This is the best neighborhood in Berkeley. Quiet, peaceful and beautiful. The "Gourmet Ghetto", the Cheese Board where the best pizzas are made daily with live music every day, Chez Panisse the well-known restaurant, all is within a short walking distance. A block away we have the Live Oak Park, where at certain times of the year are festivals and fairs, music and food.
Wifi, Electricity, cleaning all is included in the price.
Breakfast is served in the mornings.
Patrice and her husband were warm and engaging. I felt welcome to hang around and chat, or to be alone. Their home is lovely and clean, the garden beautiful, and I felt safe to walk in the neighborhood. I appreciated the beautiful and healthy breakfasts that Patrice made for me each morning; I didn't feel pressure to accept it or to hang around but it was casually inviting and tasty, so I surprised myself by taking time for breakfast each morning! The bed was comfortable and the view of the bay was an added bonus. Patrice had helpful suggestions for places to experience in Berkeley, and even helped me to find transportation to the airport. I plan to stay here each time I come to Berkeley for my classes. Thank you!
Patrice is an amazing host who provides a room with a perfect view in the San Francisco skyline and the Golden Gate bridge. I loved the healthy breakfast with fresh fruits and real bread.
We stayed at Patrice’s house for two and a half week, and it was a very pleasant stay. We enjoyed the warm and welcoming atmosphere from Patrice and her family. The rooms were light and airy, more than what’s shown in the pictures. The view was also great over to San Francisco and the Golden gate bridge. The garden was really beautiful and we could rest here and read after work, while admiring the birds, vegetables and the flowers. The neighborhood felt safe and was quiet and beautiful. There were shops and resturants close by and we were able to walk to the university where we worked.
We would gladly recommend Patrice’s home to friends and family if they ever get go travel to Berkeley.
It was an awesome stay! The house, especially the garden is gorgeous! You can hang out and relax in a very quiet garden.
Patricia prepares excellent breakfast. She and her husband are very hospitable. We loved to stay at their place!
My stay with Patrice and her husband was amazing. I enjoyed her beautiful garden, comfortable room and delicious breakfasts. Her home is in a gorgeous area of Berkeley, with wonderful hills to exercise on. My daughter, a student at UC Berkeley, came and stayed with me while I was at Patrice's and we were treated with such warm hospitality. The bed was so comfortable, the view was beautiful and her husband and son were delightful.
Patrice's lovely home was a great place for my mom to stay while visiting Berkeley. She took great care of her, nice breakfasts, and convenient location!

Originally I am from Switzerland and have visited and lived in many different places in the world. Now I mostly share my time between Berkeley, California and Nayarit, Mexico.
I love to open my space to travelers, make them comfortable and show them what it is I find so special about the two places that I chose to live in.
I like the good things in life: an interesting conversation with friends, a good laugh and a glass of wine, or tequila to go with it. All kinds of Art, expressions of creativity, music, especially Latin & African rhythms, but also Opera.
But mostly I enjoy the quiet, natural surroundings, the gardens and the views both of my places offer. It brings me peace and happiness.
