About This Listing
Recently remodeled apartment in an immaculate mid-city home - with remote control fireplace! - is right off of Esplanade Avenue. Near delicious coffee and fantastic restaurants, it's only a 10 minute walk to the Fair Grounds where Jazz Fest is held, and has complete privacy for tucking in after!
This huge one bedroom flat is a swanky upstairs space, bearing a linear layout, with lots of room to stretch and relax - literally you could host a yoga class up there.
There are two large rooms - one with all the functionality (kitchen, bathroom attached, island, kitchen table, desk, etc.), and the other for play (bed, project desk, the heralded remote control fireplace, books, couch, large floors for yoga or improv sketches, whatever you want). Two AC units keep it cool if needed too.
Clean towels. Clean linens. Everything you'd need to live a normal life... Guests have access to the apartment, fully equipped kitchen ready for cooking if you'd like, a beautiful fake fireplace (space heater with realistic fire - it's really adorable), read all my books, a nice space to chill, stereo, normal stuff. oh, and wifi.
Interaction with Guests
I'm happy to help guide you around the city and let you know where the good spots are, how to get there, and anything else you might need. I won't be present during your stay, but am in town and am available for phone calls/texts if you need help along the way. Especially if you're in a neighborhood and just need a recommendation on where to eat. Happy to help as much as possible, or disappear from your radar if that's what you want.
The neighborhood is one of the most popular areas in New Orleans. Near Bayou St. John, great little restaurants and literally the best coffee shop in New Orleans (Fair Grinds - where I am typing this right now). Not to mention City Park, which is an amazingly beautiful park with the New Orleans Museum of Art included on the grounds. It's a quiet neighborhood with gorgeous old homes. Located in Mid-city too, which makes it easy to get anywhere in town really quickly.
The bus stops one block away from my house and will take you right to the French Quarter or to downtown. The street car is also only about 5 blocks away and can take you to the cemetaries, Canal Street, or elsewhere.
Other Things to Note
Second floor apartment
Just respectfully, like you would at any other decent place to stay.
We had a great time! The apartment is convenient to the French Quarter and close to public transportation. Thomas is a great host and everything was exactly as described!
Thomas is a supremely generous host - in fact one of the best hosts I have had thus far. He was very flexible on all fronts, responded to all queries promptly (we had quite a few!), gave excellent suggestions on restaurants/cafes/shops/yoga places nearby and he generally went out of his way to accommodate the needs of three people arriving and leaving at pretty random times. The apartment is lovely and very spacious indeed - it is also located in a funky neighbourhood. Cool cafes and the City Park are within a few minutes' walk, on a weekday getting to downtown only takes about a half an hour with public transport. We enjoyed every minute of our time there and would love to stay with Thomas again!
Thomas was very respsonsive and gave us some great guidance for our trip. The place was ready for us when we got there and was everything we needed. Great for a small group looking to visit New Orleans
