ahmed and Souad - both outstanding, friendly and responsive. After dinner the first night, we decided to request Souad for breakfast and dinner very night and got her for all but one day. She was a wonderful host and cook. One day we joined her in the markets and my wife spent the afternoon prepping dinner with her - a highlight for my wife which we all benefited from. We requested a guide the first afternoon, who was very nice but as all we did was go from shopping place to shopping place which was fun at first, we never felt as though we actually learnt anything so requested another guide from Ahmed for the following day. Our highlight guide however was Ahmed in Essaouira - absolutely brilliant. We did have an issue with the plumbing one evening but Ahmed was over fairly quickly and cleaned up thoroughly - the issue never returned. We did have some confusion about food as the fridge was cleaned out each day so we never had a chance to have left overs. Aleks was outstanding from the very first contact and throughout our Marrakesh experience, we are keen to return and will look at Aleks riad options first.

I have been in love with Marrakech, its inhabitants and Moroccan artwork for many years. The first time I was struck by the beauty of Morocco was when, after hitchhiking from Switzerland, I arrived in Tangier in 1979.
I offer for rent Swiss owned private vacation houses in the heart of the Medina of Marrakesh. With me, you always book the entire house. There will be no other guests, just your family and friends!
